  • Sick swap & truck. Im thinking of doing the lq9 swap or 5.3l into my k5

  • NICE TRUCK :)

  • very nice truck it looks like if it was all stock

  • my dream truck!!!

  • U Fuck it ant worth shit now

  • @gypsysmurf510 It's worth more now than it would've been, that wasn't 454SS just a Sport.

  • Nicely done man. Looks awsome and is probably the slickest sleeper ever! When i buy another C/K chevy in the future this is what im going to do to it!

  • Beautifully done. Looks like it came that way.

  • please respond back....i have a '97 silverado...the 5.7 is gas sounds like a diesel...could easily replace it...but very seriously thinking about exactly what you've done here puttin in the 6.0 newer vortec...what if any complications did you run into...is there alot of wire splicing to get all the in dash gauges to work..? realigning motor mounts? please message me back very curious

  • @S1D75 Theres nothing to them, i did the same 6.0 swap into my el camino and i got my wiring harness from current performance, theres 4 wires to hook up and it running, Check engine light, Tach, 12v source and a switch 12v i believe, and the motor mounts you can go with Trans dept motor mounts, super easy, then just get after mark. senders for water and oil pressure and your set

  • @S1D75: If it's not to late you need to look into 67-72chevytrucks dotcom and LS1techdotcom

plenty of guy's doin this swap it's the smart thing, the new gen. chevy engines put out way more horse power and tourqe than the engines of old W/ better fuel economy. Google is your best friend ask it any thing and I mean anything. V Obsession

  • * vs. Tbi v8's.. damn phone, always suggesting words

  • To the owner- only question I have is about your gains in performance. How significant of a difference did you notice with this swap on power? And was there a good gain in mpg's? I would love to gain better mileage and I have only read articles about these engines being more fuel efficient (vs Tbilisi v8's) thanks for any info!

  • In regards to the 700r4, I forget the brand but search for the ls to 700 adapter. There is a flex plate converter that allow the trans to work with these engines, it is around $250.00 I will be swapping an lq4/9 and using my 700r4

  • @HAMMERxHCA all you need is the late model 6.0l flexplate flange spacer and all old and new style converters will work, just have to dremel the holes in a little bit for the three tc bolts

  • to everyone who has a ? about doing this swap,,GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND . look it up its not hard , youtube is not a faq forum

  • What all do you need to do a swap like this

  • Did you have to get a flexplate adapter to bolt the motor to the 700r4

  • @TREYBILLIOT123 yes

  • Did you have any clearance issues. I want to do this exact same conversion in my 94 tahoe and 91 short bed. Any tips or advice when doing it? If you don't mind could I email you or call and ask questions?.

  • @tumtum08 fit like a glove . i really dont want to think about all the sh~it I've been threw with this truck...lol

  • RoadKing Street: I have a 93 silverado my question is are there any changes to the motor mounts when doing this swap?

  • RoadKing Street: I have a 93 silverado my question is are there any changes to the motor mounts when doing this swap? And I have rebuilt my 700R4 and would hate to loose the money ive put into it and not use it with the 6.0. My question is what do i have to change on the tranny to make it work and shift just fine.

  • @mjohn201 yes there's a adapter plate that bolts on the block then the mount.

im sure that theres some way to do it but i didt not have the time or did't no any one to ask about it. i had the th350 in my shop and didt want to deal with the 700r4 any more . you should stay with the 700r4 its great for every day driveing

  • Gorgeous truck dude...Had plans on doing an LS swap (5.3) in my 96 but the economy is killing my dream man...lol....KILLIN MY DREAMMMM!!!!!!

  • @rpahjr that sucks man, i want to do the same swap for my 90 shortbed reg cab K1500. But aint got the cash either.

  • your going to need a complete 6.0 lq9 or lq4 with a harness and someone who knows how to do the swap its not all that hard you just need to know what your doing

  • I GOT A 93 SILVERADO, IF I SWAP THE 5.7 FOR A 6.0 WOULD I HAVE TO CHANGE THE ECU OR WILL IT WORK WITH THE ORIGINAL

  • wat stand alone did you use?

  • hey man i got a question what all did you have to do to swap it im trying to do that same swap in my truck can i reuse the 700r4 or would it be easier to go with a 4l60e and how hard was the wiring

  • @brycehaas when i first did the swap i had a 700r4 but i didn't no what to do with the (tv cable) or (kick down cable) so i drove it with out ajusting it . then after a short time it would not shift in 3rd.so i replaced it with a th350 with a manul valve body. the harness was costom stand alone very eazy.

  • hey dude how was the swap
