  • danny, only you can appreciate...terry, pete, yourself at pine knob...its just not the same..........Chicago screwed up, Big Time............not the same.no joke

  • The good ole days of Chicago the band with its original band members laying it down for us all. The CTA band sounds even better! The sound is much more polished and with a better competitive cutting edge then the past sound. I dig the "CTA" band.........

  • um excuse me sir/mam this is not chicago. And peter played with them.

This is cali trnsit. not chicago tranit and if you by chance made the mistake of both/and logic i disagree chicago now uses tris and jason that is chicago. if your point is about an eithwr /or. that is chicago and i hppen to disagree because it is what it was meant to be. i sure mr serphine diagrees with you as well. Peter who might disagree was a fos baby and that is simple reality

  • Chicago's own...Chicago Tribute Anthology (CTA) is THE finest tribute to Chicago in the Country...BAR NONE! Including Seraphine's CTA!

  • I bet that if Larry Braggs sang the lead vocals on "Make Me Smile", it would evoke memories of the soulful sound of the late Terry Kath. Danny's new band blows Chicago out of the water. Bill Champlin did OK with Chicago, but I felt that when he left the band he could tell the Chicago ship was sinking. He is also a great friend of Peter Cetera's. Not counting Bill Champlin's leaving, the band Chicago died when Danny Seraphine got canned, Peter Cetera left, and most of all, when Terry Kath died.

  • Danny you are the man!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for picking up the sticks again. Terry is smiling down on you..

  • che skifo

  • Chicago blows without DANNY AND PETER

  • @Billykid514 Chicago is still good, but it will never be as great as it was. I just wish Peter Cetera never quit the band, Danny Seraphine was never fired, and that Terry Kath had not shot himself by accident and taken his life.

  • @MrJayBBluejay TRUE

  • I think this sounds great, but there are two things that would make it better:

    1. A real horn section

    2. New music in the same style. It's fine to cover Chicago classics, but at some point, you could apply the same great style to new material.

  • @fiamike AMEN on both accounts!

If you are an ELO fan, check out "The Orchestra" for an example of the second point.

  • Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico. 8 de Agosto de 2009, Teatro Morelos. Rock Fest.

  • Dude, my dad is a close friend to bonilla.

  • I love that Danny is keeping the feel of the original CTA - they really sound GOOD. Good musicians, good vocals too. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Yep, I'd say Terry smiles on this...

  • Danny is the best! and cute LOL..

  • He really, really needs to find a horn section though. The synth stuff isOk but to be true to form he needs a horn section.

  • So glad Danny did this! he's always been my favorite drummer, and he's more awesome than ever. Terry would be so proud :)

  • I agree am glad Danny this too. hes also one of my fav drummers!

I was going to say, there should be a tribute band created in tribute to the wonderful Chicago band!

How about it people? You excellent musicians out there? If you decide to create something like this let me know.

Only excellent musicians should consider doing something like this.

I would work the business side to get such a tribute going.

I am a vocalist and play just a bit of percussion.

    Blessings,

    Groovin

Wonderful Clip! Chicago is just a wonderful group no matter what!

The early music was some kind of incredible... the brass section is inimitable... no one plays quite like that.

The elements of Jazz, pop, rock, r&b... I mean who has ever done that?

Some illustrious musicians have walked through this group... It is so sad hearing how fellow musicians in groups treat each other... so sad, man.

    They truly lose.

  • Wow... I stumbled on to this band in a Guitar Player mangazine ad. This is great. Thankfully they have some of the energy of the early Chicago. Seraphine is there... YES. And the vocalist, he's captured Terry's sould feel.... Southern California Purples (he sounds just like Terry to me) Great job guys!

  • I wish they'd bring him back. He has the original drum sound and Chicago redoes the classics now in the concerts, very seldom anything new. so it would be a great add.

  • Chicago has not been the same since this man left the band. It's terrific to see him behind the kit again. One of the all-time drum greats.

  • it's interesting reading about Danny's departure from both sides. Pankow says danny was fired because he wasn't dependable in keeping even tempos (even way back as far as VII)

    Danny blames Bill and Jason

be interesting to know the real reason

  • I read in an interview with Danny that a rumor of some sort got spread around about something Danny either said or did, and the guys in the band took it too far and fired him and regretted it, but was too far in with Tris to pull out from that desicion.

He says he'll keep the actual reason hidden until the time is right.

He also mentions alot of stuff he did that the other members and management took credit for. I'll give u the URL if you wanna read it.

  • I would love to know more about why Danny left the band. I used to work at Danny's nightclub in Schamberg, Il. and got to meet Danny several times. I have a feeling I his departure had more to do with the band's management more than the other members.

  • Danny looks pretty steady on this clip!! Ha!

  • no one can beat Chicago Transit Authority, but great job

  • I've listen to Chicago since the mid 70's when I was ten yrs old. I love this man! One of the great joys in my life was seeing Chicago in the late 80's. I stood behind Danny on a walk way about 20' up most of the concert (much to my girlfriends shagrin). I'm a drummer, and growing up I listened and played many many hours to Danny Seraphine. My musical Hero! By the way Chicago is not the same without Danny behind the kit! I'm definately getting CTA discs!

  • AWESOME!!

Check out a COOL interview with Danny at

  • Brother your awesome. Keep it up Danny. You have got the spirit behind you and the sound is there. You are CTA. Thank You

  • Danny Seraphine "RRRUUULLLZZZZZ!!!!!! ;0)

  • Fabulous CD..picked it up at Borders. Danny doesn't miss a beat. Guitar player is pretty good too. Keep it up Danny.
