  • I think of this song before I fall asleep.

  • you have a great talent ..i think that will help you in your futur

    ..

  • Okay I'll admit it. I saw the Imogen Heap one and suddenly I am watching them all. I'm very impressed by this. I only have one request. If at all possible, any chance you could do 'When you wish upon a Star' Because when I hear this I keep getting that in my head.

  • @TGHibiki hmmm that's not a bad idea. Maybe I'll write and arrangement myself ;)

  • @TGHibiki So since you commented, I've written my own arrangement. Thanks for the idea!

  • @danwright32 Cool. Glad to have given the idea then! Can't wait to hear it!

  • Beautiful job! I really enjoy your work! Have you thought of doing something by New York Voices? Their music just cries out to be sung by someone of your caliber and talent.

  • @jmaxton I have.. I can't decide on a song though. Also, I'm really busy right now.

  • awesome!

  • choraliers represent!

  • @CharlieDaChoralier love yoou chatlaaay

  • You just became one of my favorite youtubers. Never have i heard a cover of this song of such quality. Bravo my good sir, bravo.

  • @TheStreamsideMusic wow thank you so much!

  • Dude!!!! I got chills!!!! That was awesome!!!! Thank you for this videos!

  • This is really good. Try to work on your vowels, keeping them open and elongated. It will bring the overtones in each note out a lot more, making you sound fuller and stronger.

  • @Sn0wSC thank you. I wish I could get better vowels. But there's honestly only so much you can do while covering about 5 octaves.

  • Great job! your blending with yourself is wonderful and it does the piece justice. Thank you for making some wonderful music!

    Best,

    A Music Major at GMU

  • GREAT job..its pretty DOPE tht you can sing all of the parts..

  • Is this the piece by Eric W. ?

  • @Kindigitty yes.. Eric Whitacre wrote this..

  • @danwright32 Ah okay thought so. We played this in symphonic, wasn't really used to the lyrics. But lovely piece :) Great performance here.

  • @Kindigitty thank you :)

  • I love this so much wow come to me

  • I love this so much.

    Marry me? ;D

  • Awesome. Future selection recommendations - anything by Rutter, Barber Adagio.

  • Good LORD that was incredible!!!!!!! I was crying because it was so beautiful!!!! I would marry your voice if I could and let it caress me gently to sleep every night!!!

  • If you would just add some dynamics, this would be even more beautiful! Take your time in some places, instead of plowing through the words

  • @choraliercrazy7294 well the tempo is my choice and I stand by it. the dynamics are very difficult to do when singing all the parts by yourself, and I've been working on that

  • 3:22 - 3:36 Sounds of heaven. oh my god.

  • I cannot stop listening to this song... I think this is even better than Whitacre's Virtual Choir's version. =]

  • The first thing was the first word is pronounced Thee and not The. I'm guessing that you are a Tenor 2 (with Bass, Countertenor, & Soprano notes). Towards the end when the Soprano 1's have a high A, you did amazing for a guy. Keep up the good work and you should definitely do more songs by Eric Whitacre. (:

  • great everything my friend. can i recommend better vowels for when you're singing more formal choral style?. if those are the words for it. you are excellent at everything truly but i can tell you are a good barbershop singer more and so I see why you sing the way you do in this.

  • Amazing blend, btw. :P

  • THIS. IS. AMAZING. You are gifted.

  • amazing idea and song, as well as a voice to undertake both and make the result even better

  • Our choir professor had us listen to this in class this morning. Eric Whitacre is a beautiful composer and this choral piece by far is my favourite. His instrumental pieces are equally as beautiful :)

  • wow....just amazing words cannot describe.

  • This is incredible.

  • I know this is SATB, but how may parts are there within each section? I sounds like there's about 8-10 different parts, like 1 and 2 Soprano, 1 and 2 Alto, and so on.

  • @milkacowTv11 there are 8 parts. It's SSAATTBB

  • @danwright32 Are you sure? it sounds like 10.

  • @milkacowTv11 I'm pretty sure... I was there for most of these takes ;-)

  • @danwright32 Lolz. How high does the Soprano1 and Bass2 go? Like specific notes. I want to recommend it to my Choir directior. we have the numbers about 50-60 people, with 60-75% being girls, but the guys are the stronger singers.

  • @milkacowTv11 the bass 2's have a low Eb and the Soprano 1s have a high Ab

  • @milkacowTv11 It probably sounds like 10 parts because at the climax all parts split in to 2, but each part has a note that is suspended for 2 to 10 beats. Another possibility is the overtones he creates. He has a truly remarkable voice and talent.

  • Your vocal range is just.... amazing. I envy :P Keep it up, you are great. Are you in any professional choir or anything? Cuz you should be..

  • @TheRedGynger thanks =]

I'm not in a professional choir, but I am in a couple at school

  • @danwright32 Well, that's great :)

  • Yeah, "WOW!" comes to my mind as well...

    Fantastic~

  • Wow, im in band and i usually dont like choral pieces...this just blew my mind i listen to it all the time lol

  • if eric hasn't seen this, he needs to.

  • Incredible! You are gifted and talented. Did you use Sony Vegas or another video editor? What DAW did you use?

  • @scootergreen3 I used logic pro for audio and final cut pro for video. I'm not exactly sure what a DAW is...

  • @danwright32 Thanks danwright32. I didn't know what a DAW was either for a long time. Actually you're using a daw and one of the very best ones. daw is a fancy word for digital audio work station. I would rather they call them a recording system for the computer. Ha! Best to you. Your talent is rare!! I am working on doing this to. scootergreen3

  • This is simply amazing!! Your range is incredible and your overall tone quality and blending ability puts me in awe! YOU are one talented choir, Mister.

  • GREAT JOB

  • I'm very impressed with your range. What do you sing in a group choir. I'm a 1st, 2nd, Tenor and a Baritone Bass. My conductor likes to move me around.

  • @MrWaterpolo21 thank you! I sing tenor 1 in choir

  • @danwright32 No prob. I was just amazed how high you can sing while still sounding good

  • is it just me or does the chord at 0:04 exactly sound really wrong - or maybe its because the bass is too loud? or something like that? i have no idea.

  • Hi, just wondering, do you have perfect pitch (aka absolute pitch)? You seem to be perfectly in tune with yourself, which is possible without perfect pitch, but you do it so well!

  • @techmanaus Hi! no, I don't have perfect pitch. What I do have is relative pitch, as well as the ability to stop recording and start over if I make a mistake ^_^

  • @danwright32 Dude, this was amazing! I am trying to do the same with a few people I know. What? Program did you use to make the video with that many split screens?

  • @sykoperson I used final cut pro for the video editing

  • Bravo! (from Italy)

  • there is no way that this can be good for your voice. its quite good though, well done. i still have an extremely hard time believing that you have 5 octaves...

  • @thegrassman9854 @thegrassman9854 @thegrassman9854 this guy has even more than I do youtube(dot)com/watch?v=Kdp4NHWr7G8 ^_^

  • @thegrassman9854 I remember him saying in the comments of one of his other videos that he adjusts the pitch for the really high stuff. He said he uses final cut pro.

  • @Studio11B I actually NEVER said that. I do use final cut pro for video editing. But I have NEVER used pitch correction for anything

  • @danwright32 I'm really sorry for saying that then. I didnt mean to offend you at all. I must have confused it with something else i saw. Again I'm really sorry and I'm deleting my comment.

  • @the5legitteens It's fine! you didn't offend me at all. I just don't want people thinking that I do when I don't

  • Your voice has such a happy, bright sound! As if you're actually enjoying what you sing!!! I love it!!!!!!! <3

  • @UzumakiDonnoHinata well I do enjoy it ^_^ thank you

  • You know what's great about a one person choir?! It's nearly impossible to screw up the blend :P

  • This is amazing.

  • You should do Eric Whitacre's Water Night. That song is by far the most amazing song ever. You are amazing!

  • My only critique is the noticeable nasality I can hear in every voice part, which stands out quite a bit. Other than that I'm impressed that you can hit the notes you're hitting and that your voice has lasted that long under such abuse.

  • OMG! What range!

  • wow how have i not come across you earlier? anyway im subscribing to you :) your great. this is a little too fast for this piece in my humble opinion, but it was great:)

  • Gosh how old are you anyway? this must have taken forever to accomplish this much of a range... i mean unless you were born with it :D

  • @smexy141 I'm 18 as of now, but I'll be 19 at the end of the month. and I've had a pretty large range for a while.. but yes, I did have to work a while to get the extremes that I'm now able to accomplish

  • @smexy141 shoot i can sing over 5 and a half octaves! i do love love singing alto and 2nd sop..but i would like to knw how he did this so that i can give it a try haha

  • As soon as you hit the soprano range at Letter B (dont know if band version is the same as the choral version) I knew this was awesome

  • @drumsforever101 haha it's an A in the choral version.. but I've gotten up to a D in one of my other videos :)

  • @danwright32 I was talking about rehearsal letters, not notes

  • @drumsforever101 oh whoops haha

  • I love alot of your videos :) I wish I could sing this well... i'm just an ammature. Although I have committed every summer going to a choir camp which is my absolute life! :) you have inspired me to pursue my hopes and dreams of becoming a singer :) Thank you!

  • @smexy141 that means a lot! keep singing, no matter what

  • Despite your vowels being a bit wide, it doesn't sound bad, so it doesn't matter!!! This is definitely the best thing I've listened to all day, and I've had YouTube playing for quite some time. This is amazing! My jaw literally dropped. Your range is phenomenal.

  • This is flipping fantastic.

  • Amazing, your'e my hero.

  • Wow, wonderful job, I enjoyed this so much! I try to join the choir also, but ill at the moment... hehe, I think I keep it at alto or mezzo soprano.

    Happy New Year!

    Roeleke (twirretwarre at youtube)

  • i like your hat :3

and also, this is amazing! :P

  • This is really cool!. Very impressive range. We did this song in my choir this year and i thought it sounded cool in SATB... this is AWESOME

  • eiii knooo that sleeep is caaaaaameeeeeeennnng suuuuuuun

  • Its Eric Whitacre minieyke, step off, I'd like to see you do better, this song has like a baggillion parts and some of the time the same consonants aren't supposed to be sung together. Danwright32 I think it sounds wonderful thank-you for doing a Whitacre piece!

  • Comment removed

  • This is wonderful and extremely impressive, but can I just point out one TINY thing? The first word is not The as in Thuh, its The as in Thee. Sorry, other than that, phenomenal man

  • Your low range is so strong that it sounds great especially during the climax!

  • Actually, your vowels need more work. You need to be able to unify them... with yourself. Drop your jaw, and round out your lips.

  • @minieyke actually my vowels are pretty decent when I'm just singing 1 part in a real choir… but it's really difficult to keep the same vowels over the course of almost 5 octaves

  • @danwright32 Relax your tongue, keep the tip just behind your teeth to form consonants

  • @minieyke …yes I know how to form consonants. But it's difficult to keep them consistent when I singing to the extremes of my range

  • @minieyke Just so you know, when you make these kinds of comments, it makes you look like an insecure jerk, who's looking for something to criticize about someone who can sing circles around you. Now, for all I know, you may regularly sing at the Met, and know what you're talking about, but you come across as a jealous douche.

Let his voice teacher give him lessons, you, as a random stranger, should just sit back and enjoy the awesome singing.

  • This is so awesome!!!!!!! i love you!!!!

  • Dan .. just found you .. This is AMAZING. What exquisite beauty.

  • This is very moving

  • This is SO impressive :] Keep singing. Don't ever stop :D

  • this definitely deserves a subscribe!

  • Lose the scarf.......otherwise excellent ^^

  • omg great amazing awesome job!!!!!! the high notes made me smile!!! and the musical clashes were beautiful!!!

  • Holy crap, you're amazing...

  • your sooo lucky to have the range u have! ive only got 3 octives :(

  • Maaaannnn! that is soo incredible!

  • I'm impressed...truly :] I really enjoyed this. I miss singing this so much...

  • So which part do you feel the most comfortable singing? They're all very good!

  • @flippingdaisyburgers I usually sing tenor 1

  • This is so much fun! You have quite a voice. I have to admit I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much if you weren't so cute. Keep up the good work, young man. I hope you become rich and famous, but without the drugs and scandal.

  • Thank You!

  • So good... Keep up!

  • What do you use to record and edit your videos?

  • @buzzerbeater9000 I use logic pro for audio and final cut pro for video

  • AMAZING !

  • and just a little constructive criticism, since i believe you are passionate about your music, try to work on your a vowels, when you sing "and" on the tenor 2 part it seems like you are partial forcing it.

  • @BackLaneFilms2 yeah I've been working on vowels a lot.. but it is hard to keep perfect vowels over a 4 and half octave range

  • I did this same piece in my choir, we did it bit slower in the beginning but your rendition was still quite good.

  • Do you ever take requests??

  • @Icandoitifiwant I don't actually take requests. But I'm always looking for cool a cappella songs and I don't know anything near to every song ever written. So I'm more than happy to hear what people want me to do. It doesn't necessarily mean I'll do it, but if you show me a really cool song I might add it to me todo list. You can let me know on Facebook what you want me to do. there's a link on my main channel page

  • This is a little creepy. BUT. You are so talented!!!

  • dude! you're a freaking awesome tenor (1 and 2), baritone and bass! Although I must sayi am very impressed by your falceto as well :)

  • Comment removed

  • I would love you forever if you did "Nox Aurumque" by Whitacre!

  • @MrTenorlicious maybe soon ;)

  • great job! just make sure when you say the word "the" infront of a word that starts witha vowel, pernounce it as "thee".

  • Hey man, So first i listened to Lux... Ive sang that song. You did AMAZING. I wish that i could meet you and sing with you. Im a soprano 1. There are great things in store for you :)

Keep singing. It does the heart good.. and lord knows mine too lol

  • Chords+me= :D

  • did you use autotune?

    this is incredible :) cheers!

  • @luv4life78 nope, no autotune!

  • @danwright32 ahhh that's amazing :D teach me your ways!!

  • @luv4life78 haha it's not really that difficult if you've been singing/taking lessons for as long as I have… and have the range for it :)

  • Nice range.

  • thats a lot of the same dude... lol jk good job man sounds beautiful.

  • Are the high parts your actual falsetto or did you autotune?

  • @adamkajones it's actually my falsetto

  • Good idea, and well executed in some ways, but not musical at all...

  • It sounds autotuned because it's all one person singing, so "everyone" is obviously in tune with "each other."

  • Dude. how intense would it be if you made like a 48 or 64 piece virtual chorus piece. i know it would probably be a pain to make and edit and all that. but that would be ridiculously amazing

  • 3:00 <3

  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!! SING SHENANDOAH!!!

  • It only sounds autotuned because A) He's incredible, and B) Being a one man choir pretty much garuntees a solid sound if you're good. Refer to A for this answer.

  • Incredible job.

  • i listen to this maybe 10 times everyday now.

  • Dude where do you get your sheet music to make these?

  • @shmo15 I sang this with a choir and just used that sheet music

  • @danwright32 Ha thats pretty awesome. how ironic that my chorus teacher came across this video looking for good recordings so we could sing this song for one of our school concerts. he had some good points to make. like how each part works together because all of your vowel sounds are virtually the same. so its a win win situation. that was a great job btw. any idea where i can get the mp3 of this?

  • @shmo15 thanks! and yes, you can download the audio from my bandcamp account. I can't post links here, youtube won't let me, but there's a link in the about me section on the main page of my channel

  • also, I would definately stick to chroral pieces

  • how long did it take you to finish the high soprano recordings? thats got to take a tole on your voice, you can't really try that for that long for one day

  • @TimmLaguna I finished all the Sopranos in the same day. It's the basses that I had to spread out over a couple days

  • this is seriously incredible. amazing job.

  • You HAVE to email me your next piece... Or what you're doing for your next one. Because this, was amazing.

  • @unbeatablebee you can automatically have youtube tell you when I release a new video by clicking the subscribe button

  • .....(applause)

  • IVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR SOMEBODY TO DO THIS!!!

  • This is beautiful in soooo many ways!

  • Bloody amazing!

  • My apologies for the rude comments I made a couple weeks back. Pretty obnoxious on my part. I saw the comment on the EQ, and I believe that's what I was hearing that made me question your singing. Overall, it sounds really good. My only complaint would be your consonants. It's making it difficult at times to understand the text. Intonation and dynamics are very impressive though.

  • @Domangelo22 apology excepted. I'm not quite sure what I can do to change my consonants… do you mean that they don't line up? because that's kinda hard to do with 32 tracks

  • @danwright32 I didn't mean it that way. Everything is lined up pretty well actually. I believe you could definitely emphasize the consonants a little more though (examples: "dark an(d) deep:" the d consonant on "and" is almost inaudible. Stuff like that). Just my opinion though. I did this piece in high school a few years back and my choral director was very picky about the diction.

  • @Domangelo22 oh ok. I understand now. thanks, I'll work on that

  • You are amazing, and very cute :)

  • @lilred922 thanks ^_^

  • @danwright32 you're very welcome. :)
