@blackbone330 I suck at having favourites, Ippo is something I'd estimate to be in a very high percentile of quality and badassery, so you are my bro blackbone.
@dragonballzthebest Wikipedia is telling me it's "Hekireki" by Last Alliance, DBZ.
Makes me wonder if Tuan is an Ippo fan or heard of song through some other means. Ippo's amazing for me, and hearing how it was partly inspired by Ashita no Joe got me into that prior boxing one too.
I hope s3 begins, I want to see Ippo v. Miyata 2 so bad and have him take on um... Mexican guy, forgot his name.
I have a question Tuan. First off, you are a very respectable athlete in my book, I too am a natural bodybuilder like yourself, I don't compete tho, it's just a hobby. My question to you is for your concern. When you do behind the neck pull ups, it puts the shoulders at an irregular stretch, won't that cause some damage to your delts and rotators cuff? I know a few people that went through that, that's why I'm asking you this.
Hey Tuan, does form matter when you do pull up? Is it okay to squeeze in another rep with bad form when you're tired? Thanks. :) Btw, your videos are motivating and inspirational!
@johnsonx19 Helps to target the muscles on a back double bi pose and helps me learn how to engage them while posing. You will be amazed how are it is to pose your muscles sometimes. I do this variation to teach me how to connect with those muscles better
@SKazclaw I have over 20 one on one clients, work 6 days a week and sometimes have to train up to a dozen clients in a day. on top of that I have about a dozen online clients work with All this before even to getting to regular things like shopping for groceries, cooking my food, laundry. I dont have alot of time in a day, but I make time for what is important. As for my training, it could be has high as 2 a days 5 to 6 days a week or just 3 workouts a week. just depends on what my goal is
what is the rationale behind limiting the range of motion for pulls up as you do in this video? isn't working a greater amount of muscle mass in one exercise more effective in muscular hypertrophy?
@YourHeartIsTheKey not going for myscular hypertrophy right now for I am in pre contest bodybuilding mode. When it comes to making muslces grow, range of motion is needed. However, then you looking to target certain muscle groups, sometimes limited range of motion is needed. Also, if you lock out your arms during a pull up at the bottome, you will move all the stress that is in your back to the long head of the tricep. If you are looking to keep the stress in the back, dont lock your arms
Tuan, you are the hardest natural body builder and your body is amazingly well built. I'm very impressed and inspired by your hardwork and determination to achieve your dream. I am very proud of you, bro! You deserved to win the competition! My vote is you are the first place and Darin the second place. Good luck and I know you will kick ass at the competition. You are the Man!
@cthulhex You want to convert your weight to Pounds, and at at LEAST 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. The standard is between 1.3, to 1.7 grams of protein, for every pound of bodyweight you are. So, in your case, you weigh 67 kilos, which is 148 pounds. So, if you get between 150, and 180 to start off, if you're still not gaining, you will need to go to about 200 grams of protein in a day.
sorry for too much comments .. see a person has to speak a certain amount of words in a day ... i was too busy studying .. but i have to get this load off my chest and speak and talk whenever i have the chance to finish my daily dose of speaking :P
and btw .. amazing workout u did .. i really think u have advantage over the rest in cronus u have that athletic natural thing .. like u do everything .. a complete athleate .. i wish i could pickup strength so i can just do pullups some day in the future for my workout .. cuz after like10 - 10 - 3 - 2 -1 -1 pullups i die and can't do shit .. i don't think they DESTROY ME cuz i can still do sets on machines ..
hehe .. i just finished my LATS routine today .. i started with 10 wide grip pullups for warmup ..then 10 close grip pullups .. then i couldn't do any ( only 1-2 ) :P so i went to the machine and did 3 sets of 90KG .. i dunno .. i'm 105 KG .. i can't do pullups after the first 20 .. but i can do 3 sets on the machine on approx. my same weight .. AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG HERE ?!
Tuan I haven't seen you doing BB Rows that often, do you prefer doing pull/chin-ups and deadlift? Or is it simply because you haven't really uploaded them?
I read on a news paper article that having a strong grip releases more testosterone because back then when people were swinging on vines grip was very important obviously, so isnt it better to do pull ups with out the straps to develop a stronger grip? I cant seem to find the article on the internet right now but if i do ill send you it.
@xAznnique yes and no. When I train for powerlifting, straps are not used for any excercise. However, bodybuilding is a different sport when many times, my volume of sets are 20 to 30 and many of the sets can be very long depending on tempo reps, total reps, supersets...etc. Without the straps in this case, my forearm will give way before I maxed the back out. Also, consider how much stress is on your brachioradialis everytime you grab and lift something, if overtrained, injury may happen
". Without the straps in this case, my forearm will give way before I maxed the back out."
True, but is that not also BECAUSE you train with straps? It's not like your forearms can't get any stronger anymore right? Isn't it a good investment to get them so strong/durable so that your less dependant on straps in general? I'm not hating, you look awesome (you know I think that) but just logics imo...
Obviously, before a show there's not enough time to condition the underarms that way, so I understand you use straps. But lets say it's off season to bulk up, wouldn't it be a good goal to get as independant -as possible- from straps?
@SinisterSkip when powerlifting, i do not use the straps except on things like rack pulls where the weights is far beyond my grip strength. As for the power vs endurance aspects of the brachioradialis aka forearms, they can increase in strength when it comes to gripping power but are limited on endutance. Example, hang on any bar as long as you can, the limiting factor is not the power for you can hold yourself in place but the endurance of how long you can hang.
@SinisterSkip tools have a time and place for there use. know when to use them is the key. one must not under or over use them. Considering when it is time for me to do a meet and I am deadlifting 550 plus lbs without straps, I believe I have a good understand when to use straps in my training through out the year and when not to use them.
@roughneckasian Tuan, I've always wanted to increase back strength especially for pull ups and chin ups. Do you think i should use bands? or do you know of any better methods please?
Man your training is really unusual from the typical bodybulding routine like chest one day then back another day. Have you always trained this way or Is this a way to shock your muscles?
@avatarcollides2day my training changes depending on what I need to work on. Also, as my body adapts from increased strength endurance, faster recover time...etc, I have to find new ways to push my body forward. Alot of times, I reasearch programs such as elite soldiers, olympic sprinters, gymnist, boxers, powerlifters, elite distance runners..etc to to see how I can apply their training to bodybuilding.
