  • i love Blondie but Mick sings this song the best of all !!! <3

  • Cool!

  • Just Fantastic!!

  • happy birthday debbie!!

  • Aw I wish they'd release a studio version of this cover. It's awesome.

  • I'm surprised; this is actually a very good version, even though it's incomplete. A lot better than U2's.

  • I love how Debra Harry dances all over the stage during this song. That woman can really move!!!

  • Cool. Chris actually showed my former band how to play this tune when we were rehearsing in his basement and had the chord progression wrong. Maybe that's when he got the idea to cover it.

  • Debbie is a rocker!!!! Queen of rock, for sure

  • still have bad sound but is better better than the version of u2

  • Hard to tell, the sound is shaky, but it sounds pretty good to me. Certainly better then the U2 dreck.

  • a great cover by Blondie there, Debbie is my Heart throb

  • Fantastic cover...Debbie rocks!

  • que bien muy bien te lo agradezco

  • I love her voice.

  • Love it, bit short, maybe?

  • Great one of my favourite bands covering another great bands song. Viva Blondie! Viva the Rolling Stones! And anyone in between in between who is trying to make it including me. OR AM I TOO OLD!

  • -sigh- I want this in studio quality darn it. I don't care what people say. They should so do a cover album of the best songs just indulge my addiction to their sound.

  • debbie, mi amor

  • This would sound better is her voice was a bit deeper...whiskey voice :))

  • @transfoby I have every blonde album. Got'em for 2 bucks a piece. Yummy

  • BRILLIANT COVER!

  • hmm to be honest at times the pitching was really badly off there...

  • the magic of harry's vocals....... black and white with blondie - there is NO grey...... like it - or ya don't - live or not.

'pitching' (on or off key) has been the issue of critics since harry/blondie stated recording!!!!!!!!!!!!!

....... don't forget cbgb's ....... the ramones, talking heads, ........ all 'pitch' concerns.........

the honesty is in the fact they don't bend and twist the vocals as they do today when recording, using digital technology. hmmmmmmmmm.

  • Too cool :) I love Blondie and Debbieeeee

  • the best song of the Stones, I love Blondie, though I prefer the Echo and the bunnymen cover.

  • Better than U2, better than R.E.M.

Viva Debbie, viva Blondie, XD, YEAH

  • @LON009 Nooooo!!!!

  • WASP DOES A GOOD VERSION

  • This is my favourite Rolling Stones song. Debbie's vocals are excellent on this! x

  • I love Blondie, I love The Rolling Stones..

...But i think Echo And The Bunnymen do the best cover of Paint It Black, but thats only my opinion.

  • muy buena viva debora harry es una diosa...............

  • this is hard to sing; she does it well. 5 *

  • I love Debbie in general - but also love her for her daring - to just to what the F*ck she feels like doing or singing; I've never heard her do a cover version of the Stones - and this song is one of the BEST songs of the Stones she could ever pick. Don't you agree? What year was this video shot?

  • Besides, it sounds damn good, one of the best covers of the song indeed

  • Debbie has done tons of Stones covers. I have been at gigs when she did WILD HORSES (1997) and GOT OFF OF MY CLOUD (2008). I think her best Stones cover is START ME UP (1982). I think this video was about 2006 or 2007.

  • YAY Go Debbie, she did not sing this song the best but she still sung it good i think :D

  • if you want a paint it black cover listen to hayseed dixies version. beats everythin hands down

  • Sorry Face to Face version is the best.

  • Debbie Harry kicks ass!

  • =( booo

  • The Rogue Frequency cover of 'Paint It Black'

is by far the best cover version of this song.

If you like good music/ classic rock/ etc.

Also, check out their other videos are great too! Rogue Frequency!!!

  • nah, i wont say this version is better than the Rolling Stone's version, but Rogue Frequency's version sounds pretty bad, it sounds far too heavy for the song, it sounds better odviously by the Stones but i dont think Rogue Frequency understand the song's underlying messages that The Rolling Stones had. (interestingly the song is not about the Vietnam war, it was about one of the band members splitting up with a long term lover, though Kubrick uses it in 'Full Metal Jacket')

  • Isn't "Call Me" suppose to be another version of

this? Sorry for the stupid question.

Anyways I think both Rolling Stones and Blondie

    sing good.

  • your gay

  • Changing the octave has implications which I hear and dont like. It all feels rhythmically and harmonically distorted. Awesome song though.

  • Their version's okay, but I don't like the way Debbie switches octaves between the chorus and the verses. I heard a bootleg of the Stones doing a very demonic and freaky live version of this in 1966 or 1967 ... it was pretty amazing. But if you had to choose between the modern versions of these bands doing this song, you'd probably do just as well with the Blondie version. My name's daveB and these are my opinions.

  • she's a woman! she HAS to change octaves, she couldn't sing the chorus if she sang it in the same pitch as the verses, it would be too low for her, and vice versa if she sang the verses in the same pitch as the chorus she couldnt sing that either as it would be too high lol

  • mattjasy

    are you high?!

she can not do it better than the stones!!!

  • No darling we are not high! We have seen the Stones live and prefer Blondies version get over it!

  • Blondie does it better than the original as we have heard the rolling stones do it too!

  • was für ein trauriger versuch...das können die flippers besser...

  • Even Blondie can't beat the original version. Brian Jones' sitar is the best part in the song.

  • Eric Burdon and New Animals didi it

  • Did what? Paint it Black? Hell no, it was The Rolling Stones. Maybe Eric and friends made a cover song, but the original is by The Rolling Stones. Or what did you mean?

  • i know is RS song . Stetoskooppi said that "even

Blondie cant't beat the original version (RS) and I said that EB and NA did it. Weider's violin intro is just amazing and Burdon's vocal...no comment.

  • Wowee! This is awesome! I wish I had seen Blondie this year before the tour got cancelled :( >sniff<

  • i seen blondie this summer and my fag brother made me leave before the oncore and i heard them do paint it black at the car and i wont see debbie that close again if i am even lucky to see her again.i never thought that time would ever come and toronto was fucked after that and i cant pay to see them in the uk.

  • I hate when people do that! They want to leave early just to escape the crowd. You see people do this all the time at the movies. It's amazing, I guess they don't care about what they'll miss.

  • Shit I arrived late at a Blondie gig in 2004 in Portland Oregon, showing up drunk around 10.30, (normal headline time)thinking there was no opening acts, only to find they went on at 9.00.

    I caught only two songs!!

Lucky I caught them later at the Addison food festival in Dallas for $5 bucks, but they were twenty times better in Portland, even though I only saw them for 10 min.

  • so, did you kill your brother, or at least severely damaged his health in any way after that?

  • wow this sounds pretty good live!

  • Thank you, great to see this!
