Don't worry, I know all about torque as it's the most important part of a swing for me as well. I'm very adamant on forcing and incorporating this with the lower body. That doesn't mean the knuckles aren't important, or that not lining them up is correct.
second knuckle lined up=better, stronger grip=bat in hitting zone longer=bat on even plane as the bat will roll over early if you do not line up the knuckles.
Coach, you are an idiot. The knuckles are supposed to be lined up so your wrists are moving together on the same plane. Pretend like you're holding a bat with your knuckles lined up, then move your wrists individually, up and down. Same plane. Now try it when they're not lined up, and move them individually up and down. Different planes. They are working against each other.
I've watched all of your videos and none of them represent a good swing. You have okay ideas but poor mechanics with them.
@MuffinMcFluffin the lining up of the knuckles is one of the least important things to hitting.

The picture near the bottom of the page is the most important thing to hitting, period. This guy has it close, with the palm up palm down theory, but the goal is to create torque. To do that equal force must be applied in both directions by both hands as shown in the picture. Then the back elbow must turn in, which is impossible with your knuckles lined up.
@MuffinMcFluffin and by turning the back elbow in, the bat will create circular arc, or as referred to on batspeed dot com circular hand path(CHP). This will create the most bat speed and the hardest hit balls will be on the outside part of the plate, because the back elbow will be turned in properly and there will be more circular arc to create batspeed on the area of the bat which will be traveling the fastest, which will be the end of the bat.
Good points coach, I like to have my hitters hold a cell phone for awhile before holding a bat and have them grip it the same way. Can see this on my video.
It's so weird to grip like that!
I think that you are holding your bat with your palm
BAD!
