I agree as well. He mentioned that a lead singer quit before Sam. Why not just say it was R.H. Harris? Also, he says that age took its toll and Sam left. The only change during Sam's time was adding Bob King as guitarist and then Leroy Crume after King died. Other than that, the group was the same when Sam left as when he joined. Also, Sam was only with the group from late 1950 until April 1957, just over six years. And Farley died in 1988. That's about all the history I have room to give.
So you think I've got the blues huh? Well, maybe so, because this beautiful music sometimes does make me feel happy and sad at the same time...Greetings from the U.S.A./Texas
It's an insult for the narrator to refer to
Rebert H. Harris simply as "their lead
singer quit...". As far as I'm concerned
he was the greatest male Gospel singer
ever.

@LoneTinaja
Hopefully it was for legal reasons, or something like that.

This is a terrible history of the group. No mention of R.H. Harris? Come on...he was the lead singer from 1939 until Sam Cooke joined in the 50's.

I agree. The were quite successful before Sam Cooke. One of my favorites.

Sam without question did his best work with the Soul Stirrers.
Their great recording of "Wonderful" is as good as it gets.
