Fun Fact time: Actually, it's not illegal to own any animal as long as you have the right permits and licenses. After all, people own tigers, lions, bears, alligators, crocodiles, venomous snakes, chimpanzees, etc. Hell, some even go as far to own an elephant. So I don't see how an otter is any different in that regard considering all the animals I listed are far more dangerous than an otter.

Point is: If someone wanted to own an otter---they could. :)

actually you can own them in states that allow, BUT you have to have a permit and go through a two year handling and training seminar i believe...

i think its worth it. im gonna try to get one sometime. it can have its own little place outside with a big pool to swim in... i might need to get two though... :)
