@sindrirune You sound like kind of a jackass... albeit with good intentions. The dog is too happy to mind being cold- he's probably hot from all that running. Are owners supposed to be afraid for pets to have fun for fear of uncomfortable sensations? What would really be animal abuse: making the dog stay inside alone and watch everyone else play with a toy he clearly loves. Contrary to popular belief, humanity has not had central heating and air sine the beginning of time.

@mintydeluxe : that's only the case if you keep him outside for a looong time. Just an afternoon playing outside and running as this dog does is no problem at all. Most of the jackets for dogs are for the single fun kind of dogs (greyhounds, whippets etc.) they need a sweater/jacket when going out into the cold for a longer time. This one clearly doesnt.

@sindrirune It looks like a Lab/Dal mix--they are perfectly equipped to deal with cold conditions. The only reason "Sled dogs" need thick coats and extra thick feet padding is because "cold" in Alaska/Northern Canada isn't like "cold" anywhere else. When they say you need a sled dog up north, its because temperatures can reach 60-70 below freezing. Typical cold whether (Snow) is fine for any "large breed" dog to be out in.

@sindrirune That dog knew they were comin' & he stayed where he was so he could retrieve that sled that he wanted. Had he not wanted any of it, he would of headed for the house & begged to be let it. Had a Beagle/German Shepard mix growing up who loved to play in the snow with us. Not as rough as this, mostly tag & rolling in the snow. He loved it.
