  • is it me or does he have a slight chorus to his vocals?

  • The most EPIC song! I love it!!!

  • what kind of snare drum he used? good sound

  • Dom isn't the best drummer in the world, but dude, he is awesome

  • the refrain must be insanely hard to perform! and impossible to cover.

  • @Eximious94 Lots a songs from Muse are actually quite hard to cover without looking like a stupid chicken.

  • this isn't loud enough

  • i always like all those flags being waved around in muse concerts!

  • 3 dislikes are from Muse themselves cause they didn't want people to know that no one hates their songs

  • Oh my god this song is so good. Is it true that they are never gonna play any song from OoS live? If thats true im gonna cry

  • @MrDrProfessorPurple bliss plug in baby feeling good and citizens erased will still be played

  • @troymellor thats pretty much the only songs they have played live from that album with maybe microcuts in there aswell. i will be gutted if they have ditched citizen erased for good, seen them twice and they didnt play it either time, its time for muse to ditch support bands and play 3 or 4 hour sets hahaahahahahhaha

  • @troymellor oh thank god. I really would have loved to hear screenager live though it's my favorite song

  • @MrDrProfessorPurple Leeds and reading festivals were the last time they were played live

they might surprise us i the future but im afraid thats it for all of the other songs off that album

  • 3 Bieber's fans didn't find Muse good.

  • flawless.

  • i need to wittness this masterpiece live

  • OH MY BELLAMY *O*

  • Modern day symphony.

  • The keyboard in the chorus makes this song sound so pure and divine.

  • I love how this song has changed over the years. the riffs and the piano part. 2001-2004 made it sound awesome, and I know some of yall have the Helsinki Finland 2003 live version of this song too. This performance is great as well. you can tell that they still want to play their music for us

  • i love how the synth is playing during the 2 chorus' , it sounds AWESOME

  • makes me cry beautiful

  • You're the best channel of youtube !

  • Love the vocal effect.....

  • "wowpen minded" i love you Maffoo

  • Damn, that is one sexy intro

  • Is this the only song where Matt doesnt use a Manson?

  • @Akawe94 It is a Manson, just another model :P

  • @CarlStare93 but I think I have seen that guitar in early times with this song so I thought it wasnt a Manson

  • @Akawe94 No it's manson alrite. He only uses it for this song. It has 7 strings im pretty sure.<3

  • @ChocolateSmith88 Yes, it has 7 strings. Manson originally built it for a jazz guitarist, but the guitarist changed his mind so Bellamy bought it. The original recording of Citizen Erased, though, was recorded using only a six-string guitar (presumably turned down).

  • @Akawe94 he always uses manson

the only not-manson guitar is ibanet destroyer witch he uses for usually small print and uno(not always) and agitated(i wish he played this )

  • @MagicHetero you are right although this paticular manson he uses in this song technically isnt 'his' model, it was built for a customer who ultimately didnt want the guitar in the end. matt happened to be on the hunt for a 7 stringed guitar and said yes to this straight away as he was desperate for one and also it sounds amazing :D

  • @MagicHetero he's used more then the destroyer: Fender Aloha Start., Gibson Les Paul DC Lite, Gibson SG, Emex Londaxe, Ibanez Iceman, just to name a few. Since BHR Tour he has started only using Mansons before that he used more.

  • That drum kit sounds amazing...

  • Good Video... Simplemente Genial Jee

  • Best post-absolution version for sure

  • @MrDinhoDC

yeah much of his high notes are pitched sounds kind of electric....like a similar way of auto tune but he is still one of the best singers out there

  • I am a states muse fan. A true muse fan. And I really wish they played this over here more. I've seen them 4 times. I want this. And showbiz tracks too. I wish they bring those back eventually. Can't wait for Reading and Leeds vids!

  • I'd die for that guitar.

  • I dont really like Muse but...... I FREAKIN LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

  • 37,000 VIEW CAN I GET A PRIZE LIKE A PRIVATE CONCERT!

  • Wish I could turn the volume up further..

  • eu escutei essa musica pela primeira vez e ela e muito boa

  • hahaha chris is sky high :D

  • Best band 4ever!

  • matt simply cant pronounce 'hold your stage' :D:D

  • @spagetti001 Although he does at 3:36...I think it's a first for him

  • @spagetti001 haha yeah he basically says hole yo stay!

  • Oh my God!

    This is wonderful, amazing, INCREDIBLE!

  • 1:06 BASS SLIDE !!! :D

  • 2:53... INFINITE MUSE. =D

  • lol dont hate that 1 disliker he have somekind of problem

  • who the fuck is that 1 idiot who dislikes this!?!?!

  • I can't believe my friend! He says this song 'over uses squeals in the intro'!

That's what makes this song friggin awesome

  • @simonluigigreen it's alright, he doesn't know they're called harmonics so he's stupid anyway

  • Matt Bellamy must be one of the must musically gifted persons in the history, and my true idol!

  • Matthew Bellamy you are my idol! This performance cannot be worded only watched

  • Personally glad to find a live version that includes the backing chorus synths in it. Always gives the song that extra epicness

  • 0 people pressed the wrong....wait, nevermind.

  • this song always gives me a tear :') masterpiece!

  • this song always gives me a tear :') masterpiece!

  • beautiful song

  • You can never have enough of Matt's falsetto. ;)

  • Mind blowing, sick, actually no single word can describe this

  • 0 dislikes on a YouTube clip. Says it all.

  • At 3:00 Matt says ''I still wanna be...'' ?

  • 0 assholes :O

  • Pro Tools Fail @ 1:44

  • @ExesForEyesMusic: Vox FX run through the sound system is what it sounds like. You can hear them before that too. Probably because his hands aren't free to cup the mic to give it that soundbox-esque sound.

  • since 2010 I kinda get the feeling that especially matt is returning to a very "Origin of Symmetry"-esque mood. way he plays, way he uses his voice. This very performance is so much like the hullabaloo version from 2001. The very new Muse to me have passed the Resistance era and they will keep experimenting with sound, mood, themes and ideas.

    I love those three guys.

  • muse have become perfect. just 14 years after battle of the bands

  • 0 dislikes

  • @wiggins1992 spoke too soon my friend

  • @wiggins1992 3 people ruined that...

  • I remember sat on the sofa watching this and the started playing Citizen Erased and I literally spilt my drink everyone in excitement :L

  • This is an awsome performance. But it sorta looks like dom is wearing the shirt matt wore in the knights of cydonia video lol :P

  • 0 people missed the like button.

  • @BestNameEvar and it better fuckin stay that way

  • Surely one of most grasping performances of any band in the last 20 years.

  • sucks for the guy hugh manson made that guitar for... if i saw the guitar that was made for me being played by the greatest guitarist playing one of the greatest songs ever

  • The vocal harmonizer/modulator thingies sound sweet.

  • great song..like this song very much..especially the ending part..

  • Wow thoes revamped synths really up the epic to 11 xD

  • YOU DO LISTEN TO THEIR CDS AND YOU ARE SPEECHLESS AND THEN YOU LISTEN TO THEIR LIVE PERFORMANCES AND YOU CAN'T BELIEVE IT THAT IT'S EVEN BETTER...

  • Muse's best song..

  • lol... Matt's moving at 0:50 :D

  • great song + great band = muse and no one else

  • Epic. This is a legendary performance. They are the rock gods of our time.

  • When people say they don't like Muse. Its never a question of why, Its HOW?

  • @02pete It's more like HOW THE F*CK is it possible?!

  • @02pete ... but who doesn't like muse?

  • @02pete Never understand it either, cant appreciate good music eh

  • @02pete muse are too good for people who dont like muse. muse fans probably have the strongest minds of humans to be able to cope with the pressure.

  • @02pete who do you know that hates muse? everyone i know loves muse including my grandparents!!

  • 110 Likes 0 Dislikes Yay

  • When I saw them Live I had no idea what this song was.....I do now :D

  • Only one word: masterpiece.

  • its matts first manson :D

  • i freakin wish i could go freakin watch them live............freakin

  • the mic effect makes his voice sound awsome !

  • just. beautiful

  • if anyone presses the dislike ill shoot you in the face :)

  • MASTERFUL. Only 7 songs from the first three albums though, Showbiz, Origin of Symmetry & Absolution - timeless epics. Need more old Muse..

  • my fave muse song of all, it has everything in it! :)

  • Love this version - can really hear the synth! And the flares add to the epicness.

  • i dont think it was the best preformance of this song but still love em

  • this was epic last night!!

  • Man!

  • i hope they play this in manchester next week.

  • Muse have headlined Glastonbury twice, and yet, as Zane Lowe once said, they still retain a cult following. They have hugely succesful live tours + play the worlds best venues + festivals, but they arent right @ the top of the charts or anything, and theyre sales arent incredibly high.

It just goes 2 show that volume of sales does not equate 2 volume of talent.

    Muse ultra talented.

Most stuff @ top of charts = shit

    =)

  • In 2004 the corwd ws better..

  • i hate it when people hate on muse's new album, it's just different to what they've been doing. true, you may hate on it, but i think it's just as amazing as everything else they've done

  • I know we all prefer the older stuff, but like it or not.. compare something like Muscle Museum or Sunburn's views to that of Uprising or Undisclosed.

It's no competition, personally, i blame twilight. lol.

  • @AtheistCole forgot hypermusic....

  • best song of MUSE

  • oh my god am i fucking depressed? cuz that made me so sad... no not because it was "terrible" but because it was so genuine... for a moment there i actually felt as though Matt was singing the lyrics TO the audience ("exhausting for all, to see that i still wanna be, what you want and what you need") instead of FOR them :(

  • @MyMelon13 yeeess i also notice that i got like awww cuz the real words are to see and to be what you want and what u need... and here he changes it to to see .. i still want to be what u want and what u need like it hits this song more than ever awww i catched that i guess u also but yeah cuz i think he said he just got out of a relation and the next album will be more personal cuz of that :D

  • wiiiii México's Flag!! xD at the beggining!

  • You couldn't argue this sucked. Phenomenal performance from Muse. Ok, maybe The Edge took a little bit away from the emphasis on Muse's music, but then again, that was one of the best moves by any band in recent history, and the inclusion of this, made it a Glasto performance to remember from Muse =)

  • The guy who lit the flare is my new best friend....

  • They should just do one massive gig with 30+ songs from old ablums to new then everyone would be pleased. Including B-sides and extra songs, they should also do Exogenesis in full.

  • @Sj1h haha would be amazing but they physically couldnt lol

  • Their perfomance was good but setlist was poor. They havent played some of their older stuff in over 4+years they last played showbiz 4 years ago and muscle museum 6 (i think) they need to get rid of Resistance Guiding Light and MAYBE Supermassive and Starlight since they just dont have that impact.

  • @Sj1h Yeah but Supermassive + Starlight are more than worthy. Starlight is always a crowd pleaser - a stadium sing-along - and of course, Supermassive is their most successful song. They do have a huge impact.

The problem is that the promoters + the label will wanna see their new album being promoted the most, and so some songs have 2 go.

  • @RoLLWithITOasis1 And besides, Matt says that Showbiz was a bad, rushed album. He hates it, which is a massive shame, because there are some amazing songs there. But, you have to admit, pound for pound, their succeeding albums are better.

But, yeah, if I had it my way, Showbiz, Muscle Museum and Sunburn would be regulars =)

  • @RoLLWithITOasis1 But i feel that they would loose some respect from some fans if they ditch some of the old classics in favour of the new not as good stuff. I would rather go to a gig with a good mix of both old and new but not if the setlist is compketely made up of songs that are played at virtually every gig. If when i go to the wembley 11th gig and they have a good mix then id be happy.

  • @Sj1h I know what you mean. In a way, there's a downside to Muse's talent: They have too many great songs to fit into a setlist xD!

  • Has there EVER been a Muse appearance at Glastonbury that wasn't legendary? I submit that there hasn't been.

  • his falssetos are still too good to be true

  • Yeah the setlist kinda sucks ...

Take out Guiding Light, Supermassive Black Hole, Starlight, Where the Streets Have No Name, and put in Butterflies and Hurricanes, Bliss, MK Ultra, Take a Bow, City of Delusion, Micro Cuts, Muscle Museum. Imo

  • @wbrycem And dont forget showbiz and megalomania. and some b-sides aswell like the groove.

  • im ready to die now.

  • The solo on this particular version of CE makes me cry... it's SO BEAUTIFUL! Absolutely perfect. My life is good now.

  • Perchè non l'hanno fatta al San Siro??????PERCHE'??????Invece di quella merd* di Neutron Star Collision...facevate questa Museeeee!! :'(

  • This is the 1st proshot of CE since 2006 at Shepherds Bush Empire!! I LOVE that you have uploaded it in HD its soo just such a great song :D

  • @jkcheese Thank you, I will correct this mistake. About Glastonbury, I think this is one of their best performances in a long time. What is wrong with it ? Setlist ? Performance ?

  • @MuseLiveVideos Both to be honest. The performence was rather lazy, Muse can perform better, but they don't like they used to. Back when they *needed* to perform well they were so much better. And the setlist aswell, I hate The Resistance songs live, because they can't perform them that well. Not that i have a problem with the album but the songs are rubbish live, especially Uprising and Resistance. The also ignore the Showbiz era which is more annoying and they ignore the fans nowadays.

  • @jkcheese this is a festival show, not a muse concert. of course they're going to play songs from their most recent album, because there's a better chance of this more general audience to recognize them rather be like WTF. someone else commented on a glastonbury 2010 video saying they were glad muse didn't play exogenesis pt 1, because that is far too "out there" for this festival. if you're gonna shit on any newer songs, do it on Guiding Light (or possibly) USoE, not Uprising or Resistance.

  • @jkcheese i agree with you, they do ignore showbiz. and i would ignore showbiz too, four albums later.

they've always ignored fans to a certain extent. i met them in denver once, and they had an attitude about them. not necessarily egotistical, but certianly not humble. they were just sort of real. it would be difficult to take that onslaught of praise they get to heart. oh, my band changed your life? oh awesome, you're the 100th person in this line to tell me the exact same thing.

  • @MuseLiveVideos Yeah, most of the setlist did suck.

  • @MuseLiveVideos setlist! man, i saw them the other night, and like theyre amazing, greatest band ever, but they always seem to play the exact same songs.

  • @MuseLiveVideos

I wouldn't say it sucked. But it was sure disappointing. Setlist was the same as arena shows with the exception of this song and the U2 cover. This gig would had been saved if they decided to play maybe Ruled By Secrecy, Sunburn, Dead Star even?? But they decided to play guiding light and feeling good. And compare this to Glasto 2004, this sucked alot more in comparison.

But hell i still love Muse :p

  • @MuseLiveVideos

Sorry, this is probably pretty silly of me to say, but this comment is just a brilliant reply. So many people would be tempted to say 'WHATCHA SAY OMGOMG YOU NO TRUE MUSE FAN NOMNOM' but you obviously saw no point in an online hassle. Haha, just had to point that out. Thanks mate!

Oh yeah - This performance is brilliant. Love Origin of Symmetry all the way.

  • @MuseLiveVideos

I think he meant Glasto in general..

  • anyone who said anything in the earlier videos from this show about matt's voice being a tad shoddy needs to watch this and stfu

  • @YourGuardianEngel Matt's voice is shoddy nowadays..he relies on Chris quite abit if you notice and he's alot more lazy than he used to be with his performences espicially in singing.

  • @jkcheese I disagree with his voice being shoddy nowadays, he seems to have FAR more control over his voice if anything. I think Matt uses far less effects for his voice these days showing that he's more comfortable with just the natural sound of his voice. You're only noticing Chris more because of the years the mix has become more balanced and this is by the far the most complete performances of CE in my opinion as the musicianship, sound, vocal performances are just spot on!

  • @MattTrueLoveMusic He never used to use effects at all. Its actually nowadays for things especially The Resistance album you can notice they put alot of 'artificial' stuff in it. You can see this by the way they perform the songs from the album live. The album and the live versions are not nearly the same. Where as back in the day, Muse's live was better than the album version. I definatly think Citizen Erased is a keeper but they must put more aswell into there setlists and there performences.

  • @jkcheese One of the reasons they don't play old songs like Muscle Museum (from the showbiz era) is that matt lost the effects pedal for that song. "never used to use effects at all" uh-huh. sure.

  • @YourGuardianEngel he lost it? i'm pretty sure that's not why they don't play it. because it was a whammy. and he has like three on stage.

  • @dekanbackward according to musewiki: "As of January 2010, Howard revealed on TripleJ radio, Australia, he'd like to play the song live again, however, due to Bellamy losing the required (rare) effects pedal for part of the song, it's been left out of rotation so far.

    "

  • @YourGuardianEngel it's a whammy, and a line 6 space echo. i can't imagine what that's refering to.

  • @dekanbackward /watch?v=G_RuEP_ktOQ

  • @YourGuardianEngel i stand corrected. but i feel like if these guys can do it, muse can. /watch?v=4b48apECGBw

  • @dekanbackward i do agree that it's certainly within the realm of possibility, i just hope matt will be okay with it being less than perfect (in terms of its trueness to the original) & i'm pretty sure all this talk of pedals and effects was to show that showbiz era muse did have SOME use of effects, but yeah, you've got Matt, with RATM being his favorite band ever, he's extremely influenced by Tom Morello & his use of effects. To criticize him & his influences is well...idk, confusing to me ?

  • @YourGuardianEngel i don't understand why someone would be against effects in the first place. i've never understood that argument.

  • @jkcheese yeah, he does use a whole lot more effects now than he used to. but i'm a huge fan of that. but his voice is stronger now than it's ever been.
