  • Hey, nice performance, dude!

the overall handling of your leslie simulator seems to go pretty well,

managed by your hands, at least.

Some moments, your fingerwork gets a little sloppy when changing main motif/melody tones, but otherweise you play quite well.

I don't like the playback too much, there are no vocals inculded at all....kinda sad, for this is what makes this Neil Diamond-Hit what it is: a diamond.

    Keep up the good work!

    Greetings by Pianojoe from germany

  • @P14N0J0E Thanks for your comments Pianojoe, regarding vocals, well I agree it would be nice with vocals, but if you heard me sing you wouldn't be saying that!

    Keith

  • @P14N0J0E This was a Mamas and Papas hit, not a Neil Diamond hit.

  • Can you please do "Waves" from Denis Yost and the Classics?

  • @angie4josh Sorry I don't know the song.

    Keith

  • it is great how you play the instruments!!!Can you tell me the MIDI "registrations" of the XK3? I have graet difficulties to connect my Hammond XK3(=a XK3 as a spinet organ) with the Tyros

    THANKX!!!!!!

    Ton

i do hope you can help me

  • @bonfire Thanks for your comments. The way I connect the Tyros to the XK is, XK Midi settings are Top Ch1 Lower Ch2 Bass Ch3, I now only use the lower Ch2, then over to the Tyros (midi in A) press Function/Midi/Edit scroll to Receive and uncheck everything accept CH2, set this to KEYBOARD, if all the other parts are OFF the lower manual of your M44 should play the Tyros with whatever sounds you have selected. If you press the bottom C (black key) as you switch on it with be touch sensitive.

  • What style did you use for tyros?

  • Do you think the Ventilator Leslie is better than the built in simulator of the XK3?

  • @25musicmaker A Big Yes, and so do hundreds of other clonewheel users. The Ventilator has been the most talked about item on the Yahoo Groups clonewheel forums, and is still selling like hot cakes.

  • @cheshire1uk are you using the hammond stand just curious i didnt know you could use it with out the lower manual

    cheers

  • @Denvermorgan2000 I am using the Hammond Stand, and yes you can use it without the Lower manual, I built a support shelf to fit behind the XK3 for The Tyros. All gone now, I'm back with the Lower Manual again and the Tyros is on it's own stand, although I have them conected via Midi.

  • @Denvermorgan2000 I use Anvil Studio for working with midi files, then import them to Table Rock Sound (if available)and watch the melody being played in Keyboard view. Otherwise, it's just the bass line

  • Really nice version. Great sound. Love this tune. Great job!!!

  • @2GoldensTosa Thanks.........Keith

  • wrong chords

  • @magyarposta1 Would that be the Am followed by G - F - G - Bm7 - E7 - F - C - E7 - Am - E7 etc etc etc.

  • Beautiful. Takes me back to some great memories. Great sound. That Hammond looks like a fantastic instrument. The Tyros sounds great. I hear the TY 4 is coming out around October or so. Will be interesting to see what will be onboard.

  • @Halunlimited Thanks Hal, no T4 for me, I like to be a little bit behind, it's cheaper, might be my time to buy a T3 though when all the people with money to burn go for the T4!!

  • @cheshire1uk Are you using the Tyros for the background rhythm here? If so it is a preset factory beat or did you have to make it. Thanks.

  • @Halunlimited The backing is a Tyros 2 factory preset.

    Thanks Keith

  • @cheshire1uk The Hammond sound is totally unique. I love hearing it. Do you ever use the Hammond as the keyboard input into the Tyros (since the Hammond has more keys than the Tyros) or do you always play the two separately?

  • @Halunlimited With my current setup, which now has the XK3 lower keyboard, I can play all of the Tyros from the XK3, however because the XK3 does not respond to after touch, some voices are best played on the Tyros keyboard.

  • @Halunlimited I hope so maybe i can get a good deal on a t3 lol

  • Oh boy, the audio quality does it real justice. I love the rhythm patterns also.

    Leon

  • @myaccordionhistory Thanks Leon.

  • cool man

  • @DaBossDK Thanks again. Keith

  • absolutly beutiful sound from the ventilator i just come sometimes to listen to this song i enjoy it very much.

  • @Denvermorgan2000 Thanks a lot, I must admit the Ventilator has transformed my XK3, and the sound is really nice, although YouTube's compression does spoil it a bit.

    Thanks again Keith

  • Brilliant treatment of this beautiful song! I ordered a Neo Ventilator recently - just got word tonight that it's been sent. I'll play my Nord C1 through it. I also ordered a Behringer Xenyx mixer with the Vent, as I want to be able to use headphones. I was glad to read your Hammond half-moon switch works with the Ventilator; I'll do the same with the C1's. Can't wait! Again - GREAT playing!

  • @TheOrganiston9th Thanks for your comments, you will love the Vent. I use a small Yamaha mixer and use headphones late at night, something you can't do with a Leslie!

    Thanks Keith

  • Wonderful sound!!!!! i have a hammnond xk3, can you say me the configuration please???

    THANKS!!

  • @mdemikel Hi, The main reason for the improved sound really is the Neo Instruments Ventilator, which simulates a Leslie 122, apart from that my XK3 is probably the same as yours.

    Thanks Keith

  • Hi Keith,

I'm thinking about buying the XLK3 lower manual and wondered if I could pick your brains.

Have you ever put the Tyros on the two manual set-up, and if so is the music rest too far away? I have the extension brackets that bring it in-line with the Tyros LCD screen.

I've been using the Tyros as a second manual but it's not very convenient to play but the sound is superb with the Ventilator.

Any words of wisdom? Thanks, Keith ( Up the A55 )

  • How'd you get the half moon switch to work with the pedal? Did you wire it yourself (given that's the mode of operation)?

  • @ThatsABiggon

Hi, It's a Hammond Suzuki CU-1 Half moon switch which is plugged into the Vent, that's all there is to it, works great.

    Thanks Keith

  • What is the Ventilator --? who makes it --?---Who sells it--??------Great music----Charlie

  • @crazypainter56

Hi, The Ventilator is a leslie cabinet simulator, made by Neo Instruments Germany, probably the best, and certainly the most popular, available at the moment.

    Keith

  • Nice:)

  • Thanks

  • 5 stars. Your video does what it sets out to do. The Ventilator is just amazing isn't it.

    Couple of questions....

How have you placed the Tyros on top of the XK3 without its falling off the back?

And have you got the xk3's split on the bottom octave to control the auto-comp?

What midi channel are you sending on?

Nice playing :-) Keith, regards Keith.

    P.S. Please upload some more.

  • @rotosphere2000 Thanks for your kind comments, I love the Vent it's transformed the XK3. I have the Hammond stand with the XK3 lower manual conversion, I thought I would try it like this, so I made a support for the stand to hold the Tyros, it's OK but I am now considering changing it back and putting the Tyros to the RHS. My Midi settings for lower XK3 Tyros control, are Channel 16 and ditto on the Tyros, however the accompianment for that song was sequenced in the Tyros.

    Regards Keith

  • @cheshire1uk I have an xk3 also i was thinking about getting a ventilator it really sounds good in your video im impressed i got to have one now.

  • Thanks, I can't praise the Vent enough, it's transformed my XK3, go ahead order one, you won't regret it

    Thanks again Keith

  • Great job. Keep up the good work. Not too many keyboardist's could make that song sound enjoyable.

  • @cinema104

Thanks Tom, the main object was to show off the Ventilator Leslie sim, don't really know why I picked that song, but I'm pleased it turned out OK.
