  • Great Video Gretchen! This was really a useful video for me. I will be going out to get this book, when it is time for me to edit and revise my story. I'm hoping that time will be in April. I have been working on my story diligently every day. Thanks for making this video.

  • @TheAMWriter That book SERIOUSLY saved my life. ;)

  • @kurtmcfried Au contraire, mon frere. Over the last year and a half we've done plenty of videos about sex. But yes, not recently. It's coming. No pun. BWAHAHAHAHHAA.

  • @BroadwayBabe3 Theme isn't necessarily a word or a phrase. And it can be transmitted in a variety of ways. Remember that!

  • Thanks for the tips, and for the book rec! I'm always looking for good books on writing.

  • Yes! I hate it when people use very specific adjectives more than once on a page. For example, brindle. Use it ti desrcibe one wolf one time, not every wolf every time.

  • These are great! *writes down for later* And I think I secretly knew them but I didn't want to admit it was a writing flaw ;)

Also, I've decided to pick this video to point out that you always put "Sex" in the opening title sequence, and no-one to date has done a video about it. (DO NOT TAKE THIS AS A HINT TO MAKE A SEX VIDEO.) But it is kind of false advertising :P

  • I'm definitely guilty of over-using words. Great tips!

  • I've got a question: In what ways can a writer slip up with repeating theme? Theme is so vital, but, of course, too much and the reader is saying, "Alright, already, I got it, shut up!" How do you find a balance? What does that balance look like? Thank you, Gretchen!
