I saw Gary live three times in the 80's. Tours following Victims of the Future, Run for Cover and Over the hills... As a Lizzy fan I really enjoyed the encore with Phil doing Out in the fields and Parisienne Walkways in 1985 at Manchester. I've nothing against blues and enjoy it in small doses, but for me Gary's music is defined by the heavy rock he did in the 80's. I'm sad to say my interest waned After the War.
Disappointed that it has a scratchplate though. Woulda been much better guitar if it had just single route for the humbucker. Too much wood taken away imo.
Not fond of the way he has his floyd setup either, Gary picks very hard and u can hear the bridge flutter when he picks, just a pet hate for me. Just the things you gotta put up with if you want a useable floyd.
Yeah, that is unusual about the pickguard. Perhaps the guitar was originally fitted w/ 3 single coils. Never been a fan of the floyd rose. Kahler is the only locking trem Ill ever use. Im guessing Gary likes the stiffer feel of the Floyd. As floating trems go, Kahlers way better IMO.
Glenn did'nt sing this track on the album(he did do the bass)....but he did sing
reach for the sky
out of my system
nothing to lose and
all messed up
Glenn was having some problems at the time and could'nt do the tour,the same happened with the following black sabbath "seventh star" album and tour......after a few dates he was replaced by the late Ray Gillen......luckily Glenn got better and got himself a pretty good solo career.
Wrong & Right Gary is a mick and Paul is a Jew No comparison. If anything Gary resembles Kiss`s former drummer Eric Carr. Yes Gary is an awesome guitarplayer :) I have been a fan since his Corridors of Power came out :)
RIP

What brand?

@mendrugo7
wow Your pretty clueless huh? lol
Marshall..duh!
There is definetly pedals in front though. Possible a tubescreamer or a guvnor.
Its a rather generic Marshall sound though to be honest. You should be able to coax it from any of them. Dont forget the modulation and delay effects
azazael07 2 years ago
I see the Marshall cabinets, but not the Marshall heads!! Because of this I ask you.
I was only asking about the heads, I know very well that he's using modulation and delay effects, and probably TS or Boss's DS-1.
But thank you dude!!

@mendrugo7
You can see the heads behind him.
Marshall plexi gold panel big box heads with the logos removed.

Oh! You're right man! Thank you!

he was using a Gallien Kreuger 250ML amp in these clips, through two Marshall 4x12;s in stereo.

Im sure Glenn Hughes played Bass on the studio version of this track. In fact he sang a few lead vox on the RFC album
