  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO MOST BCOZ THAT DOG IS SO CUTE

  • who is this? the ultimate geek

  • naw nice doggy!! :-D

  • I have a router and a hub and 3 computers are connected ,so can I use open dns on all 3 computers? and do I have to set my dns on the router only ?

  • @Jed9133 depends if your router has dns forwarding. you can set 8.8.8.8 for primary and 8.8.8.4 for secondary... that's google's public dns service.

  • @xaznkraziedudex 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 is googles isnt it?

  • I hate this guy

  • nice dog:)

  • this guy never helps me out, actually he makes it worse...not to be hating, just saying

  • i hate that this guy never put link about sites he talks about in his video so u have to find it manually.

  • look at the writing at the bottom they type the links

  • Whats wrong? You're scared of a lil hard labor?

  • OpenDNS is mostly bad news, and not fast like they claim. Use 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.1 as your DNS if you have trouble with your ISPs DNS.

  • Hi Chris, I stumbled across your video about open DNS by accident. i decided to try it out and amazingly it not only worked but blocked porn sites. this will be so useful for all my friends who have children and young surfers. Thanks so much for sharing this information......Sweet.

  • how did you find that out lol

  • nice dog !

  • I'm running my own DNS server at home, and it forward the request to OpenDNS

  • a dog

  • this sounds like an infomercial lol

  • ok for the people who dont believe this go to the geeksquad website and then on the search box type in speed test, they will show you how many mbps you are receiving and how many mbps of upload you are receving

  • noob

  • does dns is safe?

  • I started to use this. :)

Meh, no noticable drifference, but really more secure. :)

  • I might be missing something, but Firefox takes longer to "Look up" a Domain Name with OpenDNS compared to the default one I was using before.

    Am I missing something here?

  • it works people it really works amen thank you so much

  • Everybody, DO IT NOW. This flaw was just exploited against Time Warner in Southern California. It is starting.

  • What are you saying ? it isn't a flaw, its the way that internet works, E-connections have been hijack for years.

  • It was exploited.

  • what about if u are gaming online?

  • is it better than static ip?

  • Can open dns work with broadband modems provided by tmobile or cricket?

  • If you have broadband, it will work. No matter who supplied it as OpenDNS is its own DNS server (or way) to surf the web

  • before i changed my setting i was trying watch your video and it kept pausing i am on cable now it working great fast speed. i would never of would of known about that site unless you did this video. thank you again

  • thanks for video help my speed

  • Your dog is so cute!

  • and so is his dog

  • i think thats what his dog is there for

  • Yeah and he's self-employed, moron. He also used to be on tv. You don't contribute anything to the earth other than carbon dioxide, so take a hike.

  • at least his is big enuph for him to suck unliek your were its so small it cant fit inside

  • wow i douted this shit, but it actually works ppl quit hatin on this guy, this WORKS :P

really, it does, my youtube vids load faster than befor, i download waay faster now, like, DAM, seriossly, this shit WORKS

  • Its all true...it makes ur internet speed faster

  • What the fuck r u on about

  • Yeh he does hes a freakin nerd

  • lol no need to say that he isa nerd they just ecpte that they r.

  • jealous because he knows what hes talking about.?

  • lol i'm answering my self.

yes he does just sit there and make lots of shit up

  • chris is an uber merchant. he's not going to detail words in the topic necessarily. he's going to marry his intelligence with salesmanship.

And guess what? He's very deft with it.

Thats what is irritating you. His m.o. (modus operandi).

  • does it increase download speed? lol probly a stupid question

  • i switched back because it took away my "I'm feeling lucky" feature :(

  • just use 4.2.2.1 & 4.2.2.2 they the best dns servers. From old verison level 3 servers.

  • yes. I use em whereever I dont get dhcp

    easy to remember 4.2.2.1-6

or to make it look better 4.2.2.2 or 4.2.2.4 :) they belong to Verizon

  • I use it, and it makes Safari snappier :)

  • well, I use Open DNS now. I saw this as it was being recorded, and it scared the SHIT out of me (technological issues hit me hard for some reason).

  • hehe the dog was looking at the camera. :) I'm going to get opendns right now.

  • i love opendns ive been using it for 2 years now, very safe good for kids.

  • It keeps away the gnargles

  • I tried giving my firewall a lecture to make it work better.. didn't seem to work.

What does it mean "talk to your firewall"?

  • what would we do without chris!

  • can any1 say a hacker sniff my passwords with this flaw?

  • I had no idea about this, Chris. Learn something new everyday. I'm definately going to check this out now that you've said that people should be on top of this. Thanks so much for the info!

  • I totally agree with the below comments. It is nice being secure, but it is slower than my Roadrunner DNS Servers... Security is nice, but I haven't noticed any of the symptoms from what you were saying. Besides, I have NOD32 running in the background; and the powerful Vista firewal (plus the firewall in my router). I think I'm secured. :)

  • Now Chris, Your assuming OpenDNS is uncrackable, uninfectable, & immune to errors. And YMMV with speed on opendns vs your local ISP. I do like the features OpenDNS offers and the price is right. My experience is faster with local DNS though. OpenDNS does offer some nice security features for end users but I would not describe it as the be all solution for you DNS worries. I would at the very least use them for diagnosing a DNS problem.

  • I've tried OpenDNS a few months ago. While it's nice to know that it's probably more secure as you say, it was slower than the DNS servers provided by my ISP (Verizon DSL).

  • A Non-Live chat room would be a Forum.

  • umm i don't really have a site...

do i still have to do this?

    some 1 please reply!!!!

  • Great piece of info and directions.

  • looooool at wicket from 2:42 onwards :P

  • haha yep

  • nirvanakcteen dude he's running Mac

  • chris is this true that you are anti pc?

  • thanks for the warning chris. im now protected. thanks

  • HEY! stop spamming.

if this is the only way you an make money, than Im sorry.

    and besides,...pc's suck...and i have a mac!

  • r u talking to chris if so he doesn't work for open dns and also he has 2 macs and doesn't like pc's

  • you do realize that he's running vista on a PC that is connected to those dual 30 inch monitors right? he doesn't "Hate" PC's, he just prefers macs.

  • No thats a Mac Pro on the dual monitors, look at the grey bar at the top.

  • yupp.. its actually a mac..

  • he runs VMware on vista.

  • Thank u very much. I never knew about this. Thanks Chris

  • Open DNS may be interesting for US Users... for the rest of the world not so much. ;)

    Greetings from Germany.

  • im glad i had this from before

i dont have to change it

it was simple and easy to do

  • wicket~~

  • Depending on your stuff, I presume is works. I've just changed my settings and it definitely does seem a little faster.

  • haha, it does not make your internet faster. My ISP has horrific DNS servers, and they blow away that service. Granted, the best part of opendns is that it allows you to block websites and whatnot based on blacklists. But, still, there are better ways, such as local blacklist software...

  • cool.

  • website, can you post it ??for dns you tlak tooo fast

  • "Makes your internet fatser"

    lol
