  • I think Japan is the best place on earth where to live, but there is one sad think - the earthquakes. Anyway, Japan i the country of my dreams and I hope I will visit Tokyo one day.

  • im gald your alive, im going to tokyo in sep i hope u still there

  • You are great! I just started watching last week and I'm already hooked!!! Love It!

  • Same here, I've watched like 4 hours of footage as of yet, ericsurf6 is also pretty cool!

  • i agree with on godzilla, he is either good or bad, he is just a natural force, he does not kill just good or just bad people, his just destroy the cities because they just happen to be in his way.

  • hey cooney, have you been to Gold's Gym? I saw Caol Uno there at 6am.

  • You are great! I just started watching yesterday and I'm already hooked!!! Love It!

  • You're good. Your videos are entertaining while showing Japan and Japanese culture

  • It's always good to see you keeping up with the comments on your videos. That's a sign of someone who cares about his fans, unlike nearly everyone else on youtube.

  • I am not dead yet i can dance and i can sing, i am not dead yet...blah blah blah etc from the play Spamalot...yeah.

    GLAD YOURE NOT DEAD!

  • Reenactment was priceless!

  • Read the tags lol

  • I live in california and I'm pretty sure that we've been pretty overdue for a large earthquake too.

But I've yet to feel a large one. Only minor ones.

  • XD nice

  • Hahaha...that was the funniest reenactment that I've ever seen !!

  • your in widescreen now cooney :P

  • Well, as I said in your other video: What do you expect? You are doing exactly what you were trained to do.

Remember all the Civil Defense training we received as little kids, & the whole "preparedness saves lives" mantra they instilled in us? (I'm not even taking your Boy Scout training into account here)

    Also, loved your keywords!

  • 2:37-243 LOL

  • So Tokyo WILL be destroyed by an earthquake sometime in the future. I just hope i can travel there well before it happens.

  • Seriously? How do you know this? And when?

  • Yea geologists or whatever are saying that in the future Tokyo will be destroyed. It is sitting right over some huge tectonic plates and there is apparently going to be a huge earthquake there. I dont think they know when.

  • they have huge earthquakes every year.

They are saying the same thing about california =/

  • Wasn't it the one on Discovery channel which said that if "the big one" ever hits the majority of Tokyo (and most of Japan) will be decimated? I can't properly word it on how much I don't want to see that happening.

  • I saw one estimate that if a magnitude 7-8 earthquake hit Tokyo an estimated 15-30,000 people could die. In kobe which had a population of 1 million. 6,000 people died. The odds of dying in an earthquake are quite small. And if you die its most likely because you burn to death in a house fire, the number 1 cause of death in earthquakes in Japan.

  • Population of Tokyo is only 13 million. Most of the deaths in urban earthquakes are actually caused by fires after the earthquakes, not building collapse. But Tokyo is no longer as fire prone as it once was. Also, Eurosubstance uses the word "Decimate" which I'd like to point out means... to reduce by one/tenth. Actually statistically we'de probably lose 1/6,000

  • Actually Tokyo gets hit by a major earthquake every 60-80 years or so. In the past it has leveled the city, but that was due to fires started by the earthquake, and mostly wooden buildings. Modern Tokyo, however would likely suffer just as Kobe did when it was hit directly by a huge earthquake a lot of damage and a statistically small loss of life. But the city would NOT be leveled. Again, this is based on the experience of the Kobe earthquake which was a densely populated city. We hope :)

  • didn't you think that aliens was kind of pointless with alien 3. considering newt dies right away in that one, thus making aliens all for nothing. it mostly pissed me off, mostly.

  • Friday the 13th is Jason not Freddy :)

  • That was interesting man, thanks! :n)

  • hahaha "it shakes like a mexican space ship" classic

  • can't believe i missed this one. Equating Godzilla to a natural disaster is brilliance, it's how I always thought of it as well. I think i just called myself brilliant. MOAR vids!

  • "my house is made of balsa wood and thumb tacks but havent been killed by its collapse yet "

    lmao.

  • "What must happen, will happen." That's what my Japanese mother-in-law says about earthquakes and natural disasters. ^^;

  • "My house is made of balsa wood"

    Hehe.

  • Thanks for the video

  • *Sits in Niigata and makes a face* I came after the big ones though... the recent one only made me feel a little dizzy.

  • Haha. Opening line for the win.

  • AHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!! LOL! 3:00

  • Thanks for reposting this, I wondered where it went :D

  • An old favorite, thanks for the repost :)

  • maybe it's just because I don't understand the japanese, but I often think that japanese women on TV sound like they're talking to an audience of kindergarten kids, I think it's the tone. Is it just me?!

  • Whas this first posted in the summer of 2007? I was in Japan at that moment and I remember a typhoon and an earthquake.

  • does it rain a lot in tokyo?

  • During the raining season it rains a ton in Tokyo. Not your small, weak, light showers but its pours in sheets.

  • Thanks for the info.

  • Dang.

  • not just tokyo it rains all over Japan

  • thanks for the information ^_^
