someone needs to cut off this slim balls pony tail and tuck tape his greasy mouth shut.. he does not speak for me... stupid french man tryin to be an Indian.. hes just a puppet for Harper.
i agree with some things that the senator has said about our 600 +chiefs
we are being robbed by our native leaders
i disagree with the senator on a few issues also
we need automatic seats in the senate as a native party giving the fact we are the aboriginals here in Canada. No NON NATIVE WILL EVER VOTE A NATIVE INDIAN TO OFFICE ON OUR OWN NATIVE PARTY'S
we need to educate our people and if we have to frag some of our native leaders that are ripping us off then so be it we need a new voice
the guy can't even say the word "indian" without sounding ashamed! :O and whats up wth those freakin chemical zits?? does the senator hit the pipe? Cause it looks like that might be so. it also sounds as though he did not read this speech before standing in front of the camera and reading it off a prompt reel. Sorry but that sounds like a "phoney" to me.

If you talked about accoutability... why did you (Mr. Brazeau) previously choose to collect both salaries as a Senator and President of the urban Aborignal Association?
I recommend you join my Facebook page 'First Nation and Aborignal Blog for National Issues'.
I have always stated that Prime Minister Stephen Harper would scrap the Indian Act if re-elected to a majority government, and hold a First Minister's Conference to discuss self-government. First Nations do not realize there is secret blueprint to what Stephen Harper has wanted for First Nations since the 1990s. A municipal-style self-governance subjected to provincial and federal authority.
Corpate interest would be allowed in to use First Nations land for their use of natural resources.
Further to that, who wrote your speech? We've all seen you speak, if it had been your own words you might have delivered it with a little bit of gumption.
"Let's put people ahead of power and privelege for a change..." Wow thank goodness you're a Senator! Who better to push for putting people ahead of power and privalege than an unelected politician for life?!?! What a joke. We get it, you're a Conservative appointee, you're still out of touch with First Nations right from the grassroots to the thatch roofs buddy.

Patrick Brazeau committed the gravest act against the First Nations people and that is TREASON....He is committing an atrocity with more serious punishments than for child molestations and rapes.... He served his white masters well and he was greatly rewarded for his treason....The classic apple...red on the outside...white on the inside.....
This guy is nothing but an agent provocateur for the Conservative Party. In fact he's a lap dog for Steven Harper. Cut his pony tail and he's just a charlatan white boy. Kitigan First Nation should really consider banning this montebank from it's lands or even better yet disenroll his status.
As I recall, aborignal people have been able to vote for almost 40 years. Statistics prove they almost always vote liberal (or simply lean towards thd left-wing) just as most of the country did. Now prove 30 million Canadians wrong..
If your party thinks they know what's good for first nations and the rest of Canada, why haven't they been in power more often?
Saying the T+R commission was a Conservative idea is a simplistic overview; all policy is gradually made over years of deliberation long before any Conservative brought it forward, they just happened to be in power at the time. Progress doesn't come overnight, especially when the Conservatives constantly shuffle and re-assign the IA minister. Prentice, Strahl, now Duncan?
Don't give yourself credit for it all, otherwise you'd have more support from everyone.
The whole Canadian aboriginal community is watching you very closely, because you're in bed with the devil; a political party historically known to cheat this nation's first peoples. Remember Mulroney?
You may think Kitigan Zibi is your community, but you're sadly mistaken.
It's unfortunate that you both fail to comment on the contents of what is being said in the videos and/or offer any constructive suggestions. That would be productive. making personal comments serves no one's interest, especially when what you both allege is unfactual so I would invite you to get your facts straight before making any false allegations. It must be easy to make these types of comments while being anonymous. Typical of some people however.
hahaha, you said it UncleAnaesthesia!! your comment will probably be removed again, just as my last comment was marked as "spam" hahaha, someone can't face the truth when it hits him in the face!
Keep in mind, under Brazeau's watch, a vast sum of money disappeared from the Congress destined to educate grassroots children about diabetes. Not to mention allegations of sexual harassment at the workplace. Real aboriginal men RESPECT their women.
Patrick Brazeau is a pariah, he is not a real algonquin.
It will take more than a greasy ponytail and a beaded jacket to convince real anishnabeg otherwise.
P.S: My comment was deleted, proving the moron cannot take criticism like the man who appointed him to the senate. I'll make it my life's work to sink you, you wannabe.
In addition, you claim to be an advocate for underprivelidged FN people and want transparency and accountability, meanwhile your driving around in a pretty porche with questionable alligations that have ben thrown your way?! Should I list them?...
Well said amnihu1!!! Pat you do seem to forget that you were not appointed by us grassroot people! You, yourself are not even a true grassroot anishinabe as you never lived a day in your life in the community you say you are from. Remeber that when you think that you're speaking on the behalf of all of us, because in reality, YOU'RE NOT!! You speak of freezing increase of funding, but only after you have reaped the benefits yourself and had your education paid for by "your community"!!!
Senator Brazeau, I heard you speak nothing new that FNs across Canada haven’t already acknowledged except that you want additional funds stopped. National Chief Atleo wants education funding equalized for underfunded on-reserve schools. Now two of the highest-ranking Aboriginal leaders in Canada are divided. Sit down with Atleo before you undermine his good intentions. Atleo was elected, whereas you were appointed by Harper who won't sign the UN declaration recognizing Indigenous peoples' rights
One initial question: of that $10 billion dollars, what percentage of those dollars are used to cover the administrative costs for the bureaucracy of INAC, Health Canada, CMHC and Service Canada, to name a few?
thats how i feel i am outcasted from my own community for my out spoking voice
but i still survive it and move forward and keep people informed and that there are options.i am so for the funds to be frozen and have acountablity for everyone that is not biose
i would like to say thank you for those words and there is hope out there.i have been asking those same questions , who do we turn to when there is no farness, equal opportunity for every one who hears our voices, the voices that really count &maybe we can rise up with power and not just to be looked down at.
@spseveright, I sincerely hope this is not the case as well. I'm just saying this idea has been thrown out there(and not by myself). I also agree that this shouldn't be a fed/prov issue because I do believe every First Nations person should have access to an education equal to non-Aboriginal people.
@SenPatrickBrazeau The youth need to hear the goodness of their history. Most schools begin teaching Native Studies in grade 9. It would be great if you can make changes for First Nations to be taught their history at an earlier grade. I am so proud of our contributions. Many youth suffer from low self-esteem and they need to learn their history. Please help. I only want what is good for our people and I apologize for sounding rude before.
Our people struggle with an imposed way to govern. It has not kept the fundamental process of accountability in place: And that is to have the leaders working closely with their people. By being a system that detaches our leaders from their people, we have neglected the fundamentals of accountability. More democracy in the form of participation, debate and proper representation is what we need.
Knightmax, I have asked Nat'l Chief Atleo to meet on several occassions. To date, we have not had the opportunity to meet officially. Hopefully in the near future, we will sit down and discuss these issues.
Thank you for the question. I am currently looking into the issue. I have asked INAC for an explanation. Some have suggested that it'sbecause First Nations people do not pay taxes on reserve so they may receive less. Others have suggested that federal/provincial jurisdiction issues may come into play. In any event, I will post the factual answer(s) when I receive them.
@SenPatrickBrazeau Are you saying since First Nations people do not pay taxes on reserve that INAC wants them to pay an imposed tax right off the top? I hope it isn't a federal/provincial jurisdiction issue because don't you agree every child should have an equal opportunity to education?
I agree that Chiefs have to accountable especially for education funding however can you answer why on reserve students receive $2000 less than provincial students?
Let's have some accountability of the massive budget managed (or mismanaged) by the Harper government, or 'junta' as i refer to them (see Naomi Klein's The Shock Doctrine
sounds like a robot.....Eeee
