sony sent me back my laptop, they tightened the hinges and gave me an apology letter and a free cleaning cloth, pretty nice within 5 days.

It's perfectly suitable for college if you keep it in a dorm room and only carry it out to other locations for entertainment. For notes in lecture halls, not so much. For those types of laptops I would recommend a dell xps 13", or an Asus M50VM/F8 series

what sucks is its like 899 for the FW290 on the American site, but 1600 for the FW285 on the Canadian one! and theres no way to get a white one with a radeon 3650 on the canadian site...

the new FW's use a radeon 3650 with 512MB of video memory, im not sure what one the dell uses but this one is a pretty good chip.
