  • What oil should I use for a 3.5 HP Briggs on a lawn mower?

  • you know there is a cap at the bottem of the lawnmower right? and by the way if your carborator is opn the side your tipping on its going to flood

  • Nice MKIII Jetta and good video

  • AHAHAHAHA!!!! XD What a dumbass! (The guy who said it don't start).

  • not bad for an amateur

  • wow less than 5 mins and it starts.hahaha

  • I bet the guy was cleaning it and got oil into the cylinder. See the blue smoke when you first started it.....the second time it didnt do that. Probably had the plug fouled and wouldnt start.

  • the only reason i do that is because it gets all the crud better

  • Lol, this remainds me of a person who said his VCR is completely dead! When my father came to his house he saw that the plug was not plugged in the power source :D This happend in early 80's :D

  • Hello CE :P Now thats fucking hillarious, it runs just fine! Yeah, he don't know how to start a lawnmower alright. To be honest, it don't look that old dude! ITs good that you are doing a full service for him though, oil change, new filter and all, good deal. This video was entertaining, thanks for sharing!

    Peace :)

  • Thanks :) yeah he takes care of my house, so I take care of him^^

  • sweet VW

  • you should really run the mower for a bet so it gets hot befor you change the oil

  • sometimes it can get to hot to fast

  • ah man I completely forgot that step I usually do do that.. oh well lol

  • Excellent maintenance.

  • Ha, the guy must not know how to start a lawn mower. Anyway Do you rent out that little brown house? Just wondering.

  • Yeah the Guy Who Doesn't Know How To Start A Lawnmower lives there :P

  • Second pull and it fired right up! LOL

I wish my mower started that well haha

And I have a question. Can car oil, like 10W30 be used in a lawnmower?

  • Yes.

  • 5w30 in winter 10w30 in summer

  • just to let you know( and i just figured this out too...lol) on the bottom of the motor, under the deck there is a plug u screw out to drain the oil... just letting you know for next time. :-)

  • Oh yeah I know about the plug, but it's hard to remove while holding the mower up so sometimes I just do it the lazy way out the dipstick :P

  • "Guess he doesn't know how to start a mower" LOL

It might have intermittent spark, sometimes coils go on and off Dad's lawnboy does it.

Come on.. you know you should heat up the engine before you drain the oil.. it'd drain way better.

There's a better way to pour oil from a quart bottle, look at 3:08 in part 2 of my oil change video on gooddiyvideos. It lets the air into the bottle easier and doesn't "chug" for a smooth pour. haha

might want a new plug in it..

    overall good vid though! :)

  • I have a couple coldstart videos of it already, but I will make another video of it when I do a tuneup on it^^

  • Hmm, that happens to me with Audio repairs, when I get to look at what I'm supposed to repair, it seems just fine to me! The owner usually just gives up and thinks there is a problem with it! Fun vid Dan...
