his wrong. You could travell 10 000 LY in 1 year at LESS then lightspeed. Due to relativistic-time-distortion. At wery close to lightspeed , what would be a year to you woud be 10 000 years to the rest of the univers. You could also travel to the center of the galaxy in a year, 30 000 LY(at an even closer fration to lightspeed), but if you travelled back at the same spped , moore then 60 000 years would have pased here on earth. Humans would probebly be extingt when you got back.

I do not get it.

K-PAX is supposed to be 1,000 light years away from Earth. Later Prot says that he traveled with 6c to get here and that he aged 7 years on his way. 6c translates to about 1,080,000,000 km/h. That would translate to about 1,000 years of travel?????

@75mws relativistic time -distortion,,,you simply cant use Newtons Velocity x Time=Distanse, time is not linear or absolute,, nevertheless you on to something,, he could infact get here in less then 1 year , at less then lightspeed, due to the observed fact that at close to lightspeed time slows down almoest to a complete stopp. Its called relativistic time-distortion. (excuse my spelling , Im not English)
