you have some crazy skillz man, do alot of ice skating my self and you have inspired me to try some new tricks p.s 5 people slipped on the ice and clicked the dislike button :D
this is awesome! i cant find xtreme skates anywhere. i have regular hockey skates. will those work? if so, what kind of cut do you use? I normally use a 7/16 cut on my skates.
Powerfull moves just the way I like to skate. My question...Whats the track (song) in the background. I keep playing the video just to listen to the track ;-)
You're doing a rather good job doing those tricks and spins on hockey skates as it's rather hard doing a lot of that stuff without an edge on your blade! :D
How do the people who sharpen skates take hockey style skates and give them a 1/4 hollow radius? I never heard of any hockey skates at the shops having edges on their blades.
All skates have edges so long as they are sharpened. Every skater likes a different ROH (radius of hollow), depending on their needs. Xtreme Ice Skaters like deep edges whereas figure skaters and hockey players, not as deep.
Now I remember as when I took figure skating lessons I never liked deep edges as it was hard to hold an edge when I landed, and it was hard to control the landing for me if the guy at the pro shop got my edges too deep.
Thanks. Your hand will be automatic but your leg has to swing and you have to commit your body to the turn. Be careful though. If you mess up on the Eclipse, you can get really hurt.
Yeah, I work at the local rink and have some hockey protective gear, but its not very easy to maneuvere in. You know of any stores that I can pick up some decent pads at?
Yeah. I wear a Roller hockey girdle when I skate, and it's by Mission. It's orange, though I think they make them in different colors. I bought it at 'Play It Again Sports'.
And the girdle I have has removable pads. Leave the side pads in, the one around the top of the waist, and the tail bone. The front pads and the back ones you can remove which will give you more maneuverability.
You really motivates me Dan, and your teaching videos help me a lot! Im working on a new trick. I will make a vid, and I will post it to you! I hope u liked it, becouse you motivated me to create it, so you will be a "part" of it! If you undestand what I mean. :)
cool, thanks I eventually brought the 5k's and have been pretty satisfied with them since, good skates. I don't know how much better the 7/9k's are though :|
Make sure your knees are at a 90 degree parallel level or higher. IF you can do that, you will be the first to land fakie 720's. Also, make sure the landing is not cheated. Add in an Air flow if you can, or at least an attempt at one.
Brooo, yu make it look so easy - that was fun ta watch! :D

only 360 and 720 looks nice, but it's not hard for inline freeskater :) other very easy.

@demitelix It's ten times harder on the ice. Record yourself doing a 720 or Fakie 720 on the ice and I will believe you.

Email me and I'll give you the link for the skates. I think they're 700 dollars. I use a 1/4" cut. If you're jumping a lot, hockey skates will break.
Prolite 2 years ago
Dude, that was some pretty sick stuff, what kind of skates are those?
stepahn276 2 years ago
Thanks. They are called "Xtreme Ice Skates".
Prolite 2 years ago
Are they custom made, or can I get them from a store?
stepahn276 2 years ago
They are custom made. You have to buy them from the manufacturer: "Klingbeil". Email me for the link to buy them.

Been skating for over 14 years, and played street hockey for one summer when I was 13.

Your amazing. I know your using the RBK 9k pumps but do you think that the 5k's are any good?
macsftw 4 years ago
They are good but they are not as stiff. If you are a high level skater, than buy the 9k.
