Not really fair to say never buy from the company. Every company in the world has problems and this was a case of miscommunication, all customers now must sign a waver saying data may be lost. That and in our store we do everything we can to help people. One bad experience shouldnt ruin it. Go to another location if anything. I work for the Source and we get stuff done to the best level we can whilst trying to make the customers the happiest we can
Didnt honor warranty? I thought you said they replaced it. but next time, instead of dealing with the store, call the repair depot. But before computers are sent you sign a waiver stating that you backed up your information.
yeah that was pretty stupid im sorry. You always back up data when you send in a laptop and before if that data is lost that is your fault an no one elses..second if you sent it in and got it back..you still would have lost your data anyway. I started working for them this week and they are very good to employees and always try to meet what the customers needs are..one bad experience isnt exactly fair to say dont shop there
ok I really understand your fustration. what was rong with your laptopto begin with? second why did you not take the replacement every six months a new line come out so your computer would have been faster and probly better than the one you had. I have seen things in reapirs for allot longer than your computer you have to understand that sometimes it take quite some time to get parts for it.
They never filled out the paper work which is what caused them to loose it. I had asked and they said there was no need. Shoulda been a red flag but hind sight is 20/20. i had it for a month and was still setting it up when it broke. The store is in Stratford Ontario BTW.
No offense, but when you sent your computer away, remember that little receipt you signed? On it above the signature line is explicitly states:
"BACK UP YOUR DATA".
Every company has one of those statements, even your beloved Best Buy. You're quite unclear about what they lost exactly. Did they lose your computer? We know they lost your data...
And without revealing where you are, what region is this store in?
Unfortunately, the extended warranty only extends the manufacturers warranty, in terms of what the repair guys will fix/replace. Also, Its The Source's fault for losing pretty much 50% of all repair items(,at least for the 2 stores i've worked for, 9524/5). They used a courier service to deliver to the repair depot. Which would suddenly "lose" a box every now and then, during transportation. This one lady lost a 700$ laptop, and we would NOT replace the item, due to negligence on anyones part
You think the source is the only place that loses shit? every company has, and will lose your shit. so you were the unlucky one, that sucks.. but it happens time and time again. blame the postal service.
the extended warrentys at the source has saved me hunddreds of dollars. A $600 laptop gets $700 worth of parts and labour repairs for FREE. Sure some people get bad experiences but the majority dont. it's life and happens with every company out there.
This particular store is really going downhill. They used to have informed staff at this store but they fired them all to save money. And the manager of this store has been bungling other people stuff as well, at least five other people I met in the time dealing with them while waiting for information were having trouble to. Maybe years ago they were good, but now they do suck. And as has been said before, the stores are going tits up, so extended warrenties are useless now.
What good is a warrenty when they don't have a computer? I did and the whole company washed their hands of it. I'm just saying for everyone, never shop at the source.
go buy from futureshop and try and get help there....

Nope I didn't. I was told they would be able to fix it in the store, next thing I know it's been sent off to god knows where.

Do you still work for them? And thanks I think you might be the first honest employee from The Source I've delt with thus far.

Warrentys are still good. For a little while at least. Bring everything in now, get all your replacements while you can.
Your best hope is to call head office, they will hound the store manager to fix the problem. He will have no choice.

There's more to this story than you're telling us.

take whatever they offer as a replacement as these guys are in deep financial trouble. 'Holding out' will equate to losing out.
