for all you hard core fans, this was shot in an actual house...and its still much the same way it was in this show. Visible on google earth at 55 Kewferry Road, Northwood, Middlesex, UK.
The Queen at the recording of a sitcom? lol I'd be too scared to make a joke at all for fear of her stony face not laughing. Well done to Pen, Paul, Richard and Felicity for getting through that half hour nightmare
@misternewham Yeah I caught that too, very eerie, who do u think it is, the resident studio ghost? lol
It was interesting to watch this. If we can thank the Royal Family for anything then it's the fact we got to see the set up for the recirding of a 1970's sitcom which was nice to watch because you don't gt to experience the original recording when it's all cobbled together for television and is perfectly seamed. I liked seeing the joins.
Wow thanks for upploading this. I´m a big fan of the Good Life and have the DVD´s but this is not on there and I didn´t even know this existed so this is a real Treat.
I'd quite happily pay double my TV licence fee if the BBC were FREE to keep producing television of the quality of The Good Life. I'd even let the Queen have a bit of my money if she smiled like this all of the time (nowadays, she really should cheer up a bit).
@therealcaldini I think it is the responsiblity of the viewers to refuse to watch the shite and then it wouldn't be made, unfortunately today people seem to be content to watch just about anything, so it is our fault for accepting it.
It was one of the best programmes in the UK. And just to point out, Queen Elizabeth is not just Queen of England, she is the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Just a tad more than just England. And she also holds many more titles. Perhaps you should look her up!
I guess back then producers knew when to quit while they were ahead, instead of churning out episode after episode until the concept was no longer fresh, funny or entertaining in any way.

At the end of the video, there's a picture of a girl right at the end of the 4 second countdown on the monitor.

strange to hear the narrating voice being so precious about the queen etc., can't believe it's only been 30 years, the culture really has changed.

I agree that it was one of the best programs produced in the UK but I wonder why there were only 4 seasons??
