The humans of the 41st millennium are xenophobic to the extreme. As in "burning the alien is doing it a favour" xenophobic. Plus, the Eldar do whatever will preserve their race, be it saving a group of humans from certain death or wiping out a Space Marine chapter (or trying to, at least).

@BackhandTrebond true but the space marines have on rare occasions formed temporary alliances with the eldar, mainly because they are so similar in appearance to humans and have the same archenemy. these are however very rare and distrust between both groups is high. i personally think the eldar would make more friends if they weren't so damn stuck up and thought themselves the galaxies only hope.

You see in the trailer that the ork shoota does ABSOLUTELY nothing to that damn ceramite on his armor, therefore going close for a kill with a chainsword against an enemy with no melee weapons is good call. Eldar will kill the space marine if too close with psyker powers, so if one shot from plasma weapon can rip apart a tyranid's bioarmor, it can def blow a hole in wraithbone.
