one time,my flyer went flying forwards because she looked down,but i was there to catch her and i fell on my knee a couple times to catch her and one time my flyer kicked me in the nose when she lost her balance coming down,but im still there to catch her,even tho i most likley broke my nose i still did cheer!!:)you dont have to be skinny to cheer,somones mom told her daughter that she cant cheer because shes to fat.thats very hurtful.like this if you agree you dont have to be the skinniest.

cheerleading is insane evem if your just in varsity (for whom that dont know 7th and 8th grade) I'm NOT skinny, but I work really really hard with 5 practices a week for each 3 hours! I also play travel soccer and cheerleading might even be harder!! WE WORK OUR BUTTS OFF!!! we have compitions, it not like we just stand there on the side and yell "GO TEAM" and wave our pom poms!

i didnt like this video. im a cheerleader and i have people on my squad who are not thin but AMAZING tumblers,bases, and jumpers. being a cheerleader in not always about how thin and pretty u are. its about spirit and making the team feel good and boost up thier confident. but its also very hard doing cheers,jumps,stunting,tumbling and dancing all of it non-stop at a game and even practice. the dances may not be that long but they go fast so sometime a 30 sec song can have like 8 eight-counts
I'm a cheerleader, 90lbs , bbut i look kinda fat.. but my jumps are the highest on the squad and my tumbling is the best on the squad and I'm the best base !!!!! Cheerleading is not just about dancing around and being skinny , theres WAY more to it then that ! Trust me all-star cheerleading can like preach it to ya ! it's hard, just like basketball& football& soccer& softball so , we feel the pain just as much as those other sports do. Yes, cheerleadin' is a sport!

@addictedtocheer101 When i say difficult i dont mean dangerous. I play football now and it teaches alot of discipine and perseverance. I used to play competitive soccer for multiple years and the endurance that took is also underestimated. I remember puking multiple times.. something about the long distance jogging gets me. Even basketball you're always running- never stop. Cheerleading however, when ive been watching one of my friends practices or games doesnt nearly come close to those sports.

I know a girl who was in a stunt and she was thrown up and team wasn't paying attention to her 'cause the players made a touch down and she landed on a fence and she was paralyzed and still is this very second! @starwinx10 these arent real cheerleaders. they are basically dancers and dancers wear outfits like these all the time. like those dresses that show like their whole leg and open up at the stomach. and the reason they wear them is because its easier to move in them when you are doing different moves and easier for people to see what kind oof move they are doing.

Can you see a toe touch landing well in long pants and a sweater. We dress skimpy to exemplify our moves. You can't tell if our arms are straight is we're wearing a baggy top. You can't see our foot work in pants, and frankly, You'd pass out from heat exhaustion before the routine was over. It's functionality not sex appeal.

u kno there is no "condition " u have to be in to be a cheerleader. yes, u do have to have the energy to do the dances, cheers, and stunts. but im saying that u dont have to be as skinny as the dallas cowboy girls are. u can be goth and emo and fat, or anything else anybody finds as unattractive and still make captin! steryotypes, discrimination, whatever u want to call it.

What? No way. I'm niether beautiful or "preppy". People call me "goth" or "emo" and I dress in black all the time with heavy eyeliner, and heck, I made the cheer team. I'm over-weight, and I'm an amazing cheerleader. No one on my squad would trade me for anything. We have a BMX rider on my team too. She looks really punk. We love her as much as any of the cheerleaders. You don't have to be a stereotype to be a cheerleader.

I'm a cheerleader, 90lbs , bbut i look kinda fat.. but my jumps are the highest on the squad and my tumbling is the best on the squad and I'm the best base !!!!! Cheerleading is not just about dancing around and being skinny , theres WAY more to it then that ! Trust me all-star cheerleading can like preach it to ya ! it's hard, just like basketball& football& soccer& softball so , we feel the pain just as much as those other sports do. Yes, cheerleadin' is a sport!

My mom&dad&coaches tell me to keep cheer till college. I think cheering is a sport. You don't, it's our own opinions. Gymnastics is a sport. Cheerleading is just like it. Basketball is a sport cherleading is like it but we don't put a ball in a basket. We try hard like they do. Try to win. Dedicate our selves! Just like y'all!

@addictedtocheer101 Ok I understand what you're saying about the REAL cheerleaders, I would consider it a sport...But for the most part, the cheerleaders at my high school for example I wouldnt really consider athletes with the exception of a couple. I still wouldnt consider it as difficult as football, soccer, or basketball tho.

@addictedtocheer101 When i say difficult i dont mean dangerous. I play football now and it teaches alot of discipine and perseverance. I used to play competitive soccer for multiple years and the endurance that took is also underestimated. I remember puking multiple times.. something about the long distance jogging gets me. Even basketball you're always running- never stop. Cheerleading however, when ive been watching one of my friends practices or games doesnt nearly come close to those sports.

@01230456078901230 - What about all-star cheerleading.. You have practice 2 hours so many competitions.. traveling EVERYWHERE and so on... and to high school cheerlading... I know a girl who was in a stunt and she was thrown up and team wasn't paying attention to her 'cause the players made a touch down and she landed on a fence and she was paralyzed and still is this very second! That just might be your school that is like that! My school isn't ANYTHING like that !!!!

@addictedtocheer101 i agree 2.becuz im only 13 and not the skinniest but not super fat...and all these skinny girls cant base,and some cant even tumble like i can.you dont have to be skinny to be a cheerleading.ive been cheering all my life since i was 4.non stop 2.all the things.flips ive learned where from my home.and even skinyn girls cant do stuff the less skinny girls can do.like base,im always there for my flyer and never let her hit the ground im always under neath to catch.:)

Real cheereladers don't wear hotpants and tops that give major cleavage.
I'm annoyed at the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders because they help reinforce the stereotype that cheerleaders are only good for get their boobs out.
I've worked really hard this past year to tumble and stunt with my uni team and no one sees cheerleading as a sport, just a group of girls that flick their hair and look hot.
Cheerleading hurts, I've got so many bruises from cradles that I can't even count them anymore.

YOUTH CHEER-not really a sport, more of a hobby to see if they are ready for real cheer
HIGH SCHOOL CHEER- sideline cheer, not a sport unless you're are stunting and tumbling most of the game but competitive cheer = sport !
ALLSTAR CHEER-def a sport
COLLEGE CHEER- def a sport!
NFL&NBA CHEER=POM TEAM! and pom isnt really a sport. they arent real cheerleaders. real cheerleaders stunt, tumble, &actualy yell out CHEERS, and dont wear skimpy little outfits, they wear actual uniforms.

@starwinx10 these arent real cheerleaders. they are basically dancers and dancers wear outfits like these all the time. like those dresses that show like their whole leg and open up at the stomach. and the reason they wear them is because its easier to move in them when you are doing different moves and easier for people to see what kind oof move they are doing.

@starwinx10 Honest answer? Because can you really see a girl getting thrown in the air and caught wearing a knee length skirt and hoodie? Can you see a toe touch landing well in long pants and a sweater. We dress skimpy to exemplify our moves. You can't tell if our arms are straight is we're wearing a baggy top. You can't see our foot work in pants, and frankly, You'd pass out from heat exhaustion before the routine was over. It's functionality not sex appeal.

@starwinx10 Professional cheerleaders, despite being called cheerleaders, are not. They are dancers. Just because they use poms doesn't make them a cheer squad. Honestly, professional cheerleaders' only job is to look pretty on the sideline. Google All Star cheerleading. That's real.

u kno there is no "condition " u have to be in to be a cheerleader. yes, u do have to have the energy to do the dances, cheers, and stunts. but im saying that u dont have to be as skinny as the dallas cowboy girls are. u can be goth and emo and fat, or anything else anybody finds as unattractive and still make captin! steryotypes, discrimination, whatever u want to call it.

I don't find that this is discriminating. How is it discriminating? It shows pictures of cheerleaders from college football teams. The song isn't discriminating either its saying that these people are beautiful. Which is what you have to be to be a cheerleader. I mean am i wrong? How many butt ugly cheerleaders have you seen in your life? None. You have to have a certain image (beautiful, skinny, preppy) before you can be a cheerleader.

What? No way. I'm niether beautiful or "preppy". People call me "goth" or "emo" and I dress in black all the time with heavy eyeliner, and heck, I made the cheer team. To tell you the truth, there are a lot of fat girls on my team. lol. I don't really call some of these girls in the video cheerleaders. They're just dancers to me. They don't tumble or do much stunting. You don't have to be a certain image to be a cheerleader! Believe me. "Labels are for soup cans"- love that quote

@pvchick2011 I think you're confused... Just because Bring It On portrays all the cheerleaders to be drop dead gorgeous, doesn't mean that they have to be in real life. I'm over-weight, and I'm an amazing cheerleader. No one on my squad would trade me for anything. We have a BMX rider on my team too. She looks really punk. We love her as much as any of the cheerleaders. You don't have to be a stereotype to be a cheerleader.
