he travelled in segment 2 and 3. in the last segment, people call it a "step-through move". another way of calling it a travel. stopped (left then right foot), fake (finta), spin (rolling) of his pivot foot and then lifts that same foot to gain ground. not legal by FIBA but in NBA, I guess it is.

When he makes the jab step, he's using the left foot as pivot foot, but when he starts dribbling he raises the left foot first....so it's travelling, at least according to FIBA rules. Correct me if I'm wrong....nice video though, and Kobe's the best ;-)

P. S. Even if it's a travel, because I admit you can always argue on that move, it leaves some room for debate let's say, then half of plays made by modern superstars, Rondo, CP3, D. Rose, D. Wade and of course the master of all travel, the LeBron James - are travels. Even the most famous MJ's style is a travel style then.

Note that the video is in slow motion so it doesn't seem that way, but in real-time it is so insignificant that any ref wouldn't call it. I can agree with you on that, but this was not a travel right here. Kobe definitely moved his pivot feet BEFORE he dribbled, but it hit the dribble at least a .1 second because watch 1:28-1:30. It was not a travel my man, rewatched it 3x only and it was definitely not a travel in KOBE'S case.
