  • STEVIE SAID, "YOU JUST COME VISIT ME AROUND ELECTION TIME"......DECEITFUL, LYING POLITICIANS DON'T CARE ABOUT US......THEY JUST WANT OUR VOTE!!

  • BIG BROTHER IS THE REAL ENEMY......WATCH AND PRAY FRIENDS!

  • This has approval of all people !! Religious or otherwise..Peace from Canada ...

  • in a class all alone above and beyond any artist

  • If your body doesn't move during this song, you are dead.

  • Lord....let me die before Stevie...I would cry too much if he left us.

MJ, Luther....it's hard to take another hit.

  • @Skinhitta I cried for too celebrities: Aaliyah and MJ. Aaliyah was a baby and she was one of my heroes so I had a good cry and MJ cuz he's freaking Michael Jackson but if Stevie leaves this place before I do, I will cry an ocean. I truly love Stevie Wonder. He brings Joy inside my tears with his Visions.

  • " YOU'VE KILLED ALL OUR LEADERS. I DON'T EVEN HAVE TO DO NOTHIN' TO YOU YOU'VE CAUSED YOUR OWN COUNTRY TO FALL."

  • to think he was 22 when he made this album!

  • Too many people are blind to the truth......Stevie tells the truth and can see it all.

  • Stevie Wonder is the sound of my childhood.. I can close my eyes and listen to his music and it takes me back to good times, with family, being outdoors, loving life. Anyone that cant appreciate this music doesnt have a soul! Thank you Stevie for the Love you have given thru your music~

  • the lyrics makes me sad

  • Stevie Wonder has add so much positivity to my life thank u bother I could alway listen 2 your music and be able 2 release my anger and have a understanding of how beautiful LIfe Is Peace

  • There are things happening on this album that artist still haven't caught up too...TODAY!!

  • You're right, turntapzap! Stevie was, and still is, a musical genius. I can't play keyboards like that--and I can SEE!

  • What did Stevie know about this in 1972? Damn....

  • And I hope you guys dont stay on the surface. GO DEEP the lyrics... he's talking about something very important, something that concerns us all : The future of the Earth

  • Stevie is one of the best Musicians that the Earth has ever had.

Eventhough I'm not sure he's 100% Earthling. Peace

  • Stevie Wonder was honest, and had courage. He speaks his truths. Nowadays those are almost extinguished qualities. Fear?

He foresaw the tragedy of the U.S.: “You´ll cause your own country to fall”. And our leaders once killed by the elite, now are playing bureaucratic games of power. Roaches stills runs allover, unemployment, low wages, discrimination… Stevie the visionary. But they were another kind of people. When move to the other side?

  • I was 11 in '72 and this album blew me away!

  • ahhhhh i love stevie wonder!

  • incredible album profound songs tight and envelopping music.

  • Ever time I heard that song I think of South Africa during the Apartheid era. I remember playing it months after the Soweto riots.

  • I was 14 years old in 1972 Loving this song!!!

  • love this song, the transition from superstitious into this is unbelievably perfect.

  • @godhelp2009 Did you go to my chanle or just write something judgmental and mean first. I am a blind jazz soul americana artist with a life long commitment to music. It all started with Wonders's music. May god help the judgmental.

  • for a blind guy???? what the fuck, homie?

stevie has better eyes than you

obviously your two small globes have brought you naught

  • i remember when i was about 20 i had a record player and 2 huge speakers on either side of my bed, i'd lay in bed and listen to this over and over.

  • HEERLIKKKKKKKK

  • but, someday i will move on my feet to the other---totally bad 2:18 - 2:34 best 16 seconds on the album

  • gotta love the way the harmonica sounds like it's crying

  • I love his music and his politics. He is a big part of why I sound like I do. If you like his music you'll love mine Dayan Kai

  • @dayankai , forgive me if I'm not as convinced as you are that if I like Stevie Wonder's music I'll love yours.

  • @JAYFARRELL31. LOL Thats ......roaches live with us wall to wall. Reminds me of my best friend Leon Huntley. When we were teenagers he came by my house and was singing .....Take a can of biscuits. The song he was TRYING to sing was .....TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS.

  • @rosss1959 lmao@"take a can of biscuits" that's hilarious

  • The wonder of the wprld of popular music.

  • I live in the ghetto!!! wont you come lives us wall to wall

  • president of your soul... so true they make so many decisions for us and get to decide the morality of the country... impressive statement Stevie, so smart.

  • Stevie is simply amazing!! Even after all of these years, his music still sounds fantastic!! His music is truly timeless.

  • talking book best album of all time hands down

  • @lilton25 fo' sho'!!!!!

  • Man that harmonica is telling a story of its own!

  • I am simply not aware of better harmonica work than this. Absolutely outstanding. This song could have been #1 on the charts since its release and it would still be underrated.

  • When I listen to this song, I feel like someone is watching me over my shoulder, and tapping my phone calls. And, even when I run and hide in the closet, it still feel like someone is watching. I just have the weirdest feelings til the song goes off.

  • Another great song from Talking Book! My ex-hubby say him in concert with the Rolling Stones in Indianapolis, and he said Stevie just blew everyone away and was better than the Stones! Love all the songs on this album. And I find it so remarkable that him & Ray Charles could play the piano while blind. Altho Ray lost his eyesite at the age of 3. Stevie never could see. They are just musical prodigies! I took 7 years of piano lessons, could play some songs, but never had the gift! My mother did!

  • The message is as powerful today as it were in 1972 because somethings have remained exactly the same through all the changes, advancements, and improvements made over time. A great meaning song from a great genious.

  • I LOVE the production and songwriting in his albums. Every instrument is clearly in focus and in its' perfect place in the mix. Everything is warm and ALIVE in his songs. Each instrument seems to be a speaking, singing VOICE!

  • This song takes me back to a place when I knew what was real and what was fake. They don't make music this powerful today. It is so relevant 38 years later. Stevie Wonder= Genius..

  • This song is so meaningful on so many levels. Look at these lyrics!

    Your name is big brother

You say that you're watching me on the tele,

    Seeing me go nowhere,

    Your name is big brother,

You say that you're tired of me protesting,

    Children dying everyday,

    My name is nobody

But I can't wait to see your face inside my door

  • You killed all our leaders

I don't even have to do nothing to you,

You've caused your own country to fall.

The last two lines summarize today's society.

  • eat your heart out Dave Matthews Band 30 years before you even existed STEVELAND MORRIS IS THE BEST EVER!

  • @brendonkas Wonderland Band > Dave Matthews Band.

  • He tickles that clavinet that it sounds like a guitar. Nobody touches his shit.

  • @turntapzap Word.!

  • Beautiful choon, with a relevant message that is equally as potent back then as it is now...

  • This is the greatest chromatic harmonica part in all of popular music. His keyboard sound is also amazing. A one-of-kind wonder from Mr. Wonder.

  • stevie is definately a genius

  • truly classic

  • accompanying harmonica is great! Stevie you are a genius!

  • Comment removed

  • When he whips out that harmonica, it takes you to another world.

  • 1969 blasts forever

  • How can a man be blind, but STILL see what's goin on this shady-ass country?Stevie is blessed 4 real.Humans placing all their trust in a president...AKA....A DAMN HUMAN!

  • @classy1973 that's cuz blind people can hear and sense things we take for granted... when someone speaks ... most of the time we are distracted by what we see and not what we are hearing ....

  • Shady ass Presidents! I know thats right Stevie! I dont trust NONE of them!

  • listen classy you dont trust obama is that what u sayin not all president are shady ass as you wouyld put it

  • HAHA..trust obama..haha..every president has been shady to some extent, cause they're human...politics is devilish..it's public affairs for private advantage...

  • Stevie Wonderful's song of Prophecy..came true..Big Brother is watching us all!

  • This is my favorite S. Wonder cut of all time. This sums a lot of things up over a dope beat. Musically and lyrically exceptional.

  • You've killed all our leaders, I don't have to do nothing to you ,you'll cause your own country to fall!!!" so true!!

  • great song. He's blind, but he can play the piano so very very good! Just amazing...

    LOVE YOU STEVIE!

  • this song maks my eyez tear up

  • When he says "you've killed all our leaders," it is obvious to think about MLK, JFK & RFK. And? Who else was Stevie referring to?

  • Malcolm X

  • genius.

  • THESE LYRICS.....THE GOVT' SUCKS!

  • im so happy i got to hear this.

  • I think he was talking about Bush's Economy plan.

  • It was 1972, long before Pres. Bush Sr. and Jr. Richard Nixon was elected to a 2nd term.

But sure, it was largely about the White House economic policy.

  • Grew up listening to this... Didn't know what he was talking about then..... Do now! Thanks Stevie!! I love U!! :-)

  • I listen to all his stuff...this album is so, well, soulful. (Does Stevie even appreciate it as much as I?)

When my guitar teacher brought me "Little Stevie's" original autograph as a gift in 1972...well, needless to say I still have it.

  • One of my ALL TIME FAVES... my parents had this record and I played it a million times in the 70's and 80's. This is the track Stevie wanted to release as the single!!!! but record company released Superstition... this NEEDS to be RE-RELEASED!!! This was a hit that never got the attention it deserved and it means more now than ever! Thanks for posting... Steveland is the purest...

  • this song brings back a lot of memories of summer talent shows. especially with my younger brother. the boy who always wanted to be "grownt up."

  • most poweful song i have ever heard!!

  • ditto

  • This is one of my favorite songs from childhood...5 years old to be exact; my father and older brothers used to play this one religiously Thanks for posting, johnniewalker23!!

  • for a blind guy he is very sightfull

  • yeah he is, and he shows it in every song...

  • "you dont need eyes to see, you need vision"

  • Wow, fantastic comment. So true and beautiful, well said.

  • @fantasticfour61 even if he were a sighted man he is still very sightful

  • Damn Stevie was tellin em like it fuckin is. He should make a song about Palin.

  • Stevie is an insightful idealist. I'm sure he's far too busy than to comment on the silly gimmicked personalities that modern politics are filled with.

  • Oh Wow!! another one from my childhood - just classic classic music and lyrics! Loving this.

  • I think it is an atack on the complacency of democrat politicians as much as it is an atack on 'the man'.

  • From England. Visited Texas last year and I was very shocked that, whilst obviously a very rich country, a lot of it was way poorer than anything you would ever see outside the third world. The U.S. rich must be laughing their arses off. Come to think of it, they are here as well!

  • I'd love to send this song to the president and all the rest of those rich people that have eight ranchesin texas when the inner cities of the USA are filled with violence and hopelessness, the hell with Iraq what about the Bronx!!!!!

  • Cause Clinton never exercised military initiatives(just clandestine ones)? Granted Bush sucks, but people forget that people die everyday from American interests-no matter who the president is.

  • "I dont even have to do anything to you;you caused your OWN country to fall" BIG BIG BIG BIG LYRICS FROM STEVIE...as we refer to him in the hood!!! ONE LOVE JUDAH!!!

  • es una de mis canciones preferidas de su mejor

    epoca los 70

  • Great song.

  • Should be re-released...more poignant now than then

  • eat your heart out Dave Matthews Band 30 years before you even existed STEVELAND MORRIS IS THE BEST EVER!

  • They should play this during every presidential election!!

  • Way better than He's Misstra Know It All

  • why would any god bless America?

  • Good point, but then again, why the hell would any god bless human beings? If I had divine powers, it seems to me I would want to get as far the fuck away from anything as selfish, greedy, stubbornly ignorant, bloodlusting, or narcissistic as mankind. But, than again, I'm a cosmic vulgarian.

  • A quarter of a century later and still so poignant. God, please bless America.

  • thanks this is a classic!
