  • if this aint bel canto i dont know what is Usually the tempo is faster on bel canto style technique dude you are spectacular i too sing opera and dude you are awesome

  • thanks for this great song!!!

  • This tempo is a bit faster than what's marked in my score (andante) but I like it much better -- it flows nicely.

  • Piękne wykonanie

  • @ktrum492 you're not supposed to hold the high note on the first penero, the second one has a rit. and a fermata.

  • Great!!!

  • To be fair, this phrases could have been a little smoother and he could have held out the high As in the first peneros a little longer, but that aside, I second everything said about his tenor tone, very full and very naturally tenor timbre, as well as very good ornamentation. Best rendition of this song behind Pavarotti's.

  • Of all the renditions on youtube, this is my favorite by far. I am singing this song for an all-state chorus audition, and I plan to use this version to study by. His voice is much clearer and seemingly fuller than all the singers who try to sing this song very deep, or "in the mud" to me. Awesome!

  • Simply beautiful. Strings are a great compliment to the piece. I love his "additions" to the piece. Just fabulous!!

  • Un imno bellisimo para el Estado de la Belleza un pais lejano hoy en dia al que me gustaria emigrar

  • me ancanta la interpretacion de este senor, hermosisima!!!!!

  • i included these variations when i performed the song and it feels better. feels like you're giving the audience more moments. yep.

  • Exquisite,,,thank you.

  • I dont like the variations, the rest is very beatiful.

  • and why don't you post it with pavarotti, in his maturity?

  • beautiful

  • I've said it so many time, Ramon Vargas has to be one the most naturally akin to the tenor. Completely full tone yet not the "former baritone sound" which is cool in its own way but for this type of material this is perfect. A+++ NICE!

  • The best male voice I've heard so far singing this song. thanks for posting!

  • awesome

  • The best rendition of the song on Youtube!!! Awesome!!!

  • que bela voz!!!!!

  • Soberbio!!!

  • I think this guy is underrated. His timbre is so much nicer, and fuller, than some of the people we keep seeing around right now..

I love this song, thanks for the upload.

  • agreed. His mezza voce is amazing as well.

  • Muy bella interpretación

  • esto es una joya del bel canto. ya quisiera juan diego florez cantar asi.

  • Does anyone have a recording of Vargas singing Amarilli? Please post if possible! I would love to hear it!!! Thank you.

  • All these songs can be found in his cd: In My Heart - 17th and 18th Italian Songs

A wonderful cd to have in one's cd library.

  • Agreed.

  • melpomenea -- Glorious music and singing !!! The sound quality is so great I could not help but request for a perfect pairing of this aria with another ageless beauty - Amarilli, mia bella by Caccini from the same RV recording. Thanks a lot, it's pure joy to listen to your posting.
