But for what it's worth, I lived there for 18 years and my postcode was Liverpool, yet my friend who lived on the other side of Huyton was Knowsley. It's on the border, and as such, some parts are Liverpool and some are not - it's a huge area. But like I say, I'm not personally bothered if I'm scouse or wooliback!

to have a strong sense of humour to be passionate in things they do but just saying i've always found people from huyton behave differently. What im saying is Huytons a town with its own sense of identity different from Liverpools same with Bootle. I just think Huytons totally different from liverpool.

@standupEFC: Bollox. Only Bootle was a town. it was granted county borough status. which guaranteed it's independence. But Huyton, Kirkby, Cantril Farm, Halewood, Maghull, Melling, Lydiate, Formby, Crosby, Waterloo, Seaforth, Litherland, Netherton, Aintree (and Bootle itself), were all settled by overspill scousers from the City. And looking further afield, so were the newtowns of Winsford, Runcorn and Skem. face it modern day Liverpool is a series of boroughs way beyond the city boundary.

scouse is a race i've always found people from huyton behave in a different manner from scousers you can alway stell when someones from huyton they act different from scousers. You always say your from huyton then when you go elsewhere you say your from Liverpool. Gerrard has a similar accent doesn't mean hes scouse does it like saying som1 from bolton is a manc.

@standupEFC: what a load of bollox. Bolton are not even remotely related to mancs. they are proud Lancastrians. Just like people from Wigan, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, St Helens and Southport. But Huyton, Halewood, Cantril Farm, Kirkby, Whiston, Maghull, Lydiate, Formby, Melling, Litherland, Seaforth, Waterloo, Crosby, Bootle, Netherton, to name but a few, are all scouse overspill areas and should be incorporated into the city proper. Just like what happened in Leeds, Sheffield and Birmingham.

Listen mate people from huyton have scouse accents but the way they behave is different. Huyton is in my opinion a town thats self sufficient hence having a town centre. It is not an area like for example Walton. It has about 12 different large estate sthat are similar to suburbs.

Ya know its really ironic, i can see it now...am lookin in the echo at a efc and lfc player (both huyton) and it occurred to me that huyton is more famous as a liverpool area than these inner city areas who have nobody of note, so it must be quite galling to some of them, almost a raging jealousy even. Also in the echo was pictures of lots of scousers...but they all looked african to me.... seems that the only true scousers are the ones that left, how ironic! smirk

Iam Huyton born and bred, take no notice about these local divvys who say Huyton is not a Liverpool suburb they are as plastic as they come where ever theyre from in the city. Huyton people are all from inner city areas , most of huyton was built by Liverpool city Council....Nearly all modern day footbal players, actors, play writes and comedians are from Huyton and keep Liverpool firmly on the map...read Steven Gerrard, Tony Hibbert, Peter reid, Freddie Starr, Stan Boardman, Alan Bleasdale..!!

I'm from huyton, and I'm not really bothered if it's classed as Liverpool or not, I don't live actually there anymore. But for what it's worth, I lived there for 18 years and my postcode was Liverpool, yet my friend who lived on the other side of Huyton was Knowsley. It's on the border, and as such, some parts are Liverpool and some are not - it's a huge area. But like I say, I'm not personally bothered if I'm scouse or wooliback!

Huyton is part of Knowsley, not Liverpool. We pay our taxes to Knowsley Council, not Liverpool city council. Post code doesn't mean jack, just like Prescot is Prescot, Huyton is Knowsley.
I agree with the other post; who in the right mind would want to advertise that they come from Liverpool? The accent sounds so rough when you mix with people outside of the north.

but now there knocking down fincham estate where i grew up on southdean it was a good place in the 90's it was when the coucil moved druggies and nobeds in it went downhill

Huyton is a fucking shithole,I've had my house robbed,I found a dead man in the street at rush hour with people walking past him,people have been stabbed in my street,the local pub is closed because someone was murdered in it,the local shops are closed because they were robbed so many times,I just had my car broken into,the list goes on and on.I grew up here and I can't wait to move the fuck back out,it's a festering cess pit of crime and I'm not proud to come from here.

Yeah prescot is L34/L35 and rainhill and whiston are included. These places all look to being in liverpool especially the younger generation and the fact people from inner city liverpool are moving to places like prescot and rainhill.
