I saw the show in Sacramento CA. Times were tought economically and Yanni allowed a large number of tickets to be sold for an unbelievable $10. It turned out to be the best live show I've seen in my 53 years. I think of Yanni now as not only a great entertainer, but a great humanitarian.

I went to the show at Nokia Theater Grand Prairie, June 14 2009, and I would go again , no doubt about it, it was a great experience!!! At the end of the show, Yanni came back and played not only one more song but 2!!! amazing.

I just went 2 the concert last nite and I hav 2 say the show was BRILLIANT & OUTSTANDING. Especially the end...don't leave early by any means! Or u'll miss the best part!! But ha! I won't give it away :). The whole show was a mix of original yanni music & the voices so there's a little for every taste. Im still on cloud 9...never has music given me so much goosebumps lol. Also lost my voice from screaming so much especially at the end ;). I honestly feel sorry 4 the people that dont get to go.

Last nite i attended this concert which was AMAZING!!! It was a mix of the Voices and the original Yanni music so there's something for every1. I preferred Yanni's Music without the vocals, some of the vocals just dont fit with the songs. Plus i always thought the reason why Yanni's music was so amazing was because he didnt need to rely on vocals, the music was able to speak for itself.

I discovered Yanni when I came across his 2004 concert on television. I was truly amazed with every single song. I would listen to the same songs for hours and appreciate every moment of it. The instrumentals were incredible, and voice was used at the perfect moments.

That 2004 concert is superior to this one in my opinion. I was expecting him to do another concert similar to 2004, but with some new pieces and different instruments. I'm a bit disappointed; not crazy about the voices.

I had the goood fortune to view "Voices" on PBS and will be attending the live show in Tampa, FL Easter weekend. Yanni strikes yets another master stroke by combing his classic numbers with voices--and in three languages at that. His gift as a producer as well as a musician -- being able to find the very best people at what they do -- has always amazed me. No doubt the concert will be a tour-de-force of music, light, dance, song, drama...total performing virtuosity. I, for one, cannot wait!!

Never forget what was said earlier in times of Yanni being great with "only" instrumental music:

That the human voice is just another instrument that ever (!) seemed interesting to him. Look on "For all seasons", where Michelle Amato did a very great job on vocals. Yanni did integrate sooo much instruments yet, why not the voice as another instrument? As force18unleashed said - Yanni wouldn't do it, if he himself were unsatisfied with it.

Adagio in C minor at 0:25 - 0:56 is stunningly brilliant with the addition of the vocals. However, I have to admit that adding voices to some other pieces of his music didn't always sound as appealing as the original piece.

I too am sorely disappointed. I mean, the Ethnicity album was beautiful, I know it's the album that made me fall in love with his music; but what made Yanni so unique was that he proved that words cannot transcend or convey emotions better than the music itself. There are some very beautiful voices in this video, but I won't be attending this concert, I think I'll just stick to the classics that made him a household name :)

I agree with you Hokabelle. I don't know why people have marked down your comment, because it's merely ones opinion. But, I too won't be going to the concert because I'd rather enjoy listening to the music alone.

Maybe it's because we're used to Yanni's music being that way originally. Adding voices doesn't give it the classical feeling that it originally had.

But I still LOVE Yanni people! :D
