Good review. Interesting product. I had two over the years(the product has been around over 30 years!). One with the zippered pouch when I was serving in the Marines. I chose the single edge blade for more field-survival versatility and integral strength.
They are not very good platforms for attaching a holster-handgun to though. Back then, I wore a Bianchi Bellyband which had a holster to hide some other goodies(S&W jay frame .38), so the Bowen did not have to support the a handgun.
@longanddeadly either a folder of a fixed blade knife. Canadian knife laws are one of the easiest in the world no blade length restriction.. But they do put restrictions on belt swords, push daggers, all the autos and gravity opening knives, butterfly knives etc. But the odd thing is one could carry a cane sword if it the blade is over 31 cm. My EDC is a cudeman 324-l or 220-A. i switch between the two depending where i am going.
Drawing this knife takes at least 3 micro-movements that could prove quite clumsy in an emergency situation. Plus your pants will now fall down in the melee.
And I am not a fan of how this knife's handle would fit in my hand and it would increase the chances of it being taken out of your hand than a traditional knife handle shape.
what goes inside the robbers head.. ''okey i'm robbing this dude.. what.. why he is opening his belt? whatta?'' : D

BUYER BEWARE! Bowen knives and belts are cheaply made and they have terrible customer service. Definitely DO NOT buy from Bowen!

I like Greg Gillespie's knife buckle better.

@kthorn612 But I do like the zipper pouch as it looks like it could hold a quarter ounce of some fine green buds.
