I am planning a trip later in Jan to north Georgia to visit a friend and do some prospecting , I have a wet suit and would like to give it a try , no commitment though until i try it out, I was a professional prospector in Canada from 1986 till 1999

how long does would it take a beginner to gather an ounce? We have a creek in our backyard that old timers are ALWAYS panning in...

if you are good or new but, find the right spot it all depends on your luck. here in calif, i have gone to the river and came home with nuttin, and the best time i have done 4 grams. with a sluice and pan...i would say , its up to you and the equipment you have, the more better the more gold. what area do you live in?

the last blue pan you saw was called a -

"blue bowl"... its a way of removing the fine gold from the black sand and light matter. it a must have if you want every single little piece like i do..

i kept it till the end of the season and sold it just be fore the price went down. the total plus what i scraped together financed my new dredge for the up comming season...
