@naniebby1 thanks, hun... i curled it so that the bottom/end of the braid would do something more than be straight and boring. unfortunately, you guys can't see it. also, as i pulled more hair out (later on) those pieces had curl/movement, too.

@1Robbinh yes and no. i wanted the end of the braid that was left loose to be curled. it wasn't my intent to braid down so far, though, lol. but hey...sometimes you just go with flow : )

@asgreenasthesky1304 good question! my experience is that it works well on layered hair that is more thin than thick. i've tried a similar braid on ladies with bountiful, voluminous hair that was layered and the braid looked bulky and choppy. not like i envisioned. thinner/fine hair w/layers? it braided and held perfectly. all ladies had very long hair, just different densities.

the curling iron is a 1/2" electric marcel made by BabyLiss. it came with my school kit and i can't remember seeing them for sale around. but...most larger beauty supplies carry electric marcels. And if you can't find one in person, I'm almost certain they can be found on the web. BabyLiss makes quality, durable products and most of my tools (flat irons of diff sizes, blow dryers, more irons, lol) are BabyLiss. totally heart them...

Question: when you are braiding your hair, your obviously lace braiding it but are you frenching or dutching it? cause you mention its french but it look like a dutch. PS, MGMT=WIN

@roxy2190 hey roxy...there are so many ways to braid and i'm so, so sorry if my choice of lingo got you a lil confused. I don't know what dutch braiding is (funny that i do it, though...lol) but i do know that my fingers are moving all sorts of different ways! that's because i didn't want the braid to lay flat on my head, like a regular french braid would. so, i used the fingers on one hand to keep the hair off of my scalp, while i pulled sections of hair with my other hand. hope that helped : )
