I highly doubt that
because that applies to Bill Gates and Microsoft ever sense Bill left and Steve Balmer was in charge, Microsoft has been doing poorly in the Corporate world since only a hand full of companies are actually going to update to windows 7, and the rest are still staying with XP, and Windows server 2003. And if you didn't know Corporate customers are where the REAL money comes from NOT from HOME USERS.
Are you saying 41% of surveyed businesses planning on upgrading within the first year of Windows 7's release is poor (taking into consideration the current market conditions)? XP's adoption rate was 13%, and Vista's was (is) 9%. Even if Windows 7 is only adopted by 15% of business, that's pretty good.
BTW, what was Snow Leopard's expected adoption rate? Somewhere around .01%?
No where close actually, since you're comparing the adoption rate amongst upgraders. Google how many Leopard and Tiger users have upgraded instead of making things up. Windows will still be in the lead, you'll just look like less of a tool.
What? No. Jobs was absent from Apple from late 85 till 97. Jobs is currently still at Apple but recovering from liver transplant. He is supposed to make a public appearance before June is over.
He was fired shortly after the introduction of the first macintosh, i won't bore you with the details but the thing is that in all that time apple ended up at the end of bancrupcy the products were terrible, then apple bought next a company steve had started and that's when he returned to the company, that's what you are seeing here.
He did have cancer but that's not the reason he was out of the company,
steve has done more for computer education that any other man, I bet that thanks to him some guy in logistics over in africa can coordinate shipments of food thanks in part that one day 30 years ago steve W and J decided a computer should be for everyone and not just big corporations.. think a little
what i meant with my comment was to reply this "Ten years later he surprise planet earth with the incredible and revolutionary iPhone.", i agree computers are a huge help to the world, what i replied to was that guy that said the PLANET EARTH was surprised with the incredible and revolutionary iPhone like the iPhone was any help to anything important, i love what jobs has done for helping the world with technology, but that AngelChildxxx said the world was blown away by a phone? i mean get real
The board of directors thought he was reckless, then he went off and started NEXT, he developed and designed Operating System on it, then In 1996, Apple announced that it would buy NeXT for US$429 million. The deal was finalized in late 1996, bringing Jobs back to the company he founded. He soon became Apple's interim CEO after the directors lost confidence in and ousted then-CEO Gil Amelio in a boardroom coup.

Steve Jobs fired from the company Woz helped him create, hired back in an act of desperation by the board. I wonder if Steve has done the same with the people he has (probably had other people) fire? Say, for example, now former employees from the Mobile Me team? Maybe some iPhone 3G RF engineers? How about a corporate attorney or two? SJ also stands for Shield Jobs...as in the person, not employment of course. They should have hired Wozniak back instead.
Stabbed in the back? Sure, Steve was hurt by that, but from what I've heard, he didn't treat his employees well, and he has now said that being fired from Apple forced him to change his views. It was probably for the best.
Steve Jobs brought Apple back from certain doom and made Apple very successful. He's such a driving force in Apple that I wonder what would happen to Apple when he decides to retire or otherwise has to leave Apple. I'd worry Apple would start to go downhill again. Recently I've heard that Steve Jobs' health is in question, which has made me nervous.
Well, if Steve left Apple, Apple should going down. When Bill Gates retires, it's the time when Microsoft ends its role to the society, and supposed to go down. same thing. it's not a tragedy. It's the way it should be.
I would have to kindly disagree. There are so many Apple users, and Apple makes a good product, so it would be a shame if Apple went downhill just because their CEO left. They can always find another CEO.
bill gates has a limited input now and microsoft are still number one. who would have the money and time to create a different operating system to compete with windows?
Well for one, the Linux community has the time, and they don't need the money since they're doing it in their own spare time. Linux already has a presence in the business world and is starting to make inroads on the desktop (at least, it seems to be getting more peoples' attention).
linux is never going to be as big, microsoft is a household name and nearly every new pc is bundled with their software-what percentage worldwide do you think uses linux?
Well, we should count home users and business users as 2 separate things, because Linux is more popular in the business world than for home users. For home users, probably no more than about 2% use Linux, but I know there are quite a few businesses, web servers, etc., that run Linux. IBM uses and supports Linux on their servers. With big companies like IBM behind it, Linux usage surely isn't going to shrink. And I doubt Windows/Microsoft will be on top forever.

The next Microsoft OS will be out in less than two years - and you call that standing in place? Microsoft has also taken surface computing to the desktop, etc. Linux/Ubuntu? Common you're talking about 2% of the PC market...
I never really saw anything revolutionary from Microsoft.useing the Mac OSX or Ubuntu feels better then useing the Windows, for me at least. They are giving something more. Microsoft isnt trying hard enough cause the Big market share they have. They think its granted but oneday one of these OS's are going to push it down from its place.Oh and maybe they are giving out a new OS in 2 years thanks to the failer of Vista but befor that they didnt do anything for 5 years.I think you get what I mean.
if apple went down when Steve Jobs left, then i wonder what is going to happen to Microsoft when gates leaves... will Microsoft fade away and apple take the scene, or will it be Linux?
Microsoft has such a big marketshare and such a big presence that I think Microsoft will be just fine without Bill Gates. However, I think the disappointment in Vista and the recent attention given to Mac and Leopard has helped to shrink Microsoft's marketshare and has gotten more people to look more seriously at Mac. Linux is popular too, and I think it will continue to gain popularity as a free alternative to both platforms.
i used to think that, but now since apple is doing a lot better all they need is some1 who has a similar way of advertising at the keynotes like jobs. Its not easy too find some1 like jobs. But apple most likely has thought of this subject already and have made plans for the time after steve jobs.
He went and founded another software company called Next which formed the basis of what would become OSX, and he bought Pixar and grew it into the most successful CGI animation company around then sold majority shares to Disney. He's a brilliant businessman who demands perfection.
He also founded PIXAR Entertainment the company to produce Toy Story, Bug's Life, Monsters Inc. and Ratatouille among others. PIXAR was later bought by Disney through swaping stocks, which made Jobs the biggest individual Disney shareholder. Another success that widely goes unnoticed.
He took over the team and equipment from Lucasfilms and then founded PIXAR, true. However the business concept to produce feature length computer animated movies was his.
desconozco sus habilidades a la hora de programar, pero es evidente el don que tiene para saber vender y convencer. Es un excelente comercial que sabe llevar la máxima de la "innovación controlada"hasta sus últimas consecuencias.
Indeed, fucking idiots who let him go for 12 years, amazing feats from steve during the last 10 years but imagine where we would have been with him at Apple all the time. All hail Steve! ;D ... Jobs! ;D

He is been working at NEXT - his own company after he left Apple.

He didn't found Pixar...he bought it from Lucasfilms and renamed it that

He took over the team and equipment from Lucasfilms and then founded PIXAR, true. However the business concept to produce feature length computer animated movies was his.

You gotta admit he's a visionary and a genius, even with all his personality flaws. Bill Gates is not.
rickcain41 4 years ago 16
Mr. Gates just does not have the experience that Mr. Jobs did, thats how Microsoft is.
EuroCarfan00 4 years ago 2
Well, Gates started in Albequerque.

desconozco sus habilidades a la hora de programar, pero es evidente el don que tiene para saber vender y convencer. Es un excelente comercial que sabe llevar la máxima de la "innovación controlada"hasta sus últimas consecuencias.
