  • hey i love this piece! think you could get me the sheet music for it??

  • get a better sax, i got goosebumps just listening to this, i would suggest a cannanbal big bell stone seires, it sounds like a mark 6

  • take it easy on him. he said he played it by ear.

  • Uhm..that's not really good..you should play it faster and with more rythm..

  • You should post something new, so we can see how you've improved ;)

  • sorry but he has the tone of my schools begginer saxophones

  • that sucked i am playing it now and u where playing it to fast

  • You'll do better next time.

  • can i have notes

  • @jmoney4king me too? :)

  • you play don´t all notes of the original he is a pirate und you must play with more dynamic

  • what kind of reed are you playing on?try using a 3 if your on a 2 1/2. dont rush it.just go with the flow.when you play take a deep deep breath and if you can use cirulatory breathing it makes life easier.try and find a harder version of the song.try and tune before you play so the intonation is better

  • Do you really think at his skill level he could circulatory breathe??? nice try kid, but yes Practice makes perfect

  • GO PRACTICE, PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

  • ok ill go with every 1 else

  • It needs much much work. Attrocity.

  • try hit some correct notes please

  • im way better. no offense or anything. try not to take so many breaths. it will sound better tht way.

  • you should not breqth between every note, and don't pause between every note... but other then that, you're alright, how long have you been playing?

  • Keep working, you should most likely jump up a strength for reeds though, it sounds like there's no resistance, and so you're just blowing through, and running out of air way too fast.

  • try to play with feeling!!!

  • Hey I'm not trying to insult you canadainIdiot (was that supposed to be CanadianIdiot?) but I got goosebumps from listening to this.

  • u suck

  • u suck nuggets

  • wtf...sounds like hes playing twinkle twinkle little star lol just kiding good job.

  • really

    really

     good

  • wow ease up your tounging but your good for your age

  • that's a big shit!! It's nothing! :D:D:D:D

  • i want to see him try to play the 1812 Overture. lol

  • wow... first the notes arent right second ur tone is terrible. keep trying

  • Try to make it more STYLISTIC

  • tounging helps...but good...i guess...for a beginner

    ~alto sax player

  • Stop blasting that damn horn you nubtwit! That's horrible...

  • your saxophone isn't made right one of the keys are missing buy a new saxophone or you will be kicked out of the band and get close from other people that have swet

  • where do yu find the notes for that song?

  • stop over blowing.

  • dont blast air into your horn, it makes a honking noise

really work on that and youll be better

  • This is good advise

  • You need to bounce your tounge of your reed. It'll sound much better then it does right now.

  • wow why dont u try honkin some more

  • plz tongue

  • Ya, I agree.

  • TRY FREEKING TONGUING NEXT TIME. its all slured and sounds terrible

    ~tenor sax player

  • not to bad, id add a couple slides my self and some vibrato. just work on that and your tone and you'll do well.

  • Che schifo!!!!!!!!!!

  • yea If I had a video camera i would but my latest work up, i am sure I sound better after a year and a half

  • SEE wat did i tell you, he came a LONG way since his last vid, i will admit no offence it need alot of work but still, keep at it

  • to learn... to learn... BEFORE!!!

  • About 0:25 onwards (no offense bud) it sounded like a screwed up version of the family guy theme tune

  • yo u messed a couple notes there

  • u mite be able to play it but try useing tighter omiture so u can comtrol the notes and make it sound good.

  • Good song no offense but you kinda suck

  • how can he suck?

  • i agree. no offense or anything but i could sight read that and play better than that.

  • hey can you get me those notes?

  • Whats the notes for this? thanks .

  • if you look down like 2 comments he already answered that question

  • Oki thank Lol X

  • pretty good for by ear i can play check yes juliet for flute by ear

  • This is really good. Do you mind if you could send me the sheet music?

  • sorry but I did it by ear that is why is sounds so awful

  • no you just suck

  • and your a douche

  • Cause for all my recordings I was using a my cell phone, well it broke 3 months ago

  • If you sound much better today, why not remaking this video? :D

  • You do realize that is the harmony part right?

    It was good though.

  • hey keep working on it. you'll get better. it's good that you can figure songs out by ear. that skill will help you later. but i would work on the tounging and make it cleaner and crisper. but good job!

  • pretty bad.

I can tell you're just starting out.

you seriously need to work on your tone. since you probably aren't in the budget for a new horn, I recommend using better mouthpiece and reed. as far as mouthpiece, I recommed the selmer C or C*. As for reeds, VANDOREN!!!!!!! For jazz use the ZZ's and Javas. For classical/band, use the blue box (those are the ones that just say vandoren on them)

  • Thanks bud, in fact right now I have a new Yamaha YAS475S Alto, and a VAndoran mouthpiece, and Vandorean Reads.

But a year ago when this video was made all I had was a jupiter with a crappy mouthpiece and Rico reeds

Which is also why I sound much better today

  • Whoa. I am so sorry.

  • LMAO...

  • well if your going to say lamo atleast spell it right you uneducated monkey

  • what the fuck is lamo bitch???

  • I thought you were trying to spell lamo. but i guess not.......your not an uneducated monkey,,,,, your an uneducated jack ass.

  • you are calling me uneducated??/ your the one who "thought" i was trying to spell lamo... you were the on who was wrong first.... stop trying to make yourself look like a dickhead... again....

  • lmao means laughing my ass off, not the word lame with an "o" at the end lol

  • OOHHHH

Do they want some ice for that burn?!? lulzz

  • @CanadainIdiot Vandoren mouthpiece is probably one of the best out there, but Hemke reeds are much harder than VDs so for music like this use Hemkes but for the slower, more melodic pieces use VDs

  • amen brother

  • you can't tell somebody what type of reeds and mouthpieces to get, because everybody's different. for instance, i prefer a meyer. but for reeds, i've played 4 different vandoren reeds.

java, ZZ, V16, and blue box. i prefer the ZZ and V16's the most.

those are what i used to play. now, i play on Rico select jazz reeds, because BOY there is a difference. for me, with a rico, the sound is fuller and thicker rather than soft and whiny. i much prefer the Rico reeds for jazz

  • @Piechickenman VANDOREN REEDS ARE THE BEST!! They`re a bit pricey, but they`re worth it.

  • the smile indicates constructive criticism i hope you know . :D but yes . i suggest getting a private teacher and start doing jazz . it is very much helpful because most school teachers do nothig but shit with their students . D:

  • ehh . that's pretty good . your tone lacks some zing and your tonguing is very sloppy . PLEASE WORK ON THAT . :D

  • i played that in 8th grade u aint bad, but the song is a lot more technical than that, where is my camera

  • Wow fuck you guys.

good job man, keep playin. :)

  • This is strictly constructive critisism:

Try not to pinch so much with your lips, expecially on the high notes.

Go a little lighter with you tongue, it will sound more natural.

I think its great that you were brave and confident enough to put this up here, keep playing sax! (just make sure to tune one last time before you record;)and pay attention to the temperature!)

  • Not so choppy. Relax and fringer though it a few times. Thsi song is easy once you get the hang of it. oh and use less tounge

  • i know! im ageeing 100% at least he had the courage to even post this video! keep practicing kid! great job!

  • i agree with rage u guys need to get a life hes no older then 13 probly and here u asses are pickin on him what the fuck is the matter with u ppl? the point is hes playin the sax which is what he wants to do and he'll eventually get better. and antoyanis what the fuck do u have against greeks if i ever c u on the road im gonna run ur dumbass right over then back up over u. ur probly some fuckin beaner here mowing ppls lawns who isnt even suppose to b here in the first place

  • man whats wrong with you ppl what age are you guys 34 and whats he...12.why dont u pick on smone ur own size and i dont mean online either u cowards. Man i bet this kid could kick ur asses u jerks.

  • Give the damn kid a chance people....he`ll obviously get better....eventually

  • wow you had to post that twice i think he got it the first time

  • thats ok i guess .

  • not u again plz practice before u put ur stuff on youtube

  • dude you suck. you need to learn how to fucking play that sax first.

    its really flat

  • wacked to the point of crap

  • we're playing that song for school band

  • ehh... i could probably do better, but not by much. i'll give you 38 :/

  • wow...u need work kiddo

  • eeek.

  • waaaaaaaaaaa the notes aren't right man your false!

  • YOU SUCK BIG TIME -5/5

  • ...-_-

  • lol @ everyone on youtube trying to teach you :D YEAH MAN GO FOR IT YEAH!!! :D

  • u need to practice more!!!

  • Nice job =]

  • could be better^^

but i think no one starts as a champ^^

  • Look, we all have to start somewhere. Don't get discouraged. Play long tones. Hold each note for 8 to 12 counts, and then try to fade it out (rather than ending abruptly). Concentrate on your tone the entire time. The horn will become a part of you. But I have to ask why you thought you were ready to share your sound with the world on YouTube. I'm not trying to be mean, I just don't get a lot of these posts.

  • because

  • Just practice. Not gonna say it was good, but with practice...maybe.

  • nice i play sax myself and i just gotta say

that all i think u need is a little practice on breath timing

    also, tone

  • thans

  • mate good on you if your practising like you said below. work out solos, imitate tone and listen to the right players (jazz players) ALOT.

  • heres what 2 do...sounds overly simple and boring but...take each note, maybe several a day, individually, and play the note at medium volume at first(loud to soft &visa versa alittle later)and play that note as longggg as u can...and lock-in to the pitch and keep it steady.we call this LONG TONE WORK and every player worth his salt knows this.you'll start to improve and you'll enjoy it more. strive to develope a "songlike" quality in your sound son...and remember...it don't come easy.

  • finally someone who actually is here to help, thank you very much I will try that excercise.

  • That's actually not that bad. Learning that song from ear isn't that easy. Good job, for the time being...

  • i like it i mean better then me and i get lessons (at school if you call that a lesson)

im onkly 10 this is my first year my sax has bbeen through alot its gotten bent all that stuff but yer pretty good

  • The worst part is at 00:22

  • Dude, i could do that better when i had played for 2-3 weeks ! .. But i have to realize not all has talent like me. I thought i sucked when i only could play that much better after 2-3 weeks without lessons.. anyways.. have fun being better.

  • Ever heard of lessons?

  • Ya I know it was pretty bad but I don't have time for lessons. Besides this was months ago, at the time I seldomly played maybe once a week. But now I practice usualy once a day for at least 1 hour.

  • you should really get lessons or something

  • well at the time the video was made, had only played 5 months.

  • How long have you bin playin

  • Like a year, but at the time this vid was shot I sucked because I was just messing around on my own, but now I am in a Consert band and I got much better.

  • oh lol well you'll get better and sorry did'nt want to be offensive

  • IT is okay I hear that I suck alot, which is true.

  • umm r u still tryin to sound bad...yea?

  • I wish, but this time I actually tryed. Yea I know I suck.

  • you dont suck your just a newby
