Ok so i was having this dream the other night where i was out biking, when i got home i found it weird that i had lost my one shoe without noticing so i did a reality check, i looked at my hands and thought they looked normal and went on a bit and then woke up. But then when i woke up i realized that my thumps were on the wrong side of my hands and my finger tips were very large. So was this just me dreaming about a reality check or what?? Why didn't i find anything strange about it???
Iv been trying to have a lucid dream since July 2011! 7 months later and I still am I having trobble. I have the ability to know I am dreaming but controling them is very difficult cause my I am still not fully mind setted I guess idk can anyone help me?
You can't have any doubt about manipulating your dream. This sometimes happens to me if I'm flying in a dream. The moment I start to doubt that I can't fly, I'll start to fall. All in all, you just have to believe.
What is you're in a dream and realize you're dreaming but you can't seem to control your dream? Last time that happened I realized that it wasn't reality and I was standing on some sort of Iraqi street with a car in the end of it, all sandy and stuff. But I couldn't control my dream, I was trying to imagine my friends or objects or trying to fly but nothing worked :/ Whats up with that?
@jamnin94 Bit of a late reply, but basically whenever you become lucid, you have to try to not get overexcited. So take some time to calm down and relax when you become lucid. It takes a bit of practice, but you'll get better. And try to not to think about your body in real life - this can cause you to wake up. Instead, try and ground yourself in the dream by using all your dream senses - for example, pick up objects and feel their textures, and look around at everything. If this fails, you can
This is why I relish playing minecraft. In lucid dreams I have, I can do what I want, but cannot see what I want. I see fantastic structures sometimes and then the next day building them in minecraft. You see, in these "Lucid dreams" I can fly through these structures and see everything about them.
i have a question i used to be good at this, but then i had fewer dreams, and i tried drinking hot sauce to enduce it, it helped but messed with my sleep patrens so i stoped so did the dreams, now im trying to get back into it can i have some personal tips?
Does anyone have any tips of keeping concious/aware when entering the dream? I seem to lose it right before entering the dream, or I realize I'm about to dream and it ends there. :(
@TsumasakiIce staying calm when you realized your in a dream is key. if you get too excited you wake up. to stay calm try spinning around in your dream. learned that from reece and other websites.
If you saw inception, think about the top the dude had. Dont have the same thing, but use an object or an action and just repeat it throughout your day, then when you dream, if it doesnt work that tells you your in a dream
HELP? Can someone please help me, ever since trying to lucid dream i've been able to dream every night now. But the problem is i never realize that i'm dreaming, and just continue along with the dream. Any advice on being able to snap into reality during my dream and realize that I'm dreaming so i can actually lucid dream?
whenever i try to see if i am in a dream and i acculy end up being in a dream straight after i figure out im dreaming i always wake up. what the fuck is with that
@nomongoes probably when folks started accidentally controlling there dreams then they started to tell each other to where it reached a point where people started researching why this happened and and how they could do it manually.
@Aronbjee Noo...you have to lay down on ur back, arms aside, and oyu close ur eyes. you stay still, and your brain is gonna send like impulses to your body to see if ur ready to sleep... you'll get itchy for example. You have to ignore all of this. Then after bout 20-30minutes youll feel some weight on ur chest and ya might hear weird noises... If you open ur eyes you'll start to hallucinate. Close ur eyes, and like you'll know your dreaming. That's all I know :o
You're an extremely good teacher and you have a way with words. These videos helped me more than any other article or video on the net. Thank you, Reese. ^____^
Another reality check is ask yourself how you got where you are. In dreams there is often no specific beginning. You usualy tend to be thrown right in the middle or during some part of real action. If you are aware enough to check, try to remember the specific route or series of events that has put you in this particular place. If you can't remember or it is ocuard or makes no sense then 9 times out of 10, you are dreaming.
*im on a skyscraper i don't know how i got here i check the time and its 3:45 pm. then i look at it again and its 3:46 pm. so im like wow i must be dreaming sweet... then i look and my hands and it has colors like purple and red -MARKERS- then i say wow i must be dreaming then i see if i can breathe while holding my nose and yes i can -FORGETS TO CLOSE MOUTH- i am dreaming and im lucid! then i jump off skyscraper and falls to death! thanks reece jones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
in my first lucid dream i realized i was dreaming because i was in a car and i decided to look at the time and i couldnt make out the numbers and i was in the front. also i started trying to jump in my seat and i ended up floating lol... so thats how i knew.
I managed a few times to lucid dream, before I even knew what it was and what I was doing. There are a few of 'my houses' in dreams, that keep returning regulary. As you said in part one, those are good reminders of knowing that I'm in a dream. I'm afraid I won't notice it anymore though and think they are real, c'z they're mixtures of my actual real-life house and some pure bullshit randomness.
I'll be trying to lucid dream on purpose soon. Might listen to some binaural beats then
Is it a good idea to wear a watch that beeps every hour to remind me to do checks? I think if it trains my brain to do them... It still beeps as I sleep, it may trigger me to do a check while I actually hear the beep from reality...
So far when I realize I'm dreaming, I'm instantly taken to the floor in my room (I sleep on the floor) and I can feel my sleep paralysis. I can remain lucid for a minute or two but I can't do any thing.
I was in my parent's room and there was daylight. I was talking to them. Suddenly, I started remembering scary stuff and crap, when suddenly the lights go out and a giant zombie attacks me. The room started to flood and I was screaming. But the I started to fight it and I tore his head off. It was a fun but scary experience... It got me thinking that if you got distracted by scary thoughts while lucid dreaming it can affect your "creations"...
a guy i know said that all of the electronics in his dreamk works perfectly. the tv the cpu the light switch... i was told that electronics do not work well in dreams and i think he may just be bad at dream recall... what do you think?
I've seen some good dreams but I just can see what I do in the dream but I can't control my behaving. I can't for example watch my hands or watch my clock. that's so frustrating
@saatana4 It takes a little more than just setting your intention despite what people say
You need to break up your sleep after 4 hrs and then jump with a method like MILD or WILD - check out my home site for methods under inductions if stuck :)
@AshAlmighty123 if you're in a nightmare, first know your dreaming, then mess the dimensions of it. counting fingers is borderline, in most of mine its normal, but that may just be me
i literally almost lost my reality check (saying something about the future which is present) because somehow around september i dreamed about my memories with my brothers and it felt like i dreamed for 2 days but when we took a trip to somewhere it just shifts to the location where we're going and i never knew it, but my brother answered correctly of what happens in a few days. so I lost control of reality for a couple of days and got myself back together
The reality check thing reminded me of a dream I had once that has been impossible to forget. In this dream, I wasn't in an airplane, I was UNDER the airplane, somehow there was an undercarriage. At the beginning of the dream, therefore, I should've done a reality check, if only I had done lucid dreaming then. (I also fell out of this undercarriage getting a board game at the back). That dream was the scariest dream I've ever had.
I know this has nothing to do with anything, but Reece, your hair is awesome. Also, thanks for the video. I myself am a beginner, and I do find this helpful.
it just gets me its always teenagers that try to teach Lucid dreams, wicca, the whole world of the paranormal and all these subjects takes years and years to master ,I will say Lucid dream teacher has some decent beginners advice,
does it help one to dream by doing a repetitive action before bed? i meditate before i go to bed, would that help as either a dream sign, or anything of that sort?
what if the real world is THE dream world? what is were in a dream right now?? and when we sleep in the real world we are in the dream world so were in the real world? so we can conjure cars out of cow dung?... im confused >.<
I havent done a lucid dream yet but if you were to do a reality check in one would you just do one like a normal reality check or do you have to it in a special way
same thing like with the clock...if you read something in your dream like a couple sentences or any sort of thing like that then look away and look back and pretty much every single time the words will be different or just instead of words there will be like blobs just smeared letters
I just realized. The reason why I don't seem to ask myself questions in a dream is because I don't ever do that in real life. And everybody in the world assumes that your dreams come from experiences in your life. So know I realize why reality checks and asking questions are important. I just want to know what happens when I perform one in a dream.
Sometimes I have dreams set in places I go to a lot, except different. Like one time, I dreamed of the playground I went to when I was in Elementary School, except it had another swing set which was lifted like 10 feet in the air. And I didn't have my socks or shoes on. Also, a girl I know who is nice was rude in the dream. In a lot of dreams I know stuff except there is no reason I should. After three dreams I finally figured out dreams are screwed up.
Ahah today I had my first lucid dream (I think) and I had super power that I can burn stuff with my fingers and I could feel the heat and it burned my finger but I don't know if it's concidered a lucid dream, is it? Please tell me. Thanks :)
some timees i have a dreeam where im flying but im sranding up straight hahaha:)) i think that dreams are like a glimps of "a greater pleace"haha,, does that make sence at all?!:)) bye bye!
First today Ive really becomed interested in lucid dreams. I think its fascinating and kind of magical. I have tried it before, but only a few times when I was like 3. It was the age around kindergarden since i remember that I realized i was dreaming, in a dream where i was in my kindergarden. I asked one of the adults whether it was a dream or not, and she nodded. Then when I woke up, I thought it was reality, and couldnt wait to get in kindergarden.
Write a word on your hand and check it every hour or so. I wrote "dream" on my hand in reality and in my dream my hand said "bobbies pennies" Not sure why it said that but it made me realize i was dreaming!
it's crazy when you watch this, and realise inception came out after this. this video pretty much explains the concept of inception haha. could of been filthy rich man
when i dream and somthing is after me i just let go and relax and it dissapears for some reason (like once i was about to get eaten by a shark and i just curled up into a ball and relaxed and it dissapeared) weird right?
@TheFuzzykitten99 no not quite so wierd when you curl and and close your eyes the scene is changing at the last minute because you are telling your mind that you are scared and it changes the scene
when i dream and somthing is after me i just let go and relax and it dissapears for some reason (like once i was about to get eaten by a shark and i just curled up into a ball and relaxed and it dissapeared) weird right?
@Y2KSalty It means you are a freak! LoL, only joking. Everybody is unique, everybody is different. Some people can do it without thinking, without even trying, others will have to train themselves to do it, and others may find it impossible to do no matter how hard they try. Just count yourself one of the lucky ones.
i can always control my dreams no matter what i always know when i dream and i can do anything i want i can teleport and all kinds of crazy shit like throw fire and fly its weird i just know autimatically but very few times i cant control them y is this
You sure know a lot. This is all quite fascinating. Sorry for being flirty in the other comment, meant no lack of disrespect. Oddly, feel like I know you well enough to joke with. Ah well, thanks for the vids! Awesome stuff.
Wait... that means that no-one will be able to see this comment, because I'm dreaming... omg. I could tell them all of my secrets about my private life in the dream world and see their reactions as a test for the real world...
Wait, i should do another reality test just in case.
I've had really weird dreams where I've been near water and really scared and fallen in but once I'm in I can breath normally and start to think it's reality :)
what if im really not sure i dream at all? like i know generally people dont remember their dreams, but im pretty sure that most remember that they at least HAD one. i never wake up with any notion whatsoever of having dreamt, not just that i cant recall what i dreamt about.
can someone explain this to me.. i have a this reacuring thing in my dream that when i throw a punch it is very slow, eg if i get in a fight i will punch realy slowly.. but i never get to the end of the fight because there is usually a dream skip half way through the dream fight
@ShuffleNate lol i get the same shit its crazy i hated this kid and in the dream i went to punch him and it went so slow it was very frustrating and i just could not hit him it was crazy
If anyone can answer this question it'd be greatly appreciated... Now when I dream it's only for 5 minutes maximum, that's definitely not enough time to pick up a dream sign. If their is any type of vitamin or pill or anything that would help the information would be greatly appreciated. Or could my problem be as simple as not being tired enough when I fall asleep that I don't have any heavy REM sleep?
I always push my index finger through my other palm.. In a dream it will always feel weird and go straight through. I've just noticed that in a dream I put my left index finger through my palm and in reality I do it with my right index finger :3
Just in dreams, not day dreams... I'll be in trouble for something and in reality, I'm rarely ever in any kind of trouble. Also. In dreams I feel more emotion and stress out, in real life, this rarely happens, I'm basically always calm. It's wired, like I feel in real life how I should feel in some kind of dream, like I'm dream every day 24/7. Though, only in dreams do I ever get really mad, sad, or excited. I am way to calm, even right now. When awake I reason a lot, in dreams, I reason little.
There are days when I'll be walking around the house or out side or in a building... Randomly I fall asleep and just keep going through my day, like sleep walking. I wont remember my whole day, but I'll get straight (A)s on projects and stuff with out even trying. A few of the ways I find out I'm sleep walking and wake myself up are... I see fire burning under water in my fish tank, My mom is dead, I hear my friend's thoughts before she even speaks(seriously for real), My mouse has 3 legs, etc.
Inception is an awesome movie, though Ive been interested in dreams a long time back. I began have lucid dreams when I was little but I lost the ability to do that, I want to start over again, I want to have lucid dreams again. =D
Dreams are the way of brain to deal with sht we can't handle in real life, if u becme aware that u r dreaming u are taking away that relieve to the mind, and trust me when i say u won't like all what u may find in ur subconcient, i did lucid dreams for over a year.
@lyfzuxz I Didnt like it because lucid dreams are very different at what ppl may think, i dunno i never had the chance to discuss this with nobody, but the landscapes repeat very often in them, and sometimes it gets very claustrophobic and tense, and in ur dreams u want to rest; you can't modify the whole dream by knowing ur are dreaming =), tough i could always ended when i need it to; my experience.
@Relusiten I became interested in lucid dreaming couple of months ago, just last week i had my real first experience, I became aware that i was dreaming and decided to act upon my own free will, i felt like i had limited controll though, as much control as a person has when they are almost drunk then i lost conciousness again
@lyfzuxz Cool =) , but what happens with dreams is that they have the function to proccess the part in wich concious mind can't, that's why all in dreams is so random and full of situations we couldnt face wake up, i dont recommend lucid dreams cause u might not want to know some sh*t ur mind deals with when u r not there, dreams have a healing function.
That's just the way Inception (the film) got across the point of reality checks, in practise, your brain knows the characteristics of your totem so is then able to incorporate that into the dream. They used the totem so they knew that they were in control, not in reality/dream world, they're used because of the amount of people sharing a dream could mean the host can change things.
I hav a very simple reality check that always works for me. Whenever i glance at both of my hands together and they are distorted (fingers missing, bent etc) I know I am dreaming. So checking my hands throughout the day at random times has helped me separate dreams from reality.
You can't be that flippin'

i literally almost lost my reality check (saying something about the future which is present) because somehow around september i dreamed about my memories with my brothers and it felt like i dreamed for 2 days but when we took a trip to somewhere it just shifts to the location where we're going and i never knew it, but my brother answered correctly of what happens in a few days. so I lost control of reality for a couple of days and got myself back together

You look like that guy from The Young Ones.

I havent done a lucid dream yet but if you were to do a reality check in one would you just do one like a normal reality check or do you have to it in a special way
RedeemMedia 9 months ago
same thing like with the clock...if you read something in your dream like a couple sentences or any sort of thing like that then look away and look back and pretty much every single time the words will be different or just instead of words there will be like blobs just smeared letters
ThMrPwZ 9 months ago

Just in dreams, not day dreams... I'll be in trouble for something and in reality, I'm rarely ever in any kind of trouble. Also. In dreams I feel more emotion and stress out, in real life, this rarely happens, I'm basically always calm. It's wired, like I feel in real life how I should feel in some kind of dream, like I'm dream every day 24/7. Though, only in dreams do I ever get really mad, sad, or excited. I am way to calm, even right now. When awake I reason a lot, in dreams, I reason little.
MCthe1OriginalGirL 11 months ago
There are days when I'll be walking around the house or out side or in a building... Randomly I fall asleep and just keep going through my day, like sleep walking. I wont remember my whole day, but I'll get straight (A)s on projects and stuff with out even trying. A few of the ways I find out I'm sleep walking and wake myself up are... I see fire burning under water in my fish tank, My mom is dead, I hear my friend's thoughts before she even speaks(seriously for real), My mouse has 3 legs, etc.

Dreams are the way of brain to deal with sht we can't handle in real life, if u becme aware that u r dreaming u are taking away that relieve to the mind, and trust me when i say u won't like all what u may find in ur subconcient, i did lucid dreams for over a year.

Nokitfer 1 year ago
@Relusiten Why didn't you like it? Did you learn more about yourself than what you wanted?
lyfzuxz 11 months ago
@lyfzuxz I Didnt like it because lucid dreams are very different at what ppl may think, i dunno i never had the chance to discuss this with nobody, but the landscapes repeat very often in them, and sometimes it gets very claustrophobic and tense, and in ur dreams u want to rest; you can't modify the whole dream by knowing ur are dreaming =), tough i could always ended when i need it to; my experience.
Relusiten 11 months ago
@Relusiten I became interested in lucid dreaming couple of months ago, just last week i had my real first experience, I became aware that i was dreaming and decided to act upon my own free will, i felt like i had limited controll though, as much control as a person has when they are almost drunk then i lost conciousness again
lyfzuxz 11 months ago
@lyfzuxz Cool =) , but what happens with dreams is that they have the function to proccess the part in wich concious mind can't, that's why all in dreams is so random and full of situations we couldnt face wake up, i dont recommend lucid dreams cause u might not want to know some sh*t ur mind deals with when u r not there, dreams have a healing function.
Relusiten 11 months ago
@GeneralPeewee

@NinjaaJakeyy lawl but thats not like what u will do cuz what u will do is just change people characters

I hav a very simple reality check that always works for me. Whenever i glance at both of my hands together and they are distorted (fingers missing, bent etc) I know I am dreaming. So checking my hands throughout the day at random times has helped me separate dreams from reality.
