  • she has no eyebrows

  • haha~~ i tho her eyes looks like a zombie as well

  • Just make it obvious that it's not Japanese version

  • You should take notice of how Japan is before you say these things...

Japan, the land of taking western ideas and making it their own. Each day more and more of Japan are becoming modernized with western ideas, no wonder Prime Minister Abe wants to purify Japan to what it once was because it's a mini United States now. An Italian restaurant in the middle on Tokyo? But wait, it's owned by Japanese people, how can that be? It's suppose to be Italian.

  • So...Is it wrong to have introduced other types of foods to other countries, sharing each other's culture..? I guess the result of whats happening around the world gives me the answer..

  • What's the point of naming it a Chinese places that sells sushi? It won't get people to come in, people want a Japanese restaurant. It all comes down to business, how to profit. If something can sell, then do it. Sure, be respectful of the culture, but come on, it's money, people want it, especially in San Francisco. No point of opening a restaurant and not having customers. And it's not like many people really notice any difference.

  • It's a pattern that I have noticed that depresses me constantly. Have pride in your own culture people! Sushi exists in China and Korea since it was introduced when Japan colonized thier country. Just name the restaurant a Korean or Chinese name so that people can understand that that is their version of sushi. Wouldn't people wanna try Chinese sushi? Korean sushi? Each made with delicacy from their country!!!!!

  • If people done that...Wouldn't it be upsetting if a Japanese person went into a restaurant that called itself "Korean Sushi" selling sushi, claiming it as their own original style...when originally, the idea came from Japan?

  • a restaurant I went to poured tonkatsu sauce on fried pork over rice and called it katsu don and the waitress goes and tells a white customer the right way to greet in Japanese. The rice smelt like vinegar and I told the waitress and the cook came out upset and said "this is how Japanese people eat".

  • Chinese do pretend to or give an impression that they are Japanese. I have seen this with my own two eyes-!! I don't care what race or ethnic background owners come from. That's not my problem. It's how they do business that's my problem. Very very offensive! I would tell you about my dining experiences but that's only for people who understand where I am coming from. I will tell you one (just one) experience:

  • If someone (who understands Japanese culture) knows a descent Chinese operated Japanese restaurant in or near San Francisco, please let me know! Korean operated joints are ok compared to Chinese owners. They can be rude sometimes with service but they have high pride in their own culture so they wont every pretend to be Japanese.

  • But what I noticed though, the worse ones are the Chinese owners! Their prioritize money and it shows! No respect for Japanese culture at all. I have never walked into Chinese owned Japanese restaurant that is the least bit acceptable.

  • Japanese people do anything with pride and respect, and it shows. Since the owners aren't Japanese, it's hard to have pride in something that's not your own. People who go into those stores mistake that as "the Japanese way" and walk out of those stores misunderstood.

  • Many shopowners are Korean. Not Japanese. It should be KoreaTown in Little Tokyo. It would be more practical.

  • YES!!
