As for the Master Sword, it is written "Only Link can defeat Ganon", and said "The sacred blade can only be wield by one worthy of the title 'Hero of Time' ". In short, only a 'True Hero' can use it, be it 'of Time' or otherwise lofty title. And usually involves collecting 3 of something... always 3... Well, as all Gamers know, '3 is a Magic Number' lol ^-^

The legend probably means only the age-appropriate Hero of Time can sheathe the sword from its pedestal when it's at full power. Don't wanna spoil anything, but it's kinda not at full power.

Most of the kids in Zelda aren't Link in that respect. Twilight Princess for instance refers to legend just as Wind Waker does. There is no canon - each game is independent. Just enjoy them for what they are.

This was my absolute favorite moment in the game and perhaps my most favorite Zelda moment ever. The color returning to Hyrule Castle is just amazing.

And if you listen closely, the music in black-and-white Hyrule Castle is REALLY creepy. If you look for the song on YouTube it's really messed up. Luckily it's really quiet in-game.
