Custom Valentine one radar in rearview mirror

Remove the silver coating on the mirror at any laser engraving shop. Remove the LCD from the radar display, and put it behind the glass inside of the mirror where the engraving is. The tricky part is to connect the display to the actual unit. I would do it this way.

@tiwer1 My preference is to mount it in the rear, far less obvious (it runs dark when the mirror is connected) and good sensitivity front and rear. I ran a rear mounted V1 in a Porsche for three years and have excellent sensitivity. If you think about it the V1 has front and rear sensors, putting it in the rear just moves it about six feet and you'll have the same sensitivity facing forward as you have facing backwards when it is in the front.

Only thing is the Valentine displays are all visible in the glass. I've seen versions that are fully hidden when off.

There used to be a lot of places to get it done but, it appears there wasn't a huge market for it. I can only gather it was the outrageous price tag that terminated it.

@ysrelement the issue is its not integrated with the v1 in it from what i gather, it is just a external display and maybe beeps. you still have to have the v1 installed in a dash or somewhere i beleive.

That isn't a radar detector in the mirror, it's an optional conceal display from V1. You still have to mount the radar detector on the windshield although it won't be lit up, only the conceal display will be lit up. It's been my experience that it's best to have someone who knows what they're doing perform this mod. It can cost anywhere between $250-600. The casing from the conceal display is discarded and just the important parts are used in the mirror.

Another good way to hide a detector is to hollow out a pop can and fit it as a sleave over the device and run the power cord up the deftoster vent. Cop can't see it, Ta-dah! No ticket! Of course if he's still pulling you over your unit must be a peice of crap or your reflexes are snail slow.

not true at all - Valentine 1 - gets detected by the new R.D.D so that does not mean its bad - just leaking - every detector is like that so far from what I've been told from some experts... accept a couple like Bel STI-R and 9500ci

R.D.D is just short for

Radar - Detector - Detector

It is what Officers use to see if you are using a Radar dectector.

it can still be Vg2 protected - but the New R.d.d that they use is on a different frequencie - so your radar detectors are all bad off - untill that companie supplys new detectors antenna's to stop leaking or putting them on another frequencies to leak..

should work in any mirror that has the homelink option or whatever option the company calls it.. to open an close the gerarge doors at your own home.

It does not look out for cops, It looks out for Radar/laser micro waves, when and officer is radaring/lasering cars on the road to messure there rate of speed. to be any good radar to give the owner some time to come down to the correct ammounts of speed it has to pick them up atleast 7times the length of there guns to get the warning time and for the driver to react in time. which this V-1 does as well as k40-2000 those are the best choices on the market and dont forget the SR7 as well.

but Finally A velentine one hidden, though an officer can still see those symbols in the mirror. but its alot more likely he wont compared tot he old versions with the big blocks in the windshield.. so where are the sensors for this system located??
