I agree with everything you said except that our leaders didn't see this coming. Not totally true, they helped create it in the first place. It's a contrived scheme, same as in 1929, after the market completely crashes they will buy up the mortgages and other assets at the dirt cheap price, and sell them at a huge profit. Since his death, the greedy people in Walmart's corporate structure took the items sold in their stores that were made in U.S.A. & went to China to copy-cat them at a much lower cost for profit. I'm a small business owner too and am on the cusp of laying off some employees that are vital to growth. We're growing but rate of growth won't support the overhead as expenses rise. Can't get a loan from anyone right now to bridge to ROI when the economy bounces back. Time to pay taxes too. It really sucks right now.

My business is down 50 %, I have had a good nest egg put away for rainy day but with the market is so severe your nest egg drasticly gets sucked away. Instead of spending their spare time frantically shopping or golfing or boating or racing around, they will have to spend time at home because they won't be able to afford the gas or the hobbies. That sounds like an awesome idea! The only problem in my case is that in my neighborhood, there are LOTS of elderly as well as families with LOTS of small children. I see obesity everywhere as well. I have a feeling that the workload will be shifted towards a very small percentage of the people in my neighborhood who are able to work hard.
