@Antifaith29 I agree with you, the war is getting a bad rap, I haven't been over so I really don't have much experience with it, but it pisses me off when people say shot about our soldiers over there, they are helping a nation to get back on it's feet after these warlords and etc. Ruined their nation. I also want to join the Army... Any tips on the recruitment process?
Its great that you offer this entire show over youtube. Props to the content producers for making this series that is very meaningful and deep freely available to the public. I am currently researching my grandparents and i found this very moving.
A little ironic that this show has come out, when Australias belief in the afghan war is at an all time low, and we are losing fathers/husbands/sons/brothers to a war that's not even ours.. War is a waste of time, there to generate money for the US. If it was that serious of a war, the US would've just nuked it by now. Stop wasting Aussie lives on uselss rubbish.
@XXB4XX Ever considered that the people of Afghanistan will be taken advantageof once again by the Taliban if troops leave, Australia is there for security and to train the Afghan Naional Army, not to fight their people, learn more about this conflict before making assumptions.
@XXB4XX You obviously have little to no idea of what were actualy doing there. Was the best 9 months of my life, i got to really help people. I was involved in building schools, teaching basic carpendry to locals and protecting people from warlords and militia. Don't start with the " stupid soldier" routine on me either, believe me, i looked right into it before getitng sent over. So many people just blanket-fucking the " war". Well i have news for you, the " War" is pretty much over.
@Mraddzz What do you expect? They're going to be a grand-something or a great-grand-something, given the generation. And they went off to war young and likely not having kids, or at least their kids didn't have kids. The show is dealing with the kids of the brothers and sisters who didn't go to war.
Soldiers like these are the only people that can be called heroes and the only people that can ever be. Once i finish year 12 in which is after this year i am joining Army going to Kapooka for recruit training then im going into Australian Infantry , i want to make a difference in this world and people who do this we find them very rarely,' Lest we Forget' our Brave soldiers that gave there lives for us and our country will always be remembered.
@9AUG6 Brother dont finish up school for a spot as a grunt. you only need year 10 for that. Do something else , there is so much more on offer with the ADF. It's great you want to join up but the infantry , while important, is just one part of the army. There are trades , armoured , arti ( but theyre retarded, dont dp that lol) signals ( im a scaley) all kinds of shit. I started out as a grunt , did 5 years , trust me you'd be wasting your education.
yeah thanks for your information but if infantry is what i want to do i would rather go into that, and its the whole part im wanting to join its the only job that im interesting in and i can always chnage jobs or study in army as something if i want.thanks mate for being a part of the our army.
I watched this on tv last night. The similarities between Billy Brandis and his niece although so far apart were uncanny. Sad to know he endured all that torture.
interesting story, up to these days and age our minds wonder why do we perpetuate and glorify wars. Power and Money? Economic dominations and control? So sad that our evil minded leaders have to resort to this mechanisms to continue our survival. Treating our soldiers as worthless pawns. Forget glorifying heroism. Respect our soldiers! Use them for the sole purpose of defence, not offence. When we fight on other country soils we are commiting atrocities killing innocent women and children. Bad!
@MrPwnstar007 Thank YOU!! In world war II Our Brave Soldiers were defending and liberating other countries and ours from Japanese atrocities. It was different then. They were true heroes.
Making a game about Z Special Unit, this helped alot!, thanks a tank.

The sentence was "...Fighting back those Japanese atrocities" formally giving the assumption that he was talking about them as a collective group.

@ipra77777
your such an idiot how care you call Japanese People "atrocities"
if you actually knew anything about ww2 you wouldnt call them that
as the most highly prestigious company of WW2 was the 442nd which
was a completely JAPANESE company. Im quarter japanese myself and my
Great Grandfather died in 442nd for your freedom you should really watch
what you say.
YouDareTed 8 months ago
@YouDareTed No, he was saying the Japanese committed atrocities, not "they" are atrocities.
