Hey man! Instead of making a REMAKE of your short here, I'm going to just produce a 5-10 minute short inspired by it, The Ninja Guardians, which I'm glad you saw the posted preview of it. I will use this video + MOCAP/pre-setup martial arts moves for the characters in it. I'll animate some fight scenes by hand, but I would like my movie to look like Ninja, Ninja Gaiden + Ninja Blade! Cheers!
@jweinrub - YES, I will buy some pre-made fight poses at 3D sites, and tweak them for my movie. There are some PRO pose sets out in the market for just $5-10 each set. Will boost the realism of my work and the movements will look more realistic. I need the HELP - Manual animating by hand takes WEEKS! ~ haha
Yeah, manual animating by hand can take weeks, depending how much time you are investing in it. That doesn't mean it's bad cause it took me three months to do forty something seconds on the fight scene alone on the third part of The Face Off.
@jweinrub - Uh, yep, animating can be made quickly, OR, in my CASE, made in a couple months. HAHA - Simple scenes are created very fast, but, complex and huge scenes take weeks to create. However I animate today, I'm trying to get it made fast and make it look the BEST I CAN. We'll see. ;-}
I've used Poser before, but nothing artistic. I never got into it cause I was more into creating my own models and sets and what not. Right now, I need to make some animation corrections on my Heroes of Action short cause doing a walk cycle in a slant isn't going well and I'm going to use other measures to finish up the animation. how's your work coming along?
@jweinrub I have quite a few projects underway but finding the time to get them finished is always a problem. I often build props etc but building my own characters is not my thing, I much prefer to use ready made models. Good luck with walk cycle.
@roco6699 The Heroes of Action animation is done roughly, but now I'm re-rendering scenes so I can see how it looks fully before anything else has to be changed. I agree that ready made models are a lot easier to use cause you can get to the animation a lot faster. the reason why I don't use ready made models is that they cost money to get the ones I really like, so i create my own. i like building my props and sets as well.
I always love watching this. I'd like to see the movies you could create IF you had more time and ideas. I'm planning my short inspired by THIS dude. It will be FUN ;-}
Somewhat. I say that cause at the time I was working on another animation called THe FaceOff at the time. I worked on it off and on during my spare time due to work and school.
Haha... nice tactic 0:41.never thought of that. Drown your opponent by hurting their foot 1st, then attack them while they lying on ground. I'll remember that.. LOL. Nice animation!
Hey dude! I comment too much, but could I take this movie IDEA here, and go a BIT further??? Instead of a pre-quel or sequel to THIS or FACE-OFF, how'z a bout I come up with a larger story based on THIS movie? HIGH END also. I could make it IF I plan it right. That would be fun, and I could make a short like this in less than a month. Time and budget willing. U OK with that? This short is awesome. Entertaining ;-D
Haha - I just watched yer video, enjoyed IT, then that idea popped in my tiny but creative HEAD. This short can be just 2 minutes or even 5. I'll get back to you when I come up with something. Cool! I'd like to use your music and even voice, if you can ever get a microphone. They are like $20 at BestBuy or Wal-Mart. I may use my voice 2 ;-P
That's cool. As a matter of fact, I think this will be better than doing a prequel to the FaceOff. I may get new computer in the near future. This means that I may get a high end graphics card and get more RAM!
Nice work! I couldn't animate something that long my mind would float off somewhere into Neverland and then play with Tinker Bell. But over all dude this is look fancy!
I want to go back to Maya, but there isn't a PLE version for 9 at all, just a trial version. Are you still still doing animation and videos or are you taking a break from it?
Did you just post this Jay? Wow - LOL! At 0:46. EPIC! This is pretty good. I like the look and the animating. Let's see if I can EVER come UP with a movie this good ;-P Nice! I likez it
Thanks. I hope to do another one in Animation Master that will have a futuristic car chase and gunfight. I'm going to try to make it at least four minutes to seven minutes long.
just came acros this one....cool work and I assume your music too.

MOCAP is good, I can't wait to see how it's used for your animations man. pre-Setup isn't bad also.

Do use Poser or Maya and the figures are more real.

I usually don't go for realism when it comes to my animations. I like to make my characters a bit more stylized. :)

Your basic movements are good.
What you could try to do is add subtle movements as the characters walk or run.
For example, you can have the torso sway just a little.
Greasegirl 2 years ago
I'll keep that in mind in the next animation. Thanks. :)
