  • Well yea, it tires you right out lol

  • lmao the guys with the hand auger almost fall over from exhaustion near the end

  • go gas

  • My buddy just baught an electric auger.. we love it 10 times better then a gas one.. here the ice never gets thicker then 2 feet.. and we can drill 3 holes in the time people have theres started.. in my opinion ill never buy a gas auger.. his has a built in chargable batter and it will drill all day

  • I bought my 1st (& hopefully last ) gas powered ice auger the other day; it's a Strikemaster Magnum (81/4"),used it yesterday & it worked Great (don't EVER want 2 go back to my hand auger

  • how do you like the electric, thinking of getting 1, what does it all come with, battery cables for battery, wall plug, etc

  • well i wouldn't get it cause if you can't bring your car out onto the lake due to thin ice then you have to bring a generator or charge it before you get on the lake. in my opinion, power auger is best

  • So the fish were not biteing then I take it?

  • Wrong, we already had our limit, DUH! Gosh!

  • wasn't even close-got to get one of them power augers

  • I would get a Jiffy. I have an 8" Eskimo and it does cut holes, it pisses me off alot. You get the tiniest bit of junk in there and it won't run right.

  • Jiffys are a heavy ass piece of shit. Get a Strikemaster.

  • hi ihave a hand held augar and my step dad was using it and bent the blades any idea how to bent then back to what there suppose to be at?

  • Sounds to me like you need to pull up the skirt. That would cut it down to 5-7 min.

  • hey,can those two guys give me any tips on using a hand auger, because i have one and it takes me about 10-15min. to drill one hole threw about 12in. of ice

  • Make sure your turning it in the right direction.

  • bahahahahaha, thats a good one man! :P

  • New blades

  • push straight down on it , and get some new blades, thats what happened to me even little nicks on it make a huge difference

  • Dont press down too hard. Just use the one hand to guide it straight and use the other for power.
