JD IS great! I was VERY impressed with that album....as well as the new one! Re-worked hit with various singers! Anyway, I saw INXS with Michael 9 times! Once with JD! Michael Hutchence was such a GREAT talent!
One of the biggest regrets I have is selling four tickets to an INXS concert in 1997 because I was so broke working a profitless summer job in San Jose during my summer vacation and needed quick cash. Michael died the next summer and I lost my chance to see him perform with his band. I'll have to wait until the Resurrection to see him now... I always preferred INXS to U2. INXS rocked as well as had great pop and dance songs; U2 didn't.
fuck i miss theses guys !!! great musicians and ofcourse front man !..every single lame vocalist they attempted to replace hutchence with was a terrible mistake...it would be like replacing bono in u2 !
great live band, all these clips i watch and they always amaze me!!!! wish michael was still here making great music with kirk garry jon tim and andrew!
I remember telling my mates at work in the mid 80's i had heard this great new band from Australia, managed to see them twice live and they were superb.
have you ever had a close friend commit suicide!!!!? how cold of you to judge (ladycabbie) someone who has strong feelings for someone who they love who has passed away. walk a mile in their shoes before you underestimate the effect of death on loved ones...thank you very much
yeah ive had one of my best mates hang him self and one of my best mates sisters too and im a huge inxs fan there one of my fav bands but he dies like 10 years ago so get over it life goes on mate and ive also had another one of my good mates die in his sleep from a fit due to bloody clot in his brain so dont tell me about not knowing what it feals like and my mums sister died not long ago to cancer who was like another mum to me
Anyone who saw Live Aid knows this is not a performance from Live Aid. Whne they performed it was daytime and Michael was all in white. Inxs was left off the play list because the bastard bob geldolf made it that way because mh took his wife. Now go back to sleep those of you who claim u say this very perfomance on the day of live aid. And for the assholes who make stupid comments about a suicide you know nothing about should burn in hell
Actually, this was a performance for Live Aid. The Aussie concert was called Oz for Africa and was part of the worldwide Live Aid performances along with concerts in The Hague, Netherlands (B.B. King) and Moscow to name a few. MTV did televise this song (although tape delayed) during their ~16 hours of concert coverage.
@ladycabbie dear lady to set some facts straight, Michael and Paula met for the first time in 1986 during an interview for tv program The Tube, so not putting Geldof here as a saint, but none was happening at that point so don't blame him for the reason you just wrote ... and i absolutely don't know what you are talking about anyway but this IS Oz for Africa 1985 July 13th, which started earlier for the 12 hour time difference so ... count that one ...
It listens to this hits and other songs in RADIO DISCOTEQUE. It enters in GOOGLE or YAHOO the words RADIO DISCOTEQUE and it discovers a new dimension of radio in Internet.
It was part of Live Aid. It was not from the UK or the US, but from Australia. Michael wasn't with Paula Yates at that time. I remember, because I was there with his nephew (Tina's son). I usually don't watch these vids, but I was showing my daughter '80's music. Inxs were the best. Rest in peace dear Micheal!
Iin the weeks before Live Aid, if you didn't already own one, you could not buy or hire a video recorder (VHS or Beta) for love or money, and there was not a video tape to be found in Sydney!
Yup. INXS were great. This was probably my favorite song of all time. Represented the dream of a bigger, more interesting world than where I lived and everyone was still listening to tired crap like Journey and Van Halen. RIP Michael Hutchence.
Live Aid was a world wide concert event that included several venues. In my humble opinion though, it was, musically speaking, all downhill from this song out.
INXS performed in Australia and if you go by the time in London was towards the beginning of all the acts. You still had Queen and everybody else after them. So they may have been the highlight of the australian sets but certainly not of JFK and Wembley
Great Hutchy

why didnt that have inxs perform in London. Michael and mercuary seemed to be the only artists that day who could sing big songs and nail them

I'm referring to my opinion regarding their music/songwriting. This song had the groove. Again, INXS's music seemed to decline after this first hit.
