Excellent video! Thank you so much for allowing us to share this time you had with your family. Such a wonderful idea. We are going as a family for the first time to disneyworld this summer and I think I'm going to steal your idea, if that's ok with you. I would like to get an external mic for my gopro so as to get better song while still in the case. Again thank you for an excellent video!
@kd7gvd I now use the GoPro Hero2 which has a mic input. I then use a simple teeny shotgun mic sold by SoundProfessionals which has been created for cell phone videos. By the way, it dramatically improves cell phone videos. Please send me any other questions you have before your at Disney World adventure.
Very enjoyable. I watched it all yesterday. I took a break at 39 minutes and returned later to watch the end. The Louvre was so noisy and crowded and hot. I too would not have enjoyed that and it made me tense just watching it. A private viewing would be the only way to really appreciate that art. It was beautiful in the smaller town, away from the crowds. Today I watched the first couple of minutes again and then I watched your return. So it was as if you hadn't been anywhere. Lovely family.
I laughed out loud at your great trumpet-and-snare-drum music choice for re-entering the States. When I got to the very end I was surprised to see you were 70 at this time--wow, love and creative endeavors have kept you so young and full of life! I love the way Providence delivered and you harvested all the perfect little sound bites and gestures to turn experience into meaningful experience, without didactic voiceover. David, I am SO grateful to have you as a video mentor.
Looks like you have a great family--I love Heidi's laugh and confidence, and your kids' smart observations, and your wonderful dad style. You remind me of my own husband, 17 years older than I, who loved his kids and had so much fun with them, right up until he died at age 62, his youngest child 9 years old. His cancer diagnosis is what got me to purchase my first camcorder. Sure is something to have those precious memories on the record. Oh yeah, I like your improv songs too.
@fritigoerd Thank you for your question. I think you are referring to my reaction. The kids reaction was understandable. It isn't really for most kids. And I love teeny museums where I look at a few wonderful things rather than the overwhelming part presented at the Louvre. But my wife Heidi could've stayed all day. David Hoffman–filmmaker
Thank you for sharing this video. It's wonderful. I traveled Europe in 03 when I was 18 and this footage brought back many memories that would have been lost. Thank you. You have a lovely and incredibly warm family.
What a wonderful video. It's really nice to see the love in your family David. The perspective is really cool, and your children have both qualities of you and your wife. I love the quality of your recording. Looking forward to your next adventure.
Lovely! Would that every tourist had so much respect and enthusiasm.
Where are you going next? Tous les meilleurs souhaits!
