  • I think its the lack of polish thats a turn off for many, in respect to kotor 2. Story wise, its really interesting...at the start. As the game progresses, its like the developers knew they were short on time and the tightly woven plot sort of just unravels and the game ends with a whisper.

  • I am glad that Kreia died at Malachor V, i would not stand seeing such an amazing character as her being ruined on this mmo.

  • 0:18 to 0:50 is beautiful

  • Whoever came up with the "bright" idea of continuing Revans story and the Exile's after Kotor gets a big "FUCK YOU" from me. "Idiots" didn't they know that it was the personal story that every fan applied to their gameplay that made them awesome i say it again "idiots".

  • like all Star Wars games/shows/films and the soundtrack playing in your head when you read the books. Simply the best.

  • Why so much hate on TOR? It's a great game and you aren't forced to interact with other players. Plus it's not just vague refence to Revan. You are able to fight HK-47 and Revan in the Foundry flashpoint which is another Star Forge.

  • @dieall37 See? That is the problem.. Revan had an amazing storyline and was described as being one goddamn badass motherfucker, he was power, it was like staring at the heart of the force itself.. Well, until swtor turned him intro a huge giant faggot i guess.

but it's an okay game i guess, i do play it, but i and alot of people will never forgive what they done to 3 amazing characters..

  • @Matadore223 There's also a cult that follows Revan's teachings on Dromund Kass where you can get the Revanite title. Plus the voice actor for Vette is the same as Mission.

  • @dieall37 I knew this already pall, this is WAY before you kill him..

Also, his voice actor is the same as Kyle Katarn from the Jedi Knight game.

  • Nothing beats Revan's story.

  • and dont give me the "SWTOR is Kotor 3-4-5-etc" bullshit, i would much rather buy every single Kotor game one at a time than that mess of a game...bah, no wonder EA/BioWare decided to go this way, throw a few quests that vaguely mention Revan and that's it you converted 90% of the kotor fanbase...sad

  • only thing i know for sure is FUCK The Old Republic MMORPG...i like my epic adventures solo thank you very much, not surrounded by snotty 12 year olds...i want to choose my own story not throw dices to see who gets to talk and have my jedi murder some innocent bloke just because the sith in my party had a higher number, that is just retarded and so i mourn Kotor 3 for how awesome it could have been...i hope SWTOR dies out in a few months so BioWare can wake the fuck up and do things properly

  • Both games are awesome and both game have awesome soundtrack, thanks to BioWare and Obsidian.

  • I like kotor 1 better than 2 becouse of revans story the war it all fits in to place it is great but number 2 was fantastic i cant count howmeny hours have played on it making armer blasters reading all of the chat making sure I tried my best on it THAY BETTE RHAVE SOME SORT OF QUESTS ON THE OLD REPUBLIC ABOUT THE EXALE AND REVEN OR I WILL E PISSED

  • gameplay:

    kotor 2 > kotor 1

    characters:

kotor 2 > kotor 1 (definitely) except canderous, that guy is awesome. in kotor 2, he may be the mandalore but not like the first game

    story:

    kotor 1> all

    items (looks):

    kotor 2 > kotor 1

    planet designs:

kotor 1 > kotor 2 except nar shaddaa cuz that place beats every planet in both games.

  • The atmosphear of this game was very.... very sad. It remembers me of some old days when I only played this game. I guess I played it over 2 years. The only problem was that I needed one and a half year to buy a PC that didnt crashed every 10 minutes. The Kotor series is my favorite.

  • Kotor 2 is better than kotor 1 but just if you download the restored version.

  • @DarkAntem mmm the restored Mod was okay... Sadly, I missed out on the HK quest... :(

  • so beautiful.. these kotor themes made me feel like i was IN the game.. amazing

  • Kotor 2 ending was a giant cock tease. Had to wait seven years to get some dumb MMO.

  • KOTOR; easily one of the greatest games ever made, such a great community with the people who play it. Soundtrack, Amazing especially this song. This game changed my life, for real! Haters gonna hate!

  • This could easily be Obi-Wan's theme song. Last of the Jedi, nothing left for company except memories.

  • They should make a KOTOR 3, where you play as another jedi or sith, in wich you will fight togethor with The Exile and Revan in the Unknown regions, where you fight the True Sith and the Sith Empire, that would be a much better game then the stupid online game....

  • Does 0:27 remind anyone else of The Lion King?

  • make an extended version

    that would be awesome

  • Anyone who hasn't heard, go to the page deadlystream . com

This is the home page of the mod TSLRCM. It improves the game soooo much. It restores lost content, completes the storyline etc.

You can read more on the page.

    Btw, trailer for the mod:

    watch?v=8rOBUChvxp8

    and another:

    watch?v=Nh3N1qXg9bU

  • Great game, to bad it was only on Xbox, at least as far as I know, besides pc, i heard it was on ps2 but i never found it.

  • @dreed292 it never came out on ps2 shame too

  • @Drawkiie i can find no contender worth of even scathing these games.

  • I hated the surviving jedi masters. I thought I'd like Kavar, but once you meet up with them at the enclave, you can't help but hate them.

  • @guilemaster147 hate is the path to the dark side of the force. be mindful of your thoughts young padawan

  • @trema006 No, fear is the path to the dark side. Hate leads to suffering, and in this case, Kavar and friends DID suffer.

  • @guilemaster147 but you could also say that anger leads to fear, fear to hatred, hatred to the dark side....

    they're interchangeable

  • 0:18 *,..,*

  • Whats the name, I mean the REAL name of this song? Because its in Jedi Knight 2 jedi outcast too.

  • @ExpetimentalHomeLab rebuilt jedi enclave

  • The slideshow fits perfectly. Great job!

  • ok anyone and i mean ANYONE agree with me and say kotor 2 is their favorite over kotor 1? anyone? i mean lets look at the facts:

    atton>carth

    exile redemption\retribution>revan's story

darker toned and stress filled story>light hearted adventure tail ending with a predictable end.

and yeah i know its all opinion but you cant totally hate this game i love it.

  • @beobrandt i kinda agree with that, except for the the atton>carth part. carth is easily the most likeable guy in the series.

  • @VOZZIFY I like Atton better because he's funny as hell. Carth is great, but he's also very whiny. Even HK-47 mocked his whining.

  • @Sceptorful i wouldnt call that whining. being betrayed by someone and saying you wont trust them aint really whining.

  • @VOZZIFY True.

  • @beobrandt many people didnt like it as much as the first one because they didnt played the game with the restauration mod. (Wich is essential)

  • @beobrandt quite frankley i love them both

  • totally agree, kotor 2 doesnt get enough attention, especially in the sw universe. the story was great, the characters are priceless and the influence system is the perfect addition to this great sequel.

people are still complaining about the ending i see, among other things which means those people probrably only own the xbox version. play it on pc, download the restored content and quit your bitching

  • @beobrandt

Atton and Carth are equally annoying.

    Revan's redemption/retribution > Exile's story

Solid adventure with a wide array of emotional tones and multiple themes > flat story about how utterly awesome and powerful your character is.

Satisfying cliche ending > completely broken ending.

You really don't need to take into account anything that is covered by personal preference in order to reliably declare the first KotOR as the higher quality game.

  • @beobrandt I disagree merely because it was unfinished and it felt unfinished. The locked content made the game seem like it would have been incredibly epic, but we never got to see it.

  • @beobrandt I was young(ish) but I cried at the end of KotOR 2, KotOR 1 I loved but 2 was just... eesh, such a dark tale. I'd love to replay it but my game broke :(

  • @beobrandt call me a philistine or unintelligent, but i found it harder to keep up with the story in this lol

and revan is the greatest darth to me, so i like kotor 1s story better for that

although i agree this had a better tone to it, but i dunno something about 1 just made it better :)

  • @beobrandt I completely agree, lets compare the two stories:

KotOR 1: I'm an ordinary person! I Learn the force and set off on a generic adventure! (twist) I'm not an ordinary person (GASP!) I then defeat the generic 2-dimensional bad guy!

KotOR 2: I see the universe and complex characters shifting around me as I fight a dark, external/internal battle of understanding how connection to the Force also ties me to it, as with all of the pain it feels when there is death.

  • @beobrandt Sequels usually turn out to be great fails. While I love Revan's tale more than Exile( one the reasons for me is that Carth falls in love with an ex-enemy) I can't deny that Kotor 2 was a great, great game and a worthy sequel to a great story. The only thing that pissed me off at the end of the story was Exile vanishing leaving Atton behind. Why does every character you play in these games have a tendency to just vanish?

  • @beobrandt Not to mention, KOTOR 2 actually had Jedi Robes!!!!!!!!

  • They should really put KOTOR and KOTOR II on xbl on games on demand.

  • @Hamptoncltn well isnt that just a fucking brilliant idea. i would certainly buy it. my old game disc has glitches throughout due to its age..

  • the best theme for me, but the main first kotor theme is exellent too

  • they should make a fucking kotor movie or at least a force unleashed movie

  • This song is allways like a slap in the face that shows me which side i have too choose.

  • best part of the game whether ure good or bad

  • i dont see ho this game doesnt receive an award

  • Makes me so sad when I hear it. I saved the Jedi Council, and they betray me. Such a touching moment.

  • @Siminko3 i love the easing in violin's toward the beginning, it makes me feel..happy.

  • @Siminko3 yep you got that right

  • best star wars game and maybe the best game ever made

  • since revan is male and the exile female i like to thin that there was something there between them..... that would have been so awesome

  • @michandre Sice when was the exile female and revan male? and plus revan and Carth had something going on stating that revan is female because the last words revan said to carth were "i cannot take the ones i love to the place i journey to" does that make sense? if you can remember the link or whatever stating your theory i would very much love to see it.

  • @Garthorium guys right, its not his theory. You are probably refering to kotor 2, but thats not canonical, because you could, through dialog, decide players choices in the kotor 1. Links? Well, wookieepedia is obvious one ; )

  • @DKzgd ok but can you really trust wookiepedia?, the website can be altered in the most simplest of ways, books give more info than the internet.

  • @Garthorium Well do you think website is run by idiots?! This is somewhat important information. If it wasnt true someone would already noticed it and reported it. Plus, this is relativly well known thing, its not some piece of information someone wrote on some site. I used wkpdia as an example.

You dont need a book about something to make it canon. If LA confirmed something to be canon, then its canon.

But if you dont belive me, do your own search, dont be lazy ; )

  • @DKzgd I dont mean to start a war, but using the internet is lazy. i just dont trust wookiepedia, i would much rather read a book then use the internet and wookiepedia has been known to bullshit a few times. but its your opinion, i'm not saying you cant use that website but i am saying do you really think the internet is 100% accurate?

  • @Garthorium Using internet is whaa... yes, just like using lighter instead of making fire with two sticks... efficiency =/= laziness...

And you do realize you are lazy by your own definition -_-'

Books and internet are just mediums, the accuracy depends on the source, ie the author. if you have problems with credibility of the website, go ahead and check their links or demand sources, or thats lazy in your book?

Anyway, you are acting like an asshole, I'm done talking to you...

  • @DKzgd Okay? i'm acting like an arsehole for telling you that i dont trust wookipedia shit, i used wookiepedia years ago and it told me shit, thats why i dont use it anymore. Yes the accuracy depends on the source yes i know that but at least a fucking book tells you whether its fictuous or not. Fuck the internets encyclopedias. Modern technology is shit, the only thing it does properly is let people have fights like this. Fucking read books like our ancestors, thats when the times were good.

  • @DKzgd oh and also using a lighter instead of two "Flint Stones" is efficiant yes but its lazy, its like getting robots to do your work instead of you, or using a dish washer instead of your hands. Lazy is it not? The modern age is getting lazier and weaker, the facts are there, Now do you want a fucking link for that? Sources? heres the link, its called life. now you start quitting being an arseholeand go and read a book about it, or the internet, which one? Now i'm done talking to you.

  • @Garthorium The mistakes of the past mirror the future. As happens to our civilization so will it happen to the future ones. But if mistakes are learned then we become better for it. - A trustworthy source. You should never complain about what happens now. We must make our mistakes so that we may move on or if we try to make it so that mistakes never occur we can never better ourselves.

  • @kaven860hotmail what are you saying?

  • @Garthorium If we let the modern age be lazy then we should. They will learn later on and we will be better for it.

  • @ DarthZillasaurus

That is not entirely correct, sire.

You see, Brianna and Mical, Mira and Hanharr, are canocially members of the party at the same time. And yes the Exile is female

  • Personally, If i were to create a movie I'd make them BOTH male, just because I believe the love between Exhile and Visas is not something you see in star wars... and its powerful, a blind girl thats be tortured all her life follows an exhile and she'd die for him any moment.

  • 1:04 it looks like luke's about to get a nasty burn.

  • What's the folder you extracted's name?

  • @ therascrivat could you please send me the link too for the restoration mod

    thxal

  • So a oaschloch google des amal

  • Somehow, this kind of reminds of parts of the score of Conan the Barbarian, as well as the classic Star Wars soundtracks.

  • The beginning of this sort of reminds me of the beginning of The Death Star/The Stormtroopers.

  • The music is wonderful.

  • And is there à possibilty to find à Patch that allows me to choose the disciple mical when i Play the male Jedi Exile because i hate the handmaiden, or à Patch were the male Exile has the face of mical i would be very happy about à a helpful answer

  • And where can i find this Mod?

  • @jackson0017 Google, dumbass.

  • you guys should really try the restoration mod, a lot of deleted scenes and dialogues and shitthat was cut out (due to the capitalist nature of lucas arts) has been restored. it makes this great game even better.

  • @alexanduhDanziggg and where can i find this mod?

  • @therascrivat I can't seem to be able to post the link in a youtube comment, I'll send you a private messg

  • @therascrivat

    google.

  • @therascrivat If you haven't found it yet, search "TSLRCM, Deadly Stream", it really is an awesome mod :D

  • @therascrivat TSLRCM, THe sith lords restored content mod, 1.7. Get it, the game turns 100% more awsome than it already was, and it was awsome already!

  • @BarlytheDwarf

    Totally!!!

  • @alexanduhDanziggg I downloaded the mod a week ago. While I loved KOTOR II before, the restored content makes it feel whole. The showdown between Kreia and the Jedi Masters is more than enough to warrant a download.

  • @alexanduhDanziggg Actually it wasn't Lucasarts but the company that adapted this after Bioware.

  • @alexanduhDanziggg i agree. could have been as good as the first if it was released with all of that content

  • @Contimammoth69 Every company is re-releasing old games to play in HD, if Lucas Arts want to make some serious money, re-released KOTOR 1&2 will deleted content restored and updated for HD and transferable saves (ie Mass effect or Dragon Age style). After that Finish KOTOR 3 and release that along with TOR MMO.

  • @Dinowarrior21 I try never to repost, but I missed yours and think it's the best post/ idea I've seen on youtube ever!

  • @Zanite Thanks but I doubt anyone at LucasArts or Bioware is paying any attention. The MMO is an ok idea if they had only finished the original story and only if the fans wanted it. I do not say no to making money but not at the expense of the fans that made Star Wars and Bioware household names. Heck even released the KOTOR games on PS3 to expand to a new fan base as they did with Mass Effect 2.

  • i enjoyed KotoR 2 much more because of the atmosphere it transports. As in KotoR 1 you saved or destroyed the republic the end was certain in KotoR 2 nothing is really certain, the lines between light and dark arent that clear. A decision u make maybe has a light impact but somehow its still tragic. Thats why i agree with the melanchony and intorspective mentioned above. The soundtrack perfectly fits in and underlines the atmosphere tremendously

  • @5uckRogers you said it in a perfect way :) rip kotor2 :(

  • This music helped the part when lay lay dying on the floor of the rebuilt academy and Kreia spoke of the end of all things become one of the most beautiful scenes in video game history.

  • i got chills when the music played while ur back at the old enclave of the jedi

  • @slipknot3597 yeah same here

  • lol godam this game was amazing

  • This is a wonderful piece of music. That conveys the hopeless and desolate theme of Kotor 2, perfectly. The game truly was great, and was so slighted unfortunately.

It gives such a strong emotion of what's going on, the struggle of the exile and kriea. Gah, superb storytelling. 10/10 game. One of the greats.

  • simply the best music in the game. it just plays to the whole theme of the near extinct jedi order and how they will eventually come back.

  • The end gives me chills :D

  • Wow... haven't heard this in a while... brings back a lot of memories ^ ^ Awesome. Hey, anybody know where I might be able to get hold of a full soundtrack?

  • ah yes, it has been awhile, got those two mixed up. darnit lol. It sucks to have to leave everyone behind though....

  • Ok i have to know where did you get this?!?!?

  • To everyone, the canon dictates that Revan was a lady. I don't know about the character you play as in kotor 2 though

  • You are WRONG my good fellow. LucasArts (which has the final say) confirmed long ago already that REVAN IS MALE and the EXILE IS FEMALE.

  • exile is female is still very contraversial. because it was never stated specifically - but in the game guide she was used twice thats how the notion that exile is female came about

  • @shriramvenu Forget notions - regardless of what people privately believed, the decision/confirmation that Revan is male and the Exile female was made by LucasArts. In the same way that LucasArts has the final say on what the canonical ending of the game is, so too do they have the final say in things like what the canonical genders of Revan and the Exile are.

  • @DarthZillasaurus Really doesn't matter. Has no bearing on actual game play.

  • @Phelan666 Uh... I'm not sure what I said that you're replying to. :P

  • @DarthZillasaurus The gender of the main character. You can choose either in the game so it doesn't matter.

  • @Phelan666 It does in terms of story. While the final outcome is much the same, the fact remains that the gender of the Exile DOES affect the story in terms of whether the Handmaiden/Brianna or Disciple/Mical joins your party. Certain characters behave in a certain way depending on the Exile's gender. And if one wishes to know what the TRUE version of events was, it matters. Personally, I also enjoy knowing what the canonical version of events is.

  • @DarthZillasaurus Well, yeah, I guess you're right.

  • @DarthZillasaurus The exile is a man, don't lie.

  • @Pro902 If you're just joking, then lol. If not and you're serious... LUCAS ARTS ITSELF confirmed that CANONICALLY Revan = MAN and the Exile = WOMAN. Denying it won't change anything people.

  • @DarthZillasaurus The harder you try, the faster your argument falls apart.

  • @Pro902 I can only assume you're joking for the sake of good-natured geek humour, in which case I'll laugh with you. I swear I'm not lying - just ask on the official site's forums or check any official source of SW canon. Write to the people who are in charge of keeping track of the SW universe's canon if you really want to.

  • @DarthZillasaurus

so if i play kotor 1 i can eventually do myself

  • @fluffyzhangfei "Do yourself"? :/

  • @DarthZillasaurus Oh, I never realized that they were "canonized". But it's fine because that's exactly how I usually play them. :) Revan male, Exile female.

  • @DarthZillasaurus Too bad Disciple is an uninspired tool compared to Handmaiden.

  • @Inerrant1 lol

  • O really? Revan was a guy; Jedi Exile was a lady.

  • @darthclide INCORRECT. LucasArts itself stated that Revan is a MAN and the Exile is a WOMAN. What LucasArts says IS LAW when it comes to these games.

  • does this song inspire perfect serenity or what?

  • when i listen to this music i can't help but relax

  • Oh maaaaan.the nostalgia of this song.....man i wish for simpler days, when i was just a kid playing KOTOR,going to movies w/ friends....bah,ignore my reminiscence, just brings back so many memories :)

  • I know, The nostalgia is overwhelming me as well. Things were as you say, so much simpler, with more time to enjoy the pleasant things in life. With only the relatively immedaite future to think about.

  • griskey's music is really depressing. it's good but at least soule's was a little more upbeat.

  • In cut content visas represents the dark side and handmaiden the light,

and on malachor one of them will kill the other.

  • cool, this should be in some future live action movie

  • I think that the picture at 0.28 is kinda stupid. If handmaiden represents the light side visas is representing the dark?

I remember when you are dark and you go to nar shadaa, and that guy pops up and says the ship is his, handmaiden says, CALM DOWN! dont attack him... i can just hit him with a stunner and noone will even notice that hes gone. On the other hand Visas never showed that she was on either light or dark side. When you kill someone shes on ure side and when u help someone the same.

  • i really wonder hw powerful was Revan compared to the "New" age of jedi, or what would hv made a difference if he actually returned

  • He was one of the most powerful jedi ever. Read the Darth Bane: PAth of Destruction, takes place 3,000 yrs later, and revan is still teaching(if u read u'll know what i mean :P)

  • I think Jeremy Soule's music is mor starwarsy than John William's scores for the prequels...

  • I only think that when I hear the epic music when revans talking, the sith type theme, feels much better then the imperial march.

  • this is the full length version. I extracted it from the kotor sound files and 1:13 was all there was

  • Anyone know where I can get this track in full length?? Thanks

  • In the game the track loops at certain transition points to make it seem longer

  • no i thought so to but they are two different people

  • I KNEW IT! Kreia has the same voice as theresa in fable 2..and they look exactly the same...Btw i been playing KOTOR for yeeeeeears. I just got fable a week ago,and its been bugging me how much they look/sound alike, but kreia is inf able 2!!

  • actully quite a sad story about a person/revan losing their identity...just to be repeated by the "exile"

  • i hear master vandar talking

  • And why they never made Kotor 3, besides the fact they are money hungry, bugs me. There is such a large fan base that a kotor 3 where you can play through as revan or the exile would be awesome. But i guess they lost their creativity.... OH wait never mind, its lucas arts, they never can seem to deliver completely.

  • Erm, hate to burst your bubble, but Bioware makes the games, or rather, Obsidian with Kotor 2 at least, LucasArts just publish it. That is to say, its theirs only in name

  • It's stupid that LucasArts has made the Light Side ending in most of its games the canonical ending, because in this game Kreia, before she goes all emo punktard on you, basically wants you to remain in the middle.

  • @trissmith91 No she doesn't. She wants you to get rid of the people who are to stuck in their ways Jedi or Sith.

  • In my opinion Revan was neither jedi nor sith, but something even more deeper. She stood for something and there was something out there that only revan could conquer. Her tale is a mysterious one and, "where revan lies now, i do not know."

  • Revan was canonically a male.

  • true and the exile was canonically female.

  • I think Kotor 2 has a better story though

  • Canonically, Revan is male and the Exile female. Regardless, what you say about the character is true.

  • I thought Revan was female?

They spoke of Revan as female in KOTOR 2...

  • They only do so if you choose certain dialogue options. For instance, when you first meet Atton on Peragus, he will refer to Revan as female. If you correct him and say Revan is male, he will be referred to as such and if you do not, the opposite is true. The option to refer to Revan as female in the game was merely to placate those who played as a female Revan on KOTOR1. But canonically, Revan was a light side male. The Exile is female.

  • you choose in Kotor 2 if Revan is male or female light or dark in the first conversation you have with Atton. Chronologically Revan was male and The Exile was female.

  • yes they did, i dont care what anyone says, revan was female. i mean cmon, when you fought her in the second one (if you went into sith cave) revan had boobs, se either revan is female or revan got some work done =P

  • The only certain thing is that Revan and the Exile are of different sex.

  • @Feaisian

    revan is male, exile female

  • Is it officially stated? If you play a male exile, Kreia indicate that Revan is a female.

  • that's not true, it depends on a conversation with Atton early in the game, same thing with whether revan saved the republic or reclaimed the title

  • Actually it doesnt matter what gender you play as in KOTOR 2, but Revans gender is decided from your conversation with Atton when you first meet him in Peragus.
