This piece was transposed down. You should mention that in your notes.
It's too bad the girls chorus sing in that awful belt style, since you are singing in your head voice. They don't match what you're doing...it's like they're from a different show.
Hmm. This was ten years ago in high school and I wasn't aware it was transposed down. Perhaps the school chose to do the Linda Ronstadt revival version. The girls were told to give the daughters character which I think explains the odd singing. I agree it's distracting lol.
What does "up your ass" mean? I make it pretty clear this was the highlight of my voice, as I've grown rusty since then. Do you speak to people to their face like this, or are you just being vulgar because you can hide behind Internet anonymity?
Hi DaughterxOfxBlaze, good luck on the recital. It's normal to be nervous of course, but my vocal coach always insists it's more important that I relax. Even more important that concentrating. As soon as you tense up, you constrict the muscles that need to be loose. So try to relax and let your muscle memory take over. Break a leg!
I know what you mean. I got into a musical recently, but my audition was horrible because I was so nervous. One thing that helps is to try to get into the acting portion. If you are busy just feeling, then your muscle memory will take over the technical part.
absolutely amazing singing! i played this a couple of years ago and know how difficult the breath control can be on some of those repeated notes but you sounded gorgeous!
Sorry for the delayed response, but thanks so much. I didn't do much singing after high school, but am back in voice lessons now so I don't lose the skill entirely.
that's an awesome song for musical theater sopranos. we did it i think 2 years ago and the girl who played mabel was amazingly talented. it's such a difficult song to sing and gives u a chance to really show off ur pipes. high D--very nice :) definitely want to see the next vid of u in this.
