  • After a rough week of work and an awkward day in the office, I actually was able to relax for a bit while enjoying this! Thanks for sharing! Amazingly beautiful butterfly... how lucky that you were there to see it!

  • Now I have to pee.....

  • LOL ! The design on the wings of the butterfly looks like a skull :).

  • lol first dragon fly porn,

    then butterfly pissing video D:

  • The music was a perfect choice,

but for some reason I was hoping for it to pass through ta lens where

it would look like as though it spontaneously combusted

  • WOW...

  • interesting

  • wauw mooi, beautiful!

  • Pretty cool Dan! Good to see you are still using some background music.

  • Thank you Dan and Denise! I have ALWAYS wanted to see a butterfly pee, in slow motion! Now I can sleep at night! Well, that and my kids are grown and GONE!

  • Great video!

  • This seems to show that mass and time are connected- that greater mass increases required time to do the same things. Doesn't the butterfly seem bigger than a person when it moves that slowly? :)

  • Nice Video! What camera were you useing?

    Ive got to get one!

Thanks, you always have entertaining videos.

  • I expected it to burst into flames when it flew under the lens. :-)

  • Awesome! My 9 year old daughter really enjoyed it!!!!

  • Great!

  • I love the reflection at 0:19. Nice work Dan you could be a professional!

  • Thanks for the video. I bought the same camera as I like slow motion too.It is a different world

  • bellissimo!!

  • Wondrous!

  • omg... i can hardly believe this is real! What great footage.

  • I have been more increasingly concerned lacking of mental stability , LOL LIKE IT THO

  • simply beautiful. Love the slow motion shots... it looked so graceful compared to normal speed.

  • How can people dislike something so tranquil?

  • Nature is awesome!

  • that was nice

  • Way cool! I always enjoy your videos. Don't ever lose your curiosity and wonder for science and nature---they can ultimately lead you to their creator.

  • Nice!

  • Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. That's the best slow motion footage of a swallowtail I've seen in years. Thanks for post this vid :-)

  • I would have laughed so hard if it got too close to the parabolic mirror. lol

  • dude, that was beautiful. I love the music.

  • still amazes me how that once was a completely different animal.

  • Very Nice video. What type of camera you used? Cause the video is incredible.

  • @Mentronyc

Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1 at 300 fps. It's in the description.

  • @TheMick26 oh crap, I didnt read the description lol. Thanks

  • DID YOU SEE THE SLOW MO PEE?!?!? Awesome!

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • I was afraid this might happen....

Dan made a huge circle of magnets

and it worked so the oil company had him killed

    ...hence....

no Dan....just a butterfly in the vid...

oh the humanity of it all!

  • looks more like a Giant Swallowtail (Papilio cresphontes)

  • @jcbonilla77 I think you are correct!

  • Stunning :)

  • Wonderful video! Elegance and unimaginable beauty smushed with some biology..transition was a little jarring, but I enjoyed it. Thank you for posting!

  • an amazing slow motion video and I appreciated watching it. Thank you! :)

  • Hey Dan,

I'm just getting into amatuer macro photography and "nature" videos and wanted to compliment you on the beauty of yours. Wonderful videos! Keep postin' 'em.

    Thanks,

    Mick

  • Very pretty butterfly and well done video.

Now clean up all the broken glass before some poor kid walking barefoot gets hurt.

  • @TheSunergizer Not glass, that is where we recycle broken acrylic. No kids:-)

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE actually... why no kids? :)

  • @mustgetlife Too expensive, we like sleep at night, small house, or friends who were holdouts like us that had kids informed us "you do not know what you are missing, it is great, do it!"---not believable, terrible acting:-) too expensive, no time to do much else than what we do, we work about 14-20 hours a day 7 days a week, also too expensive

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE How sad. No future Solar pioneers from the Rojas.

Hope I didn't come off as too harsh on the broken plastic. Always enjoy your vids. If money is part of the problem, maybe some mass marketed Solar kit for children to play with.

OR, design and build something that people will buy, and then install them.

  • @TheSunergizer sorry for the bit sarcastic response:-) just joking. We were pressured for years from our parents and almost everyone we knew, they could not understand why. Now that our niece and nephews have all grown up from other siblings they understand. We do okay with our website, but an addition would not fit. We also work all day, everyday. The joy of owning your own business, no vacations, no sick days, no maternity. If something big comes our way, maybe, but not a big desire for us.

  • I was waiting for it to fly though the beam of a Fresnel lens and vapourise mid flight.

  • Impressive filming! :)

  • beautiful! very nicely filmed. thanx

  • Then he flew across the parabolic mirror and burst into flames.

  • @BurelPhotography that's what I was thinking too lol

  • it didnt wash its hands... gross !

  • damn you take videos almost as good as national geographic. you just need a tripod

  • This butterfly likes the camera... it should it's very photogenic

  • Every once in a while nature sends you something special, this one is a keeper. Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.

  • Vivid colors, good camera work; what's not to like !

  • You captured the beauty to my satisfaction! Well done! :)

  • @abelhassen :-) Thank You.

  • ::wHAt if it PAsseD THrough the focal Point of onE Of Your fresneL Lense::

  • chocolate covered butterflies

  • awesome

  • cool!

  • Are you using the standard lens that came with the camera or a HD lens? or is HD just a setting? Look forward to more slow motion videos!

  • @czechys Hi, HD is just a record feature. The slow motion is actually an SD setting. The Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1 is a good camera but a bit slow with some feature. Once set the High Speed is good and the HD quality is very good too.

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE thanks for responding quickly, I hope I can get a camera like this in the near future, I know there quiet expensive.

  • Wow, really neat!
