back in the 80's All the 3 classic. Journey to the West, Romance of three kingdoms and Water Margin were excellently filmed. All the new versions sucks badly. Its either cut scenes, too cumputerised, use weak cast, too modernized themesongs, use pop idols as leads. Terrible.. spoilts the drama totally.
One of the greatest epics of all time. I must get an english translation of this someday and read it along with Shui Hu Zang. Grew up watching this masterpiece, definitely a highlight of traditional Chinese dramas.

Back when i was a kid in Ghana they used to show this on Sundays. The statiion had to change that cuz ppl would skip church jus to watch this....
