TBH this comparsion thing with james and adam was media pr at his best from the get go. James diddnt make 1 percent of the impact adam made on idol and the world of music. Range, Showmanship, Personality, Charisma, Vocal Control, Breathe Control. Diversity. Yeah sure james can have training and get their, but once in a generation talent? Adam Lambert IS great talent! I feel he is a great performer. He performs all genre's consistently GREAT! My criticism is that he's not authentistically (yeah, a new word) a rock star in the sense I've come to know rockers and their lifestyles...he's a great THEATRICAL performer and can THEATRICALLY act the role of a rocker...sing as a rocker with the best of them...but I can't give him the praise of genuinely being a rocker. I remember a whole bunch of people being pissed that Adam got all of the special lighting, smoke, costumes, staircase etc during his season. but thats because he asked for all of the stuff. Now everyone this season pretty much abused the staircase and smoke. if it werent for adam these contestants wouldnt have had any of this stuff. adam broke down a door in this show in terms of performance style.
