  • why arent they more popular? they're awesome!!

  • @skeena42 this isn't intended to be rock and roll, this is soul, this is reggae. this isn't a commercial, these are individuals voicing the contempt towards the Australian government's negligence of Indigenous Australians. Please, pull your thick head out of your fat and ignorant right winged arse, and feel free to voice your opinions when your interests span beyond that of yourself.

  • DEADLY from a GUBBA

  • i love it!!!!!!ich liebe euch!

  • i love it!!!!!!

  • Awesome song. Love it.

  • awesome!

only thing more awesomer would be yidaki in the background!

    nice song!!

  • 413 politicians did'nt really get it...

  • I LOVE YOU BLUE KING BROWN

  • Try living like an abo

    then you'll understand this song.

    What happened happened.

    the 'whites' colonised in australia

and the abos were treated second class.

200 years later not much has changed...

abos are still treated second class.

Thats the purpose of this song.

  • why did 412 people dont like this song???

  • Why's the tyrant gotta be a white man? Sadaam Husein? All those genocidal leaders in Africa? Not white.

  • She's mainly referring to Australia, the white man has oppressed the black man in history. Such a queerl thing to judge one on his/her colour.

  • Great!

  • Blue King Brown's Samoan-bred frontwoman, Natalie Pa'apa'a, the face of a more diverse and globally aware Australia.

  • WOW! :)

  • wicked song/ wicked band.

    seeing them live this weekend

  • I'm trying to learn this song by ear, so if anyone knows a tutorial or somewhere i can get sheet music for keys i will be eternally grateful :)

  • All this about what white do and what black do. Really its what men do to other men when they hate. When they have no fear or reprisal or punishment. What Europeans did all over the world is still happening black on black, yes. But its always happening where there is no one to bring judgement on those perpetrators. We live in an enforced peace be under no illusion. If all our cops suddenly dropped dead we would have the same here.

  • I won't go on and on just a quick mention of

    The EritreanEthiopian War

    War in the congo

    Tribal war in Kenya

Somalia...and on on on it goes. Black man hacking other black men women and children to death.Hands chopped of short sleeve or long..brutality in it's extreme. Oh sorry i made all this shit up so sorry. Off to listen to some reggae now from the inspirational Joseph Hill (R.I.P.) and culture..Peace

  • The fighting between Tutsis and Hutus in central Africa has been going on for decades, ever since Belgium lost control of the area in the 1950s. In 1994, ethnic fighting in Rwanda led to the massacre of at least half a million Tutsis and sent more than a million Hutus fleeing to Zaire, Tanzania, and Burundi

  • The RUF launched its first campaign into eastern Kailahun (Sierra Leone) from Liberia on March 23, 1991. In the four months following, about 107,000 refugees fled the conflict into Guinea. Foday Sankoh was head of the military wing of the RUF. According to Sierra Leone and writer Abdul Koroma, the rebels were quick to demonstrate their brutality, decapitating community leaders and putting their heads on stakes

  • Love the song as it has a wicked beat and yes white fellas are not perfect but there is much more brutal things being done to blacks by blacks..such as my next several post will remind you

The Sierra Leone Civil War began in 1991, by the Revolutionary United Front (RUF) under Foday Sankoh. Tens of thousands died and more than 2 million people (well over one-third of the population) were displaced because of the 11-year conflict

  • TRU TALK -2 dope

  • Saw them at Blues Fest earlier this year (May) at Byron Bay, Australia. They were my fave act, along with Ayo...love love love

  • which way? our way.

    Blue King Brown you rock

  • such an epic band. seriously i wish all the best to them.

  • its no mans parents that are to blame for the childs actions. they are definitely at fault for the laws and the stigma that is left on the child, but it is the childs choice to do good, and to change is the key to harmony. it is our choices, today that will make a difference for tommorow.

Yesterday has nothing to do with tomorrow...

  • Parents are in a way really, they give you morals and show you what is wrong and what is right.

A couple of centuries children learned from their parents that its normal to own people.

Children grow into parents, but into what kind of parents and what morals do they give their children?

  • RhysfromOz - fuck you, white men is the evil of this earth...killing indians, killing black, stole country because of colonization - america, australia... I am white man, but this is the truth and I shy..

  • Then by all means, do a reverse Micheal Jackson and rid yourself of the shame of your great grandparents.

This is stupid. White men isn't responsible for what their great grandparents did.

Just like the Christians now aren't responsible for the inquisition, the Germans now for Hitler and the Nazis. And not all the Muslims responsible for 9/11.

It's the parents that are responsible for their children's actions, not the other way around.

  • I just red all of the lyrics and I discovered that they are full of such lines. I mean "Theyve been making war and deny us peace, They took away the land and then they brought disease" and the next line starts with "those white men..." Wtf - this is fucking racist. If she would at least say "those greedy white men" but no it's just "white men". Screw Blue King Brown!

  • @DrMcSex Some of the band are white.

  • when I heard this sexy voice. i fell in love. That is a pitty, cause I am from czech. But I know tha cat empire too and I know now Australian music is the best

  • i ha see it yesterday in karlsruhe too.....AMAZING!!!

  • Yeah they were great on "Das Fest"

  • I saw them yesterday at Das Ffest in Karlsruhe, Germany. They were awsome, It was the first time I saw them and they thrilled me !

  • If you like this music checkout "the cat empire"

  • i dont see how this song is racist...

  • muy buena cancion

  • she kind of reminds me of bob marley

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

  • Great song

  • I really don't know what the hell people are on about with africa and the african americans, these guys are Australian aboriginal (well actually they have a whole collection of different people in the band)and are from Melbourne. The song was written specifically about land rights and the stolen generation.

They also say that it isn't directed at all white people, mainly the white government.

"we'll be the water for their fire" these guys are so anti-racist it will blow your mind.

  • If any more proof is needed stop at 1:58, the flag in the picture is the aboriginal flag.

  • I don't like the line, "Those white men, who have the key, to black man's, identity"

It sounds like she is blaming white people in America for the African American's problems in the United States and worldwide, even though she has never experienced anything close to slavery in her entire life. Africans have enslaved Africans before, but no one is crying about that. Most races have enslaved their own, and others, to build great empires.

  • Yeah, I don't think what she is referring to has anything at all to do with America. I have a feeling that the song is about Aboriginal Land Rights, AUSTRALIA's history and struggles.

When the Europeans came to Australia they declared the land Terra Nullius (no mans land) and essentially legally adopted all land as their own. I have a feeling this song is about the fight for Aboriginal right to reclaim traditional lands.

  • Don't assume that that line has something to do solely with slavery in America ^ read my comment up there (it was meant to be a reply to your comment).

Im not saying I know the songs exact meaning but because this band is an Australian band and because she does mention Land Rights in the song Im guessing Im on the right page. America is not the only country that has had black/white struggles in the past. Look it up, gain some knowledge, its good for you.

  • I did not know the band was from Australia. It makes more sense now in context with regards to the aboriginal lands.

I appreciate your comment, but please don't use the line, "Look it up, gain some knowledge, its good for you."

When people are condescending, they sound idiotic. I'm doing just fine as far as gaining knowledge, so please don't tell me what I have to do.

  • No, I was being serious - look it up! I guess the issue with writing comments is you can't hear the tone of voice. When you get bored just do it. Also look up the Stolen Generation (also mentioned in the song) while your at it.

The Stolen Generation is probably more interesting than Land Rights.

There are still people today in Australia who are directly affected by both these topics...

  • still is a pretty racist song as it is generalising and saying all white people are bad. if someone were to sing a song about blackmen commiting crime against whiteman, they would be labeled racist but its alright for someone to come out and accuse all whitemen of persecuting black people.

  • you have to look at the whole stolen generation and discrimination against aborigines, she says "those white men who've got the key to those black mans' identity" - obviously a reference to those children who were kept from their true culture...don't forget that Aborigines weren't australian citizens till 1967

  • its about aboriginees, blacks in australia refers to the aboriginals, its about their situation and something the band read in the paper i remember the exact event

  • she might be talkin bout the cia given the black people drugs, tar, everyone know they did when the panthers were geting strong, as they said "a black mu-shi-a will not be ALOWED TO RISE" bad things !!!

  • bass player is my uncle

  • haha im naked!!! who wants a strip tease msg me! 2

  • if you're naked how can u striptease?

  • touche!! XD

  • hahahahah marciklon, one of the most clever comments I have seen on Youtube.

  • i just have one word tot say to this song/video: awesome!

  • love this! :)

  • ive seen these guys at Falls Festival and Pyramid Rock, and they are so good live, so much energy.

  • saw them about 3 hours ago and out of 5 bands they were the best.

  • Jean Guy saw dese guys last week and besides Iron Maiden dis was one of de most amazing shows I have seen dis year. Too bad dey had no cd's for sale at de Calgary show but I scored a shirt.

  • Saw them live in vancouver yesterday!

    They were AMAZING!

  • i saw them live it was insane

  • i think this is the most beautiful girl ever,... i could watch her dance for hours...

  • Power

  • she wishes she was bob marley :p nah jokes they are pretty good

  • great i love u guys, i saw u at the global and support for silverchair and powderfinger, awesome stuff

  • I love BKB music!!!

  • Are they Aussie?

  • Yeah. That's why they're singing about the aborigines in Australia.

  • they sure are.

  • this is an excellent song!!

blue king brown should come back to bello

  • do u live in bello?

    coz i do

didja c them @ the global a few years back?

  • Getsridofache... Natalie and Carlo spent years busking for their bread up and down the east coast of Australia. They didn't get into this for comercial gain. They've payed their dues more than many musos who sing crap about teen love and breaking up with boyfriends, which doesn't make anyone think twice about any issue at all.

  • brilliant song

  • Why do people have to be so political in their music? Yeah express yourself...but crap this could be a good song if she wasnt just raggin on the dirty "white man" the whole time. Its just a lame front that comes with this musical genre. The music is good and catchy im just not a fan of the lyrical content. Pish posh

  • its a song jeez

  • You're not from Australia, are you?

She's got a bloody point. We all just found out about what's going on in the outback communities, and you really don't want to know. Seriously.

Google "Little Children Are Sacred" if you must know. But I recommend you don't.

  • Your comments are idiotic.

Read a little about aboriginal history, maybe then you will understand that this song is sending a good message.

  • you are great!

  • sorry my err...speaking rubbish...apologies. x

  • Comment removed

  • Hey Damien, this was definitely my version, I know the bands version can be found in the side panel, because they used their footage in full screen. great job btw!

  • cheers, yeah i noticed that i had nothing to with this version just that little bit too late - after posting my comments...what a chump hey...you guys did a great job shooting the clip with no money, and the treatment is really nice - well done

  • they were so good last night at canberra for australia day concert

  • are they on tour? does anyone know if they are coming to the u.s. at all?

  • They were just in the U.S. last fall. They backed up Michael Franti.

  • But, have no fear, as I do not, I will be promoting this through other avenues such as youtube, newspapers, media groups, university media, contacting music media channels , etc, until you decide to "get real." I am fed up with wannabe activists that are disinterested in reality whilst there is a commercial gain for themselves.

To ride the road of life, we accept there are many paths.

To ride the road of lifes harsh truths, is the only path to liberate us all.

  • Hey, getsridofache, where is all your hatred coming from? What's wrong with believing in something and wanting change in order to live with some different/better truths. Why do you think Natalie should be held accountable for the actions of her ancestors? Here in America, there are countless numbers of African Americans who have taken back their ancestral/tribal names. I see no problem with it.

  • Your righteous platform would be definitely be weakened by your choice to take on your paedophile grandfathers name. You legend. How dare you promote yourself as revolutionary in the same genre as Che & other greats when in fact it seems you are "pollutionary!" You may decide (& I am sure you will) not to post this entry.

  • What sort of person are you? I'm looking forward to your answer. Why are you asking people to stand up and change the world when you are in fact denying truth? I recently heard on an aboriginal community program, you want people to stand up for aboriginal rights & the rights of marginalised people, but like all commercial activists you bend the truth & do not stand up for the rights of ALL peoples to be safe from abuse.

  • I was recently informed by a friend I trust - that your real name (birth name) is Natalie Chilcote and that your paedophile grandfather on your mother's side is 'Tau Paapaa' who owns the name you have only in recent years taken on for commercial gain. I find it difficult to understand why would a "conscious" person take on a name that belongs to a man that defiled children & women? You are glorifying his name & do not have the human decency to protect his victims from further hurt & abuse.

  • It sounds like life has beat you into submission and now you're taking it out on anyone who rubs you the wrong way. You say you are looking forward to Natalies answer. Well, if you look, none of the BKB videos I've seen on here were actually submitted by the band, so I doubt they will even see your pompus rant. You're barking up the wrong tree getsridofache.

  • getsridofache; Does this mean everyone with the name of Jones should change their name because of what Jim Jones did with his magic cool-aid? What's your last name, I'll bet I can find someone in your family tree that did some wrongs, then you'd have to change your name. Fool.

  • Nice nice nice! I heared BKB in July or Juni on Live eart. Next the think of the day there they were the best.

  • This is so great I know the lead singer!!!:D

    They're awesome live...

  • Damn, it's like the 5th+ time i've seen the video and I finally understand what she's saying LOL

  • Hello. I know about BKB from live earch. They are super and very cute!!!

  • just talking about Australia here but white people have done some shitty stuff that our generation doesn't have much to do with but there is still oppression. like the new laws that have been made for aboriginal communities. they don't affect country towns that have the same shit happening they wouldn't do that to white people would they. now that I've said my piece great song love it.

  • Move to New Zealand, Literal Milk and Honey there :P And plus we invented Pavlova. Chyahhhhh haha.

  • new zeland didnt invent pavlova

  • Dude....yeah it did....

  • pavola ok then but i know its named after a ballet dancer, Anna Pavlova. ok if you say so. you better be right. :)

    btw i love this clip.

  • It's all good man. That's right, named after Anna Pavlova. But it was invented in New Zealand, wikipedia says so :)

  • heh funny yay pavlova? really? =)

  • yay saw them last thurs with silverchair and powderfinger at coffs

  • ayyyye me too!

    how good were they man

i was front front row... the bass nearly killed me

that was a while ago now.. but yeah. classic concert. pouring :D

  • aww dude they were awesome. loved the crazy percussion solos eh

i was rite near the front too

  • yea... whatever happened in the past is wrong... still wrong things happen today, only jah' of armies can do more than something about it.

Great groove though... nice sounding voice

  • haha. i think i saw this in dolly. and uh. iv'e heard a bit of you on triple j. :]!

  • First video I kept in my favourites, everything about it is awesome. Nat is amazing, the band is great and the video editing is perfect. Get the big copy and more from BKB website.

  • simply beautiful..........hope u come to Quebec,Canada

  • i love this song

  • Great music! The perfect touch useing a percussionist!Keep it up! Im a big fan,I tell every one about BKB! Rock on!

  • I don t like the idea of blaming actual white people of what happened to black people loooong time ago. But I can t live without the sound of that music Blue King Brown rocks but the lyrics are too much of a propaganda or something....

  • Hi, I want to say to you that i like this vid! It is Amazing!

I've seen another amazing vid today:

    youtube. com/watch?v=Nh2E5OEQVZA

I think you will like this video also very much! Let's share all video's we like!

Let me know if you liked the video and tell me about other nice video's!

  • nice song!

    good one!

  • great song, i bet that chick can samba

  • i suppose you could link it. but i don't think it's the songs focus. it's about people whose land have been stolen and in turn the native peoples' identity. but if you relate in that sense (the civil rights movement and whatnot), then by all means do.

  • i love this song. the message behind it is empowering to all indigenous peoples. if you don't get it, read up on the Lost Generation of Australia, Native Land Acts of 1862 and 1865 in New Zealand, and the overthrow of the monarchy in Hawai'i, and then say how ignorant this song is.

  • You keep the range to small, this goes into civil rights of america aswell. This speaks for all of those who suffer at the hands of white supremacy.

  • Nice tune and beat. The words and meaning SUCK!

  • guess you didnt understand it then

  • no idea mate no idea..

  • Discover this group at Live Earth. Nice song and chick!

  • great song!

  • me pongo cachondo con esta musiqueta

  • finally a great new band in this emo fucking days

  • i love

  • they were very awesome on Live Earth. good job guys.

  • chvre music!

  • Very refreshing, unless you listen to this type of music all day and night! (CorneliusPickle must) They sound a little like Groove Collective (who no one has ever heard of, but a great band). I don't know what the rest of their stuff sounds like but this tune is nice.

  • saw them and luved just as much.. awesome!! i think the first song was called stand up.. good luck

  • I hate them because they are bland and take an already tired 'green' concept to their songs and dont really have anythign to offer me musically and the woman is annoying.

  • Why should I give a reason as to why I hate this band? Why dont u give a reason to why you like them.

I have an opinion and my opinion is that they are shit.

  • what a terrible shit shit SHIT band

  • I saw them on the LiveEarth broadcast and realized I had seen them here on the Tube. Great band, great sounding song. video is excellent...

  • Didn't know them much here in the US. But after Live Earth, this group became on of my favorite! They sing AWSOME

  • Saw them on LiveEarth too. Brilliant Band :)

  • saw them on live earth, great message, great music, great feeling. Reggae music is life :)

  • Just seen this song on the bradcast of Live Earth in Sydney, they put on a nice set down under

  • these guys are brilliant live. Saw them at Phillip Island's Chill Festival. If you havent seen them, DEFINITELY WORTH IT. bbs boy below.. dont be immature

  • His farents huh?

  • Sure, the message is old, and theyre being sort of ignorant but its great music!

  • This is an amazing clip!! This is a really fantastically made video, I love how you've got the projected images. It's way better than the other version (that the band made- it's too distracting how they've got the images running parallel to the shots of the band). REally really nice work!!!! Best of luck in the future and I can't wait to see more of your stuff!

  • so good! This shows that you really don´t have to have lots of money to make something really amazing!!

  • good beat nice song....don't like the meaning though 'cause nobody really takes into account that white people were slaves as well and treated like shit...such as the Irish when they first came to America..

  • by any chance where you guys play any shows in kalamazoo MI (island fest, blues fest) cause seems like Ive heard you guys in person.

  • i saw blue king brown with the cat empire in canberra it was soooo good

  • Woo this video is finally up on youtube! Was looking for it months back and there were none!Love this song and vid

  • Blue King Brown are the bomb.... hope you guys play at bellingen global carnival again this year!! would be foorkin awesome!!

  • omg let this shit go already, im so tired of this crap.

  • cool:-)

  • It's been two hundred years...how much longer do people need to get an identity?!? What a racist twat. Great music, really spreading the black white hate! Try to unit not fight. oh yeah your music sucks!

  • well, i'm not spanish but that as really good"3 thumbs up"

  • nice, o muy bien
